Cause he’s sat with his feet up in some polish hotel as he doesn’t want to ride the Plymouth track.

Excerpts from Plymouths FB page ahead of the Redcar double header Plymouth Gladiators team manager Garry May believes his side can keep their late-season playoff hopes alive as they prepare for a crucial double-header against Redcar Bears this weekend fresh from a stunning home victory over Poole Pirates. Plymouth will be boosted by the return of Danish star Nikolai Klindt for the away leg, with Tobias Thomsen stepping in as guest for Lasse on Friday before switching to guest at number one for Saturday’s home fixture. Rider Replacement (RR) will operate for the home match in Lasse’s absence. With playoff positions still within reach, May knows the importance of the weekend: “If we can pick up around 10 points from our last matches, including wins over Berwick, we might just sneak into the playoffs. It depends on other results, but we’ve got a chance. The way the lads have been riding beating Oxford and Poole recently it’s been tremendous.” He also urged fans to turn out in force for Saturday’s home meeting: “The crowd has been incredible these past few weeks. The riders have responded to it, you could feel the buzz after that last heat against Poole. If we’re going to make the playoffs, we need them behind us more than ever.” No mention of why Klindt is missing Saturday's meeting. I also find it ridiculous they keep going on about the play-offs, but won't put the strongest possible team out to help them get there.

Problems with SGP
eric i replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I still think they pretended to have Cardiff on the calender to improve their chances of getting sponsors, they were always going to a do a double in Manchester. If they were struggling for a financially viable crowd at Cardiff, having a second GP in the country would only have a negative effect on attendence. I would be surprised if they don't do 2 gps manchester next year, the only way to make it pay for Discovery. - Today

Super Heat - Why its not right!!
kelvinht replied to dontforgetthefueltapsbruv's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I quite liked what they tried a few seasons ago, but simpler 3 points for a win 2 points for a draw 1 point for losing by 6 of less Same for home and away teams. No bonus points (always helps tracks with bigger home advantage) and no super heats.... -

Well something seems to have changed with the Pirates last night in the BSN semi at Wimborne Road. Maybe Middleditch reads this forum and decided to do some managing (I don't actually think this is true) . The track looked a bit different too, I thought it had a more uniform and finer surface. Racing wasn't particularly fast and there wasn't a lot of overtaking. But it's results we need now. So whatever has changed gave a very good result, long may it continue. Good to see riders realising their potential. Special shout out for Tobias who over achieved, great racing.

Poole vs Oxford BSN SF 1st leg 13/08/25

Without credibility, no business can hope to prosper... Or maybe even just survive... UK Speedway is a classic example where that lack of credibility has slowly, but surely, eroded the fan base... The Poole v Oxford was a semi final of one of fhe few competitions ran, and was planned in knowing one rider wasn't available as he rides elsewhere on a Wednesday... It's telling that the sponsors of the comp, like so many other sponsors of the sport, are "in the Speedway bubble", as "outside money" would be more than a bit cheesed off with the lack of respect shown to it, and them, by such decisions.. As I said previously the Mickey Mouse guest system allows such things to happen as it can even deliver an advantage.. The sport needs to take a long look in the mirror, and deliver an operation where it stands on its own two feet, with riders giving equal commitment to it or face a lengthy ban.. They coped without Nick Morris for two years, so I am sure those three mentioned, and others, won't be indispensable... Especially if they match team numbers to availability commitments... In short, they set the sport up so supply exceeds demand... Whether they have the will, or the capability, is another matter... -
Still no new signing for Redcar?

Poole vs Oxford BSN SF 1st leg 13/08/25

I might not be as strict at that, but definitely think there should be a deterrent in place to stop the Gusts / Cook / Klindt situations happening. 28 day ban with no facility (75% guest) would be my preference. If clubs feel they are hard down by tough, sign a new rider! Preferably one who will turn up each week. -
After last weeks tough match against Oxford the Comets are back in League action looking for more points to lift them off the bottom of the table. The Monarchs bring a decent side to the GT Tyres Arena and will be eager to push the Comets all the way. Its a busy weekend for the Comets with away matches at Edinburgh on the Friday and a trip to Oxford on the Sunday so a testing time for riders and machinery.

Oxford is making a profit, but that isn't shutting him up!

Never here anyway so not really make much difference. Now would love them to look at the Klindt situation and threaten him with a ban for picking and choosing his meetings for Plymouth. I’m sure he’d be able to make it then. -

I honestly wouldn't have noticed Gusts missed a match for no reason. I'm so used to Cheetahs having guests in every match, I just assumed everything was as normal. Which isn't a great state for British Speedway to be in.
