A shame a few Poole fans can’t keep their gobs shut at times. Caused problems for the club.

LIKED and admired him. Could have a blazing row and the next minute sit down for a cup of tea with Bob and his wife Margaret. Speedway owes the Dugard family a massive debt, not least because of Bob.

Thanks for travelling up and giving your views. From what I heard, above the noise and general atmosphere, all riders interviewed over the tannoy thought the shape of the track was better but there were a few bumps. Track record was broken with ease by Tai and most races quicker than normal meetings, as you might expect. Cookie showed what could be done when he finally got his set-up right with him getting a standing ovation for his win over holder in Heat 15. Don't think any Glasgow fan could believe that Steve Worrall was in the GB team. I know its good to be loyal but Steve isn't the Steve that rode with style last year. Hes come back from a bad injury and putting him out against Australia can't have done his confidence any good. Finally a well done to everyone that helped get the meeting on plus all the volunteers.

For me last night at Mildenhall took the biscuit. At the last two meetings at Kent I have been robbed of Eight races with no compensation. On a lovely sunny evening I thought at least there would be zero chance of an abandoned meeting. So heat 13 sees the paramedic struck in the eye by flying shale and unable to continue. Quite why she was watching from the pits I have no idea as I was under the impression the paramedic had to be on the inside of the track. Of course accidents happen but this has now become farcical. No wonder Speedway cannot attract new fans let alone keep the few that remain

Gino was brought in on a 5.4 Pt average at the beginning of the season and when the side were going well he upped his average,it is currently 4.2 average and I believe it will go up roughly to his starting average or more so anyone who suggests Connor Mountain as a replacement are stupid as we would weaken our side even further.Connor is a rider for the future who il like but was dumped by Ipswich because he wasn't scoring pts Anyone who goes to the meet the riders after the home meetings understand the reasons for his dip in form, he got a raw deal off an ex Scunny rider over equipment he was sold from him , he is now living on the site at the track and loads of other things which have contributed to his dip in form The team which was set up by Rob has been desimated by injuries all season long yet we are still in there fighting for silverware on two fronts as I think the league position to qualify for the play offs is beyond us .So my call to supporters is back the team to the hilt hopefully Stefan will be back soon , as in past seasons we have been just seeing the season out from August if we win the cup or shield brilliant if we don't we have still witnessed some great racing on in my opinion the best and fairest race track in our league so come on get behind all 7 of our riders and see we're this journey takes us Up The Scorpions

SWC at Gorzow is a million times better than a glorified pairs event at any track. And SWC at any decent track is a much better event than a glorified pairs event at any track

Unless you don't have a track, that is. I find that people tend to defend their track from attacks by others rather than say how good it is.

Wonderful job done by the Facenna brothers to renovate the old stadium and a very good presentation yesterday but I felt that the track was too narrow and rather bumpy to encourage good, close racing. A real shame as the crowd were enthusiastic and willing the Brits to succeed. I must admit that after three years of watching racing at the NSS each week, it highlights the problems we have with many of our tracks and their preparation. I do, however, applaud the efforts to put such a meeting on and will support future such events. The club and their fans were first class.

To be fair... If Thousands of fans NOT attending each week, every year, for the past 20 or so, and finding something else better to do, hasn't influenced them one iota... Not really sure what else will to be honest....

I agree. Why didn't he pick Grajczonek, Klindt, Jakobsen and Woryna too? Rosco out.

