Maybe call the stand the legends stand and do a online vote to establish ten riders who deserve a place and have ten large photo boards mounted in the stand. be handy if you are meeting someone at the stadium as you can say I’ll be in the south stand in the Chris Morton section. a club of such heritage in a modern stadium should remember the history like they do for Peter craven.4 points

Interesting that Wolves were aware of his intentions and said no to a rider on a complete steal of an average. That sounds to me like he is asking for terms well above what clubs will now pay, if he eventually does do a deal somewhere I hope we don’t see another club going to the wall trying to pay it.3 points

That’s Luke confirmed now… I would imagine Mason being no.6 but like you say it leaves us under the limit… could Ben possibly head to Armadale for small track experience and we fit Danny Phillips in to get us close to team building limit? I personally ain’t fussed… I just enjoyed the bullets for what it was meant to be last season… the chance for the future to progress locally as well as some spectacular sights displayed by Greg Blair!2 points

As ever, thanks Islander for setting it up - hopefully next season we can all enjoy a NDL season with more meetings throughout the year, and no early season ending injuries for those we pick!2 points

Typical speedway…..we don’t know how it will work and neither do the people who brought it in, it will just get made up when it suits them .2 points

anyway predictions are just for fun so i will go for top four not in any order oxford poole glasgow plymouth2 points

I understand and sympathise!!! However if you are seeking a warmer climate and more enjoyable times, the answer is simple - move to Poole!! In the meantime enjoy your snowballs!2 points

Couldn't agree more, for first time under the facenna ownership we have 4 riders in the team with potential instead of the potential to be the rider they used to be. 4 guys under 23 and Hume starting to reach his potential after years of gettin left on the scrapheap. Sure be ups and downs along the way but the entertainment value should be right up there2 points

I’ve got and read both books and the second one is even better as it’s got more of his career content in it.2 points

Please don't ask for a link, as I had a computer crash, when I was checking possible ice racing options for this winter. Subject to there being no or limited restrictions on attending events the Finnish final is proposed at Varkaus on 26th February. Sadly the airport closed a few years ago to passenger flights so would be a difficult journey from UK for us. Not asked for but Weissenbach, which we have done by public transport, are similarly awaiting details from the Austrian government but seemingly have a plan in place to run if they are allowed the crowd level. I can find no info regarding potential events in Czechia.2 points

As a Poole fan looking in on the the Glasgow have built,am a bit jealous tbh looks quality strength in every department and definite improvement with Brennan potentially going upto atleast 7,basso upto 6-7,think Nicol could we'll get upto a mid 6 aswell. And to take into Consideration that the reserves will improve no doubt also and that alone takes bundles of pressure of ostergaard considering he's coming back from injury and Cook aswell with so much scoring power throughout this team.2 points

I don’t think the club will be bothered that much about the points limit, BEN and MASON will be nailed on imo.1 point

Fingers crossed we get some good news. Hopefully also some team news, although think it will be a bit of an anti climax as the ongoing stadium discussions and all except Birmingham's last 3 riders and Berwick 1 rider have kind of eliminated any guessing. I for one will be greatly relieved when they do announce all okay, and also intrigued by who we go for at number 7. Iv'e aired my views on here a few times who Iwould prefer, but honestly i'll just be relieved we have a team to race in 2022 .1 point

It'll be documented in the rule book, but that's not available to us online yet. (Don't know whether officials have the rule book - I presume so - I was told about the no.8s by an official). You do seem to be confusing 2 separate things though. You're confusing "No.8" (a secondary rising star to cover for a missing rising star in the Premiership ), with the "AR" (additional rider) which may be named by a team using R/R in any league. The "AR" (additional rider) rule has been around a long time. (See regulation 12.4.3g, 12.4.3h and 13.6.2f). For 2021 a team using R/R can name an "AR" to cover any of the R/R rides. In the Premiership an "AR" has to be a Championship rider 3.00 or less. In the Championship the AR has to be a National League rider. In the National League the AR needs to be an unattached 3.00. People sometimes colloquially call the "AR" a No.8. But the actual title is "Additional Rider" and it's nothing to do with the Rising Star scheme.1 point

Not sure if Nicol isn't one of those riders that flatters to deceive and just flat lines around 6 points. Occasionally brilliant, occasionally dross, solid second string overall. Still he won't have the responsibility of scoring big every meeting that he may have elsewhere and that may help him. Basso looks an outstanding typically Danish prospect. If he can dial in to Ashfield and stay fit he could be the new Ramus Jensen for the Tigers. Hume and Bailey can both add a point at least. Brennan looks the next big British rider after Tai, Lambert and Bewley. Although not in the way planned getting away from the comfort zone of a track like Eastbourne may be the making of him. Riders like Gordon Kennett, Martin Dugard and others have all admitted in hindsight they should have sought experience on bigger tracks sooner and riding Belle Vue, Glasgow and in Poland will improve him immeasurably. His links with Craig Cummings will also be a big and massive boost, the mentorship of a professional guide who has excelled on the SGP stage. Craig Cook can still be the out and out best in the CL and everyone will wish Ulrich all the best. The ones to beat for me.1 point

