  1. Past hour
  2. I dare say The Northampton "Hamptons" was considered but Foxes does make for an easier race jacket and merchandise design!
  3. To maybe attract a younger audience the thunderous "Northampton Nitros" could have worked or Northampton Thunder makes you wonder
  4. Some god racing tonight , well done to all the riders Glasgow have a real star in pedersen
  5. You may be right but high risk insurance is incredibly expensive. A neighbour of mine who does rallying doesn’t insure his car because it’s around 40k for a two day event.
  6. Today
  7. Enjoyed that... Kurtz with Zmarzlik like straight line speed... Top riders riding so close together.... And around a tenner to get in too.... Polish Speedway...
  8. How do you know the Big Guns would be straight on the blower for a handout ? I'd hazard a guess most of them have insurance to cover injuries etc.
  9. Isn't Saints the name of the rugby team? If you wanted a link with the Rugby supporters they could have been called after their most famous player!! Northampton Pollocks. Joking aside I thought something like Knights would have worked. Isn't their some links to Royalty in the area? I mean they couldn't have been called the Princesses.
  10. The line-up matters very very much. These "Big Guns" need to be less selfish with their time for a great cause that is there for them. If anything happens, they'd be quick sharp on the blower for a hand out. All monies don't stretch very far in 2026 so an afternoon of their time wouldn't go a miss.
  11. Well I would imagine his last average was probably a bit higher than Gilkes and probably wouldnt get enough reduction for him to fit.
  12. Time to replace the announcer. My programme looks like I’ve got Parkinson’s every time I visit Ashfield from correcting his mistakes, but tonight has been remarkably bad. Great event and cause, but you literally cannot trust a word he’s saying.
  13. Can’t believe no one has made a thread on the match so here’s my tilt… On a very cold night the two clubs popularly tipped to finish bottom of the league fought it out but it wasn’t much of a fight , more like Bears v Pickering ! On this performance Bears will be ok with Klindt making an instant impact and the rest of the Bears getting solid score throughout and it could have been more without a mechanical issue for Jenkins. Scunthorpe , Pickering apart , were woeful, hard to believe two of them practised at Redcar the previous week. Expected more from MPT , Lambert and Mountain very disappointing but Pickering was exceptional after his first ride. Scorpions might do well at home but away ? Bears we’re rock solid but was very impressed how the two reserves rode, Pijper and Scott, both battling with riders far more experienced than they. Good that Wright was also in attendance. Pity about the electrical fault, not sure the meeting should have continued without the red lights working but they got away with no incidents although the delay did lose a few fans on a freezing evening . Despite the one sided score there was some good racing on a decent track with dirt on the outside and slick on the inside but glad we don’t have flag starts every week.
  14. If its only a rumour why worry😅
  15. I wonder how much of a percentage discount he would get?
  16. And they’re already working on the team for ‘27, almost certainly will be a big hitter at 1..
  17. He indeed spoke very well, and was very professional, you can see that he is a level up from everyone else within the speedway community, very open about how people within speedway are only interested in what is good for themselves and not what’s right for the sport, I liked the change regarding FIM points system next year and his input into that! I was impressed with most of what he had to say, even touching on Grand Prix in GB vs in Europe and the amount of issues this country causes in terms of costs and putting on events.
  18. Well, they've done such a great job of collectively running the sport 😁
  19. Yep, could have gone with Racers especially with the home of British Motor Racing within the county (Silverstone)
  20. Love Kyle Newman back even if only for a short time.
  21. You would have thought the Leicester owner may have said no fellow consortium members this is not a great thing to call Northampton The Foxes . It should have been The Saints or Dons if you want my opinion the other suggestion was Racers which again would have been better
  22. NO, NO, NO!!!!!. 🤬🤬 THAT WOULD BE VERY WRONG. 😵😵
