  1. Past hour
  2. After the match the Stal fans approached the team who took a microphone to speak to the fans who stayed. Vaculik took to the microphone but didn’t say anything productive and the fans replied with the following statement: We are losing two matches and now we have four matches for life. Look how many people came to the stadium today. And you, idiot, you are doing rubbish. How much do you idiot, earn, and what do you drive! - the yellow-blue fan did not dismise the words. - If, God forbid, we fall, you will run away like rats from a sinking ship - he continued to the team, which costs several million zlotys (its leaders even earn more than three million per season). Lebedevs took the microphone off Vaculik and responded: I wanted to end this season today. Not in this style. I wanted to enjoy the win in two matches. And to end this season and this slogan… “We save steel". But unfortunately... We have to get to work. Believe me, we give our whole heart on this track to make you happy and for this league to be with you. We have this hole, f*cked, but we can handle it
  3. Did he not say you have too be in to win it.That was the get out clause.
  4. And, to someone with a couple of young kids, who has heard of the sport but currently doesnt attend their local track due to the cost of admission... Simon Lambert is just as well known as Emil....

  6. What do you think speedway should do 'to go the way of cricket'? In some ways, speedway is already the motorsport equivalent of short form cricket, in that it is short bursts of activity with space for additional activity in-between. It's widely thought that The Hundred will be converted to a more usual Twenty 20 tournament once more of the franchises are bought by IPL owners. I'm in Poland at the moment, and went to a play off match at Leszno yesterday. The age profile of the crowd was significantly different to the UK, with much more crowd chanting, scarf waving etc. But it was all about the speedway - no 'novelty ' entertainment between races etc
  7. Watched the match on the beach last night. Poor start touching the tapes and it set the tone for the night. Underwhelming performance to say the least. Juniors doing a better job than GP stars and a lacklustre, uninterested captain who already signed a contract elsewhere which shows his commitment. Gorzow in serious trouble of dropping down as Rybnik could turn them over at this rate and the M.2 teams will both be in Stella form for a shootout. If anything it shows my thoughts on the state of the GP, we have 3 GP stars in Steel who are woeful in the top league of speedway yet are in the SGP, it’s deffo not the best of the best.
  8. I've been suggesting that Speedway go the way of Cricket for the last few years, but sadly I don't think they're even comparable anymore in terms of media contracts. I heard the other day that The Hundred is run by the same company that stages the IPL Cricket, so a multi-national company a bit like WBD and not some rag tag collection of ex scrap metal dealers. According to reports the TV contact is worth £220m a year... as opposed to the £1m per year for Speedway!! The only way British Speedway will attract the world class performers every match is to pitch it to the TV companies asking for money that would blow Polish Speedway out of the water, probably something like a £50m-£100m a year contract... unfortunately it's likely that any such proposal would be laughed out of the building starting from such a low base.
  9. Today
  10. I’d tend to disagree, many Polish matches are dry and they don’t water the track half as much as GPs. I’ve watched multiple matches live in Poland this season and they are always dusty.
  11. Missed last night as was out in Wroclaw with the Mrs. Was keeping up to speed on the App, but sounds like I missed a cracker.
  12. at least this GP must be up for a reward, most boring GP this season....absolute borefest....however there is still one to go Vojens, now this could quite easily take the award. On a serious note, does no one in power of the GP's look back in the debrief and think yep we fekked that up?
  13. I went on Saturday and from where I was (3rd bend) it never looked overly wet. See a lot on social media and on here about it, but to my eye it looked ok? Love Wroclaw for the weekend, love the track and the atmosphere was fantastic. 👍

  22. I said so much.If you watch Polish Matches they water the track every 3-4 heats but it is not a skating rink the next race.!!
  23. Not sure what the people in charge at the moment can do to be honest the horse has long bolted ...what do you expect them to do ? Most Speedway teams rent off there landlords and those staduims are being sold off one by for Houses. again not sure they can do about that..Why Promsing riders have been lost to the sport because of the rules ? Can give us some examples ?
