So Australia rode their 4 heats against the teams who finished in the top 4, Russia, Poland, Denmark and Sweden.. If they'd got to ride against GB and the Czechs they would of been making the top 3 easily, just shows how ridiculous calling a meeting part-way through is. Mark Lemon was quite right to be a bit pissed off!7 points

Hopefully, and with a better choice of when to run it we might well not get the complete farce tonight’s match was. That meeting was a dreadful advert for the sport and should never have started.4 points

You call it "cup"... and I call it CRAP. Bring back Daily Mirror Tournament of 1973...then we can talk about CUP...if not that then a minimum of 5 riders from each competing nation...and if not even that, ten four riders as we used to have few years back...two ridewrs don't make a team... its a pair and I don't have argument with this. So don't call "cup", don't call it SoN, byt call what it is..Pairs Championship4 points

Oh dear, what was that! Surely it should have been postponed until tomorrow morning. Speedway really does itself no favours at times.4 points

I don’t know why nobody on this thread has suggested moving the event to Torun. The weather there is good all weekend apparently and it’s only a four hour drive away...4 points

To the riders I have the upper most respect and well done for riding but in the interest of the the sport the meeting should not have started it's made it look like a Micky mouse sport again3 points

I have to disagree Steve. Janowski and Pawlicki pulled sickies in order to miss a Polish international match. Zmarzlik is better than both Janowski and Pawlicki but he still shows up to every international match. Polish fans are very much behind Cieslak.2 points

He has been my favourite rider for the past seven years, but he can be frustratingly inconsistent. When on top form he is undoubtedly the most talented and exciting rider in the world.2 points

BIT confused because the Ove Fundin trophy is normally awarded to the winners and it looks nothing like that ...2 points

"He looks like a flying hairpin"... you don't get Speedway commentary like that anymore, brilliant!2 points

It can be wet or dry in July, August or October. There is no pattern to the UK weather, it is pot luck what we get. Maybe it's best later in our year to give the best chance of having crowds back2 points

Haha, a good evening for us. I had £100 on Russia to finish in the top 2 which returned £250. Wish I was brave enough to bet on them to win outright but the grand final would have been a lottery.1 point

Once you go past heat 14 you can only get a fair result after heat 21 because at no point inbetween will all seven teams have raced the same number of heats.1 point

Everything set up for Poland. Home track, meet Denmark after they have ready run a heat. Whole season has been set up for the Poles. Write it out of the history books. It’s a set up.1 point

So we will know about 6.05 pm Uk time then, when Phil Morris nnounces it? And yesterday he said if it is not on as a one day event on Saturday , it will not be held. Maybe Boris J. is heading the "What to do next FIM /BSI panel"?1 point

Very sad news. I also remember the Rybnik visit to Poole in 1965. Relatively unknown riders making a sensational impact on a very large crowd. Great days. RIP Pogo.1 point

Rider averages will never be an accurate reflection of true ability because - at least in Britain - each riding position meets the opposition riders a different number of times and under different circumstances. Reserves in particular tend to have easier races in comparison to heat leaders, and the No. 2 position in the classic heat formula generally had easier opposition than the rest of the top 5, although the downside was that Heat 8 was always the obvious place to do a (double) tactical substitution. But as with cricket, there's all sorts of factors such as when you're put into bat or expected to bowl. Case in point is Freddie Flintoff who's batting and bowling averages were never exceptional by classic all-rounder standards, yet every team in the world would have been happy for him to play for them.1 point

People are after him but he’s also said he might stay at Tarnow yet for another season.1 point