I think it's fair to say that most Glasgow fans don't think we'll win the league. However we do think we are in for a fantastic season of exciting speedway. Last year we wondered whether Ulle, Ricky and Justin would do the business or would they play safe and settle for the position they were in after the 2nd bend. Ulle was unbelievable and refused to believe he was beaten. Ricky and Justin were predictable. Sam Jensen was spectacular when the track was grippy and I hope he is not lost to speedway in the UK. However their replacements Tom, Benjamin and Danyon are committed exciting young riders who will more than replace the outgoing trio. Add in the quality of our track staff and a brilliant track, which has been praised by many other riders and officials, and you can see why Glasgow fans are looking forward to a season of brilliant racing 'out of the top drawer'.1 point

May need to save these words so that 12 mths from now the only edit required is a 3 for a 2 and then so on hopefully1 point

Glasgow's biggest problem for a while now has been getting their riders to all perform together. They've built sides for several years with the potential to win the league, but they always seem to have one or two not performing. Team spirit and all pulling together is the last 5% that gets sides over the line, and I think this has been their biggest weakness for a while. Hopefully soon it will all come together because their fans and owners deserve it. It'll be interesting to see how this year goes, sometimes you can have all the right ingredients, but the chef can still produce something that tastes not quite right.1 point
-
Wouldn't disagree with you there, I think if ulle can come back and average anything over 7 be happy with that given the potential elsewhere. I think the big hope would be that Tom can step up to genuine heat leader in 2022. Had more of a steady season as first out of reserve berth but still increased average slightly, and now dialled into the track sky's the limit for him... Hopefully1 point

There lies the problem with Speedway. Pushing it to the back of you mind for the next winter will prove to be to late. There needs to be written, tight, legal paperwork of promise & contracts for rebuild on future grounds for Speedway. Without this, any reference to a regulation means nothing without land registered & planning permission granted for a new stadium. Words coming out the mouth of a Councillor should be taken with a pinch of salt. People within Speedway & it's fans never learn, just believing "we'll never close for good".1 point

I don’t think Trackerman has to make anything up. He was track curator for the second half of last season and it doing the track at Poole in 2022. So pretty sure he hears/knows things straight from the top. And if you are not happy or are very happy with track conditions this coming season, you will be able to discuss it directly with the main guy.1 point
-
The obvious answer is for track to be guaranteed or provided before planning permission granted . I see no enthusiasm for Speedway in the platitudes issued from prospective developers. Greed and avarice is forever the driving factor..1 point

Liked the old Poole track layout which allowed you right up close to the action - which added to the spectacle. Always enjoyed the old Canterbury track which allowed you to get up close to the action and the flying shale.1 point

yep very good side. so if max is been brought in on his birthday who's for the chop and season hasn't even started1 point

Whatever team you support, if you think the BSPL raising Woffinden's average so he can't return to Britain would be right then you need your head checked. Nothing should allow this opportunity to be passed up.1 point

Don't think I have seen him on a 500 but looks good on his 250. He had some good races with Luke and he is the 250cc champion. If he makes progress through the season then that's the main thing. If he has half as good a season as Sam McGurk has just had he will be doing his job in the team.1 point

I'm sure I've seen her at Lynn while she's been staying at Sandringham, wading through the puddles in the back straight car park and queueing for a burger and a pint during during the interval. I wonder if she pays the extra pound to sit or likes to stand on the bends and get a scalp full of shale?1 point

I disagree about the negative PR bit. Although Dan (and others) are named as #8 for PL sides, they are not guaranteed any outings! So Dan (and others) are predominately going to be CL & NDL riders with the occasional PL outing. Are you saying that Dan (and others) should miss out on potentially 10+ confidence boosting NDL meetings in favour of a few (if any) PL meetings?1 point
-
Nothing personal against Dan - But it looks like he will be riding in all 3 leagues! This gives G.B. speedway no credibility & shows what a bunch of incompetent "persons" we have running our sport. With many riders riding for 2 different teams that is so negative P.R. as it is - But 3 different leagues, totally bonkers.1 point

Maybe a conversation needs to be had with the excellent councillor Swindon had who promised housing development wouldn't effect the Robins racing. That's gone well hasn't it. If you trust these people, more fool you1 point

Lets hope Rye House speedway return cause I'm sure a properly ran operation on a Saturday night in the NL or the Championship would draw viable crowds!1 point