I enjoyed that today.... well done Glasgow. Well deserved win for the boys from down under Just as I thought pre meeting, it was very difficult choosing who to cheer on with 5 X Monarchs split between the teams so I changed my allegiance from race to race Love or loathe Tai Woffinden, I have to say he makes riding a Speedway bike look so easy. He looks like he’s sitting in an old favourite armchair Big crowd, big noise.... nice touch with the free horns and flags Hope the collection for Lewis Kerr went well, get well soon lad

The top 16 Ekstraliga riders, 23 amazing races, the stars of the best speedway league in the world - all this can be seen today in Gdansk ( and on TV) during the 5th PGE Individual International Extraleague Championships. nSport + is covering this from from 6pm Polish time. Last year's title is defended by Czestochowa's Leon Madsen . Zenon Plech - individual runner-up in the world and one of the Gorzow's, Hackey's and Gdansk legends is convinced that competition will be interesting, because the line up consist of fifteen best of PGE Ekstraliga and one U-21 as a wild card, Bartosz Smektała, His favorite? All of them, but I think that Maciej Janowski, Patryk Dudek and Bartosz Zmarzlik will have a lot to say. They represent Poland in the Grand Prix and I bet on them. On Sunday, Zenon Plech will lwatch the EkstraLiga Riders Championship with a lot of sentiment There used to be the great splendor of the Elite League Riders' Championship in England, and the fantastic riders like Ivan Mauger, Barry Briggs or Ole Olsen won the competition. I am waiting impatiently for the Sunday competition - Zenon Plech concludes. Max Drabik will definitely come to Gdansk, although he did not take part in the Saturday final of the Polish Individual Final. Reason? Gastric flu. However, he must come to Gdańsk. If he would not, he would be prevented from competing in the next PGE Ekstraliga match. Drabik will come to Gdańsk, but he does not necessarily have to take part in the competition - reports sports.pl, The mere presence may save him from pausing a match in the EkstraLiga. He will most likely be replaced with the track reserve.

I read Phillipe's comments as it being an idea popular amongst promoters. But frankly, the Premiership is down to its dregs and the Championship is hardly looking that healthy either. A bigger league will at least offer more fixture variety, because repetition, regardless of the number of local derbies you stage, just becomes boring and encourages fans to miss particular teams they've already seen. It doesn't appeal to purists, although they're a dying breed anyway, but you can keep interest alive throughout the season by having half the teams qualify for 'playoffs'. You give teams finishing higher up the table some advantage like byes and second chances and it can still be credible. For me there should be just a couple of leagues - a merged Premiership and Championship run at a cost-effective level with maybe 14-16 teams, and a National League featuring the rest. In terms of riders per team, it really needs to come down to practicalities and what sort of match/meeting format you adopt. 5 rider teams are largely impractical if you're running a 15-heat programme because not you'll not only end-up with riders having to routinely take 6 programmed rides, but it's impossible to devise a heat format where you can avoid some riders getting two programmed rides on the trot. That just induces unnecessary delays, even before you factor in tactical subs, R/R, reserve rides etc... You can devise a reasonable heat format with 6 rider teams, although they become farcical if teams are allowed to turn up with only 5 riders (a la R/R without an additional rider having to nominate). And the savings are not going to be all that great beyond the travel expenses of one rider, because you're still having to pay out money for 15 heats and 4 of the 6 riders will be routinely taking an extra ride compared to now.

people who ride speedway for a living booking "breaks " haha it's not Mcdonalds you dont book 2 weeks off in the hope of getting some sunshine , because come septmeber you get 5 months off

Agree with the above thoughts, never nice to lose but it's a starting point. None of the Aussies apart from Proctor double up over here but instead ride in Sweden and Poland regularly, maybe therein lies the difference in class. Worrall is coming back from a broken leg and Ellis & Bewley have time on their side so it's not all doom and gloom.

Deary me you take defeat badly, I applaud those who have taken over Team GB for at least doing this meeting in the first place, hopefully it will be something that will happen on a regular bases both here and abroad. I don`t see how going to one league would make this team any better, quite the opposite in fact.

It would be a surprise if all clubs in a tiny 7 team league were not in with a chance of finishing fouth from bottom around the half way stage.

Bach and Proctor declared fit to ride.

DID you actually read where the money is coming from and the bigger picture. Plenty of Polish towns and cities pour money into their speedway clubs. Good to see a British one doing the same.
