Solid looking team so far, especially around Shielfield. Morris, Battye, Kemp, Jenkins and Etheridge leaves 7.77 for 2 riders (assuming 40 total and that my maths is right). Leaves options along the lines of: Palovaara and a 2 pointer; Or Dayle Wood and Hodder/Foord; Or Mitchell Cluff and Sam Hagon/a 4.00 newcomer.

A dominant team doesn't mean a "poor season"... In fact, in most sports, it means a team that when they visit you want to take them down.. And are something to aspire to, and not just match, but move ahead of... The main issue is that for at least a decade, and probably more, as the top league dwindled, and teams even chose to drop out of it to ride in tier two, winning it has little prestige... Six teams? Seven teams? Who cares when usually one, and sometimes two, are completely out of their depth... This years title, last years title, and several going back to Covid and beyond, have very little value or kudos the way they are won, and the minimal reward they generate...

Assume it 40 point limit again Sure Berwick finished about 1.5 or around that over so never going to fit in an over 8 guy if say palovaara back Even at that it looks like a 2 point at 7 -

Tbf he also thinks it is 2927 next year, so there is no hope! Interesting that Oxford going for top heavy and Berwick more strength in depth. Though not sure how much is left for final 2. -

The quote from Howe :- "I was in the pits watching it on the screen and was pretty confident that Zach Cook may have left the track" ... Well that obviously left the the SCB no choice then. A 'definitely maybe' is clearly a FACT! Let's just shut up & move on now. It would be funny if it wasn't so tragic. Apparently according to the Star, 2 referees with over 20 years experience supported Carrington's conclusion and how could they not? To exclude Cook we need to see evidence that the outer edge of his back wheel was over the inner edge of the white line. In the view from the outside, the back wheel is obscured by Pickering. The view from the back only shows the inside of the wheel, with the white line obscured. We've seen no image to show that the outside of the wheel was over the inside of the line. The SCB statement is therefore a farce, unless they have evidence that wasn't available to the referee.

Announcements coming thick and fast now..... Drew Kemp announced as returning to Berwick in '27....
-
After years of ever growing brand damaging Guestfests where these very same top riders missed more and more UK meetings to further their own individual ambitions as the GP series grew... And promoters arranged meetings regardless, knowing some of their best drawcards would be missing.. But still charged the same..
-
Not at all... I remember it was said that 2027 was going to be sorted by July 2026... I, for one, believe them..

Next year is fine then? 😁 He only just got a handle on the Poole track halfway through this season, so prob a bit too early to be a Poole rider. Plus the way he was over celebrating beating Poole riders in playoff final, a few Poole fans didn't like that right @Arthur54 😉

No i got your point just balancing it out a little, in 1998 the standard of riders over here was far supierior, as were the anount of teams participating, going back to the early seventies title hat trick we had 18 teams in the league and all the best riders in the world, the sport in the UK has been on a downward spiral ever since, culminating in the past couple of seasons, ending up with what we had this season, and some at the start of this season said Belle Vue would suffer with a long tail just to accommodate the top two. We can only hope the powers that be take onboard new ideas, i think next season is the last chance saloon

Wonderful announcement by Jye Etheridge, addressing the three or four forum fannies who consistently post negative comments about him .. "F*ck you, l'm back next year". Biggest cheer of the night!
