  1. Past hour
  2. Everything else Birmingham is inept so why should the team planning be any different 😉
  3. I would hardly describe the Macon final as tinpot, especially as there was a semi earlier this month which enabled Denmark and GB to qualify. As this meeting has been in the calendar way before the British fixture list was published maybe the Championship fixtures are the problem instead ?
  4. SD Timmo Car Sales Oxford Cheetahs powered by County Plumbing Supplies: Sam Masters (C), Jonas Knudsen, Mitch McDiarmid, Jason Edwards (G), Cameron Heeps, Darryl Ritchings (G), Luke Killeen. Plymouth Gladiators: Scott Nicholls, Zaine Kennedy (G), Ben Barker (C), Joe Thompson, Nicolai Klindt, Alfie Bowtell, Max Perry (G).
  5. Today
  6. Flint did he not want to ride for Glasgow this weekend? Dan Thompson did he not want to ride for Glasgow this weekend? Nagel did he not want to ride for Glasgow this weekend? Mulford did he not want to ride for Redcar this weekend? Knudsen did he not want to ride for Oxford this weekend? They all had a choice to make, and there’s no correct one, as the majority of these riders are missing two league meetings for this tinpot competition, but I’m sure are privileged to ride for their country.
  7. I for the life of me can't understand why Birmingham wanted to keep Hagon. Yes he a good meeting the other week, but Joe Thompson is the only rider with a lesser average that Hagon! Both the youngster at Lynn have a higher average. If you take bonus pts into the equation. Edwards is a tad under 5pts. Hagon is 2.43. If Birmingham couldn't be bothered to contact Edwards, then whose fault is it that he's gone to Ipswich? Maybe Hagon is very cheap!!
  8. Yesterday
  9. No point in anyone moving up unless there's some form of rider control introduced. There aren't enough top riders around so you can replace Birmingham with Northampton but where are the heat leaders coming from. Oxford, Lynn and Birmingham unsurprisingly are once again the poor teams this year.
  10. That’s the risk with R/R when it’s adopted as permanent rather than temporary cover for an absent rider. Becker is rumoured to be having a go back on a bike next month. Just getting back in the saddle though is not the same as being competitive for racing. To be fair, the rest of the team has generally stepped up to cover for Becker (Howarth has been great). As proved last night though, there is little room for an off night when your reserves don’t deliver, especially at home. Kemp has generally been on it, but struggled last night. Joe T is a concern though. I’ve defended him to the hilt so far but he remains way out of his depth at this level. The RS berth will continue to be a problem unless they can get Gilkes back. Anyone know about Gilkes injury progress?
  11. Kemp had his worst meeting for a while but generally has been riding fairly well around BP, but we really are struggling at 7 with Joe Thompson.
  12. Too right. The whole make up of the sport needs a complete overhaul.
  13. Smederna vs Dackarna was very one sidled, not sure what was going with Dackarna. Smederna were really hot from the gate and Dackarna were usually beaten already the first few meters. In a few heats Dackarna had 5-1 from the the tapes but after 1 lap (or less) Smederna had taken to front. Not much racing tonight so the only overtaking that happened was when Smederna sligthly missed the gating and had to work a little to win. The most celebratory that happened is that Anton Jansson scored his first heat win in Elitserien/Bauhausligan. I had to do some research and now that I have checked it tonight's 3p in heat 2 were indeed Anton's first ever in 500cc league racing for Smederna. For those of you who doesnt know who Anton is here is a brief summary. Anton's father is Jimmy Jansson former rider and team manager for Smederna. Jimmy's father (Anton's grandfather / farfar) is Bo Jansson (former speedway rider). Bo's brother was Tommy Jansson (speedway rider, rode for Wimbledon and died in 1976). Tommy's and Bo's father was Joel Jansson (speedway rider). Anton is thereby the 4th generation speedway rider in the Jansson family. Very impressive if I may say so.
  14. Probably not, said they would stream long distance meetings ie Oxford and pilots . Redcar meetings usually have a lot of bears fans coming over to Northside. Think the last bears meeting was streamed by comets TV but was a test streaming to make sure everything worked. Apparently 300 streams were sold for the pilots meeting
  15. Yes some great racing. Having watched it back, I must admit it came over very well on the stream and a great advert for British speedway, compared to some of the racing which has been televised lately. Wonder if the Redcar meeting will be streamed?
  16. Lions can't carry on with a four man team like they did last night!
  17. Something about it being slick, gate and go, tyres wearing out, losing the coin toss. All the excuses were coming out. https://www.poole-speedway.com/news/view/20250712-reaction-disastrous-start-left-the-pirates-trailing-the-comets Anyone who was there or streamed it saw exciting racing, what caught Poole out was not knowing what lines to ride. Vinnie, Tate, Fraser, Antti all made great overtakes that night and some in multiple races. On a side note it was mentioned that 300 purchases were made for the live stream that night. Seems to be a success so far.
  18. As the senior reserve Starke should be outscoring Cairns plus he did not beat Zaine and Cairns did.
  19. Yes they did but Cairns was more impressive as he is very young and the senior reserve should be outscoring him.
  20. Said it was very slick, but to be honest there was plenty of over taking.
  21. I've streamed meetings from both teams and Workington definitely provide by far the better racing
  22. How right you are. 1928 tracks with 2025 rocket ship bikes racing on them will not end well. There are more and more injuries these days. Is it any wonder?
  23. Drew has opted to ride for Berwick on Friday and Saturday against Glasgow thankfully
