Good to see Doyle hasn't broken anything. Not usually one to criticise Tatum but his commentary was woeful yesterday. I don't think he realised all night that Hansen was promoted into the meeting to replace Zmarzlik. They could do with having someone who understands the rules, can count and has the statistics to feed them that information.

Not sure they will gain much from this sport. All sounds a bit advanced for most speedway fans. Remember, most of them can't even find the GP coverage on the Discovery+ app.

As I said, it's the same in most sports today. In darts, for example, the players must agree to ALL the terms of the contracts, INCLUDING DISPLAYING THE MAIN SPONSOR(S) LOGOS. If not, they don't play. Like it or not, that's the way sports and sports contracts are these days. It was mentioned earlier how Zmarzlik was recently threatened with a fine for not standing in the correct position. It's the same with darts, and players can be fined for walking back from the board on the wrong side. Yes, ALL players are made aware of this stuff, so you can be sure that ALL GP riders know what they need to do.

I don’t think a speedway rider, given their ability to remember to display their sleeve sponsors, branded water bottle or logo cap at the mere sight of a camera, require reminding of their contractual obligations.

Apparently Zmarzlik was wearing "SAVE PETERBOROUGH SPEEDWAY" on his kevlars hence the disqualification.

I think that introducing a 20mph speed restriction in all built up areas is pure nonsense but that's just my personal opinion.

Spot on. It may seem absurd that 7.81 is an assessed average, but as a matter of fact it is. And is clearly shown as such on the Greensheets.

'It's not there now, the top's all flat, and beneath it is the bloke in the bowler hat. And that's that!'

He just posted this on his Instagram. For those unfamiliar with Polish, allow me to assist; ”They’re bothered about my race suit? Leon Madsen’s that small he gets his from Build-A-Bear. Phil Morris drink or choice is Lambrini and I’m going to win the world title in Toruń, anyway. Bye”

This is so funny ..You get to the final and you have to used Connor Bailey for the likes of Woofy and Magic . This final is a complete joke and has made the rest of the season a waste of time..its amazing people just ignore the crap rules in Polish speedway when be jumping upon anything crap rule in UK speedway..The biggest laugh is trying to make out this is going to be close . Watch out Bart Connor Bailey is next to you on the grid..

If next years gp’s get the”fresh” riders some posters on hear want because “it’s the same ones year by year” THEN you would see the weakest gp field ever for a whole gp year. Next year I would have in the current top 10 plus the SEC winner (possibly) Michelson as it stands, plus the 3 from GP challenge. The GP challenge May put Jan Kvech into next year GP…. that’s how the rules go, but IMO he is not GP quality….yet.

Belle Vue to their credit have shown the ability to run in conditions that other tracks couldn't cope with (far from ideal but possible) Given this and the complications (TV , further date extensions etc) that a postponement would cause I would expect it to go ahead unless Noah turns up with his ark

Ok so just to be cynical here. What if he did it on purpose because he was fully expecting to win the title last night? Then every photo on the Polish websites and newspapers would show him with his sponsor displayed front and centre. And from an FIM point of view of the only punishment was financial - even say they increased it to €10,000. Then what would stop the sponsor paying the fine for him - because that kind of exposure would be well worth the money to them…

Certainly the Commentators and Media are not putting their head above the parapet on this one, watching their backsides in case their jobs are at risk maybe. No opinions apart from “ in the rules”

On issue 32 of the Team Declarations https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2023-premiership-declarations/ Robert Lambert has an * against his name. The key says that means an assessed average

I'd prefer nobody was injured, guests on both sides takes the shine off the tie. This is one of the issues with Play Offs unfortunately.

Incredible that no one told him to not go out in those kevlars... So many must have known... Including him, his team and all the meeting officials, as all will be privvy to the rules, and any consequences.... All very strange...

Haven't we suffered enough with the Doyle situation without being subjected to that whinging pr!ck

Don’t understand the amount of people defending Zmarzlik. He knows the rules like every single rider in the field, even the reserves would know them! They’ve followed the rules and are being professional, and people still twine and complain! Sponsors will have it wrote in a contract agreement to display there logo in certain places etc. People seem to forget without these sponsors, we wouldn’t have the GP series or it wouldn’t have the field it has. Rules are rules, break them and pay the consequences no matter who you are. Would people be kicking off this much if it was Kim Nilsson or Patryk Dudek? I think not.

Sponsors have paid a small fortune to have their name plastered on the riders kevlars, especially the Infinate Reality splashed front and center. For the WC to not have this but his own sponsor is a major breach of the rules. More I think about it, I can understand why he has been punished. Won’t make a mistake like that again.

I appreciate the frustration at Zmarzlik’s disqualification from the meeting, but these rules are set in FIM contracts which the riders adhere to; Zmarzlik has no-one to blame, but himself. I’m assuming it’s sponsor-related. Any external investment in speedway is welcome and appreciated, so riders cannot pick and choose what they wear when it comes to advertising.
