Interesting and honest interview. Improve the commercial side as it is in a worse situation now than ever before in terms of sponsorship. Good to hear his enthusiasm in having Cairns + Rushen down at reserve and it would make good sense to think that they will be used in promoting the sport to the local media and the targeted younger demographic. Fingers crossed on the positivity over the potential Coventry return and the future of Poole although I personally wouldn't trust any council when they are losing so much money + always at risk when a tenant and Councils looking at any potential development for a cash injection. In terms of a TV deal it will be interesting to see what happens in the future but can't see HBO or Sky Sports getting involved again with there current sporting priorities perhaps Netflix may be an option. Should be an interesting meeting on Fri with former Pirates Nicholls, King, Thomsen + Thompson back at Wimborne Road,

Is there a video of heat 1 crash involving Blodorn and Holder? Seen conflicting views some say it was dirty riding others saying not. - Today

Unfortunately did not turn 16 till after the various Aussie championships, don't know if he has any long lost UK relative, but from what I've seen ,only on video over winter and pre season, looks a very good prospect

Championship Predictions 2026
szkocjasid replied to Paddy The Rebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
My predictions 1. Glasgow 2. Poole 3. Oxford 4. Edinburgh 5. Plymouth 6. Berwick 7. Redcar 8. Workington 9. Scunthorpe Found this a tough prediction to make, apart from Scunthorpe think any other team could make the top 4. Glasgow look to have a strong top end & have been clever with their reserves riding in "lower" positions than last year, so both should see average improvement. Poole don't look as impressive as in previous years, but Rushen could prove to be a masterstroke if he likes up to the hype. Oxford have the best heat leader trip, plus 2 second strings who have a lot of potential. Reserve strength could stop them winning trophies though. Edinburgh look a good team to me, think their reserves will add to their averages, as will Dan & Kye. If the other 3 can maintain their averages, I'll predict play-offs. Plymouth look stronger than in recent years, if Klima can prove to be a trump card, then play-offs well within their reach. Berwick's heat leader trip look very decent, Etheridge could be a 4th heat leader at home (not away), but don't rate their reserves that highly. Redcar appear to be missing back up for Wright / Klindt. Whoever is at reserve should score well, which keeps them mid table, but don't think they are quite as strong as teams above them. Workington on paper, look great at the top, but sadly Cook appears a risk, will he last the season? One of the weaker reserve pairings for me. Scunthorpe clearly looks the weakest team to me, can see heavy defeats away from home. Need to wave the magic wand with Pickering's new average, to avoid the wooden spoon. -
Belle Vue v Sheffield KOC March 30th 7.30pm
Col replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well I was hoping someone would post a reasonable report of the action of the meeting, rather than 3 pages of Cairns chat but hey ho. Will be at Owlerton for an inevitable Aces humiliation on Thursday. -
Cookie and Tate at 3 and 4, would be very formidable. Think we are in for an exciting season Comets fans.

Viv Muddle has just turned 16, so he'll be looking to join the other teenage Aussie prospects here, or in Europe like Beau Bailey Has he got UK partiality -- l don't think he's got a State Title qualification for a visa?
-
Very few challenge meetings take place these days Steve, think it's down to the clubs trying to make or not lose too much money on league meetings, where challenge meetings will probably lose money. Unless it's Glasgow V Edinburgh several times a year

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002t1sq Ooh, that is the closest i've heard them say about moving up to the Prem in the media. Interesting! Only 2 things needed: Good tv deal Weds nights. Not asking for much! Apparently we would have both Cook's and both Holder's.
-
That's ok - they will be in the same league as at least one Nottinghamshire team next season, possibly two if County come up to join us. 😉

Mumsie changed their profile photo

Thats actually quite a refreshing way of thinking about it tbf, just a bit tricky in some ways cause the racing at Poole is rubbish haha
-
I always find that if you have very low expectations when attending UK Speedway, then you, more often than not, won't be too disappointed....
-
Ditto, but if a couple of decent riders are missing I just give it a miss nowadays. No longer a diehard.
-
Fair enough thanks for the honest answer 👍
-
Wouldn't give a monkeys.... When I go to UK league Speedway, I just go to watch the racing, and dont let the Mickey Mouse way the sport is ran get in the way of what can be a decent night out.
-
Yes but has been doing grasstrack, looked ok Sunday
-
Had to tell so early on, but can us getting a hiding on Saturday
-
Sums up UK Speedway doesnt it? Teams are fully allowed to sign riders knowing they will miss meetings, (invariably away meetings), but, if they plan their fixture list well, they can actually improve their team by bringing in a track specialist ringer... Can't believe that more people don't take this sport more seriously...
-
I get that but just want 7 blokes there week in week out barring injury or illness Just out of interest if a Polish fixture got rearranged the same night as a Belle vue match would you be happy if Zach was forced to miss it?
-
Probably makes them stronger cook isn't very good around plymouth
-
Yes 600 miles it's 42 mile each way from my house to the motorway at Penrith 😧 but was a bit easier back in the day as nowhere near as much traffic on the roads
-
The Poole promotion were quoted as saying, when they signed him, that they knew he would miss some meetings at weekends but would do their best to work around it to minimise it.. Given he already had a Polish contract, Poole are secondary in priority... The Aces ride Monday and Thursday so shouldn't clash... Poole didn't have to sign him, knowing he would 100% miss meetings... No one held a gun to their head..

Plymouth v Poole Saturday
