  2. So Scunny have an extra 1.66 to play with. What change(s) can you foresee?
  3. Not Ipswich specific, but thought I’d link it here
  4. Can only see a Poole win. But hopefully Scunthorpe put up a fight and we see some good racing. Do we expect the scorpions to make some early changes? With Pickering average coming down and them having points to play with now?
  5. Sadly, the operating model has been allowed to evolve into what it currently is... Meaning neither league runs with any real prestige or financial rewards... Win your league? Yay!... Finish bottom of your league? Oh well, there's always next year... Many meetings are ran with almost zero jeopardy or consequence, which is "perfect" for those promoters who don't want any pressure... "Having to win" to keep a crowd level, costs money, time and brings with it some anxiety... The result of the meeting being, for a good number of promoters, "perfection" if it is a 46-44 win.... And, given that lack of prestige, and financial gain available, I 100% get their outlook... Sadly, it appears only us fans that want to see the sport grow, however, to get that growth means a completely new operating model, but, to bring in a "proper" operating model costs money.... A proper vicious circle... You cannot have jeopardy, consequence, credibility, integrity and prestige in victory, without having some serious financial rewards for success, which in turn delivers big publicity... However. You will never get those serious financial rewards, and big publicity, and prestige for victory, by running meetings without jeopardy, consequence, credibility, and integrity... A real race to the bottom currently...

  7. The realty was that Sky needed subscribers and from their knowledge of the mutually successful relationship between TV & the NFL they knew that Uk football was the answer. Sky played a pivotal role in the formation of the Premiership alongside the then big five of Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs & Everton. From its inception, clubs have never had the need to fund any part of the running of the league itself as those costs are met from commercial income including TV deals. Each club as shareholders own one share with one vote which they lose if they are relegated. Speedway had a similar opportunity with Sky but the promoters and their central body failed to invest the money correctly to future proof the sport and eventually rather than build a strong relationship with their broadcasting partner the promoters as a body actually alienated Sky.
  8. Indeed - at Foxhall when some of us starting using horns, cow bells and a megaphone a few moved and one poor old dear dropped a stitch on her knitting
  9. Speaking to an official at Poole he said that the ACU had sent out two emails on this subject but the read receipt was in single digits. This sounds partly like the classic case of trying to blame ignorance which is no legal defence.
  10. Forecast now looks good Baggy, nice warm spring day so all systems go 👍🏻
  11. Has anything official from them "in charge " been said regarding Phil Morris ??
  12. It is now. Its the licencing body's responsibility to inform the riders licencing body of a head injury. Even the PZM have agreed to this as was explained at this seasons training day at Rugby.
  13. Mine would be: 1. Fricke 9.89 2. Howarth 5.00 3. Lawson 6.83 4. Nicholls 5.26 5. Kvech 6.91 6. Zischke 3.00 7. Cairns RS Total: 36.89
  14. I think Lawson has always divided opinion - never seems to be good mates with anyone else but he's a very reliable scorer.
  15. Concussion/bang on the head can be difficult to assess though - I had a wallop on the head and was dizzy/headache for a time and was withdrawn but then felt better and got reinstated for my last ride, with no issues.
  16. If indeed it turns out that the role of CEO (incumbent Phil Morris) has been made redundant due to a lack of money then it’s difficult to see how an “independent body/person” that is often raised as a solution on this forum, could be funded to run the sport. That said, the sport is already “run” by a (supposedly) independent body - the SCB - which by and large get their objectives done and funded by license & similar fees. Which brings the conversation back to the BSPL & the intransigent hobbyist majority within. Their actions continue to block progress of the sport (to now include the removal of a CEO) simply because they have little or no intention or capability of implementing change which may (would) disrupt their hobby. Until, somehow, there is sufficient momentum by a group of well funded vested promoters to bring about long term change, then worryingly, we fans need to understand that whilst they remain in situ the hobbyist will continue to rule.
  17. Just to clarify please flagrag - slightly confusing use of "negatives" in your post - are you basically saying that clubs declined the YT opportunity despite low cost and the advantages? (as a rather old analogue person this stuff can baffle me a bit!). Thanks
  18. So short sighted by the promoters. Sooner we have a independent body running the sport the better
  19. 06.04.2026: 1st round Pucharu Macec, Gniezno : https://youtu.be/-68qiscvwIs?si=QAg1r6xj0_x9l_Ig
  20. 1. Dan Bewley - 8.64 2. Anders Rowe - 5.22 3. Jan Kvech - 6.91 4. Dan Thompson - 5.87 5. Sam Masters - 7.28 6. Jye Etheridge - 3.00 7. Dan Gilkes - RS Total - 36.92

  22. Probably suit Berwick moving the fixture if some of the riders have other commitments in Denmark that night.
  23. Just isn’t the money for the role but hopefully Phil will still be involved in a more advisory role and possibly on a pay as you go basis . If the TV deal had come off he would have been very involved. i still do not agree that clubs didn’t take the initiative of broadcasting one meeting a week free on You Tube to satisfy sponsors and try to attract more new fans all they had to do was pay the production costs which were minimal compared to the full tv production costs. The best way would have been to pay BSN to produce one meeting a week for free YT broadcast as that would then give them the opportunity to upsell their subscription service of people want to see more and could have sold race sponsorship for the season
  24. A BSN fixture has been postponed, this is a early season competition which I believe this year the final is scheduled for early summer. So to keep this on schedule after an postponement it has been rescheduled asap , unluckily for Berwick it's that fixture that has been dropped to fit in the BSN fixture. Nowt to do that some team has something against Berwick, just got to get the BSN early fixtures completed
  25. Don't think this is about Berwick. No matter what club had been logged in for that date for a Championship match would have been bumped to get the BSN match on, and complete the section.
