  4. I'm pretty sure once Atkins' ban for withholding service is over Plymouth will have to sign a replacement. My guess on the other two is that while their prognosis or return date remains uncertain we will continue to have a facility to use. But I'd be shocked if we didn't sign Morley until Gilkes returns (if indeed he does this season). While I don't know specifics I do know Plymouth are actively looking at replacements for both short and long term however it's not always easy with the low availability of riders and the politics in the continued farcical world of the BSPA.

  6. I honestly don’t understand what all the fuss is about using guests. Plymouth started the season with a full 7 riders and have lost 2 to serious injuries and 1 rider has quit the team so the situation is not of their own making. We know from pre season that teams were struggling to even fill their teams so there isn’t going to be a long list of riders out there to replace them with. As a spectator, I would rather spend my money going to to a meeting and watching a team with guests if needs be in order to make it a good meeting to watch with similar strength teams on track rather than punish their misfortune.

  7. Not if you're not a queue jumper it wasn't, saw one moron in front of me in a great big black Ford Ranger (I think) almost get into a road rage incident as he barged his way into the queue instead of joining the back... he must have a very small penis

  16. Kurtz would most likely of been beaten twice by MPT but for the extra grip MPT got in ht6 and then Kurtz lifting and veering right causing MPT to back off his speed in ht15 You seem to have a beef about Peterborough as most of your posts are just having a dig at them and there age,

  17. Has Atkins got aNDL Team place.? Don’t think Champoinship Clubs will be queuing up for him with that attitude.

  18. 3-4 K i would expect( don’t forget the GP ticket holders are admitted free. point 4 and 5 is just plainly ridiculous. Things have changed for the better. Opportunities have grown with the Polish Extraleague U 24 league. Our youngsters are gaining more experience in the FIM Europe events which we were never really interested in- but it takes time and the results will be seen in the future.

  19. How could anyone scrape the shale to make that "groove" without being noticed? The ridge on either side of it is concrete that has been pushed out when the kerb was laid into the wet concrete.

  24. Hats off to Harris Wright and Nicholls, superb action in heats 13 and 15. Great meeting with good action and the odd couple of controversial refereeing decisions. Track was superb with several lines and gates much more even.

  25. That's a bit crass? Can't blame Newcastle for making the rules. Am sure Poole have utilized the rules in the past, and will do in the future.

  29. We have a packed out schedule until September, and have got 2 very popular former Bandits in as guests. But I do completely understand what you mean, it’s not our team, but a lot of fans will be very happy to see Complin ride in Bandits colours again.

  31. I wouldn’t go that far, but I do cringe when I see ‘experienced’ curators dragging the dirt from the outside to the inside. That just makes it worst, dragging loose dirt onto the inside and destroying the dirt line that is building up.

  35. Completely agree, last season your team overachieved and will be remembered for winning against the odds. This year more back to normal. The track has been the same since 2019, but somehow when you're winning it looks different.

  36. Just because a rider is alive and breathing doesn't mean they are available. I'm aware of Plymouth courting at least one rider and genuinely saying "name your price" and still not able to get them to sign, so I believe they are trying very hard to replace Kennett. The only way around these issues is Squads. and squads don't work in the UK because the sport cannot afford squads. Squads only happen with big signing on fees, that's the only way a rider is prepared to make themselves available for work and not be employed while someone else is riding.

  40. Now if someone said it was to lure German fans to stay the weekend, I’d believe it… Cos they did the exact same thing about 20 years ago when Gerd Riss was the wild card in a gp.

  43. I used to love going to Kings Lynn bank holiday Monday… Lynn vAces 1100…pm meeting at Rye house….evening internationale at wimbledon Always rated Lynn in my top 3 sadly in recent years the quality of racing has deteriorated such that I do not rate the track at all… often well prepared track with grip everywhere an no advantage whatever line you use.

  45. Ha, yeah, did they sell double glazing as well? I'd heard that if you continually adjust your clutch cable on the start line and also drop the clutch repeatedly so the bike lurches forwards, you will make blinding starts, nothing to do with anything else.

  46. 65-25!! Only thing i can see as a positive for Newcastle is there used to a rubbish track so Poole’s shouldn't catch them out

  47. I didn't think there was a serious risk of Birmingham letting this match slip away, the only risk probably being that Laurence would have been pilloried on this forum if things had gone awry, .and in my opinion, most Birmingham supporters were happy to see James given his fourth ride, given the level of entertainment he had provided in his previous rides. Undoubtedly, James deserved more than a single point for his efforts but was unfortunate in having to meet Simon Lambert in all four of his races. I'm not suggesting that Lambert did anything wrong - he didn't - but he is a big, powerful bloke and a lightweight like James inevitably found himself shunted out of the way despite his sharp gating and his willingness to get in amongst the pack. Not that he was complaining for I noticed that he and Lambert shook hands with each other warmly in the pits at the end of the meeting. As for the rather sneering comment that he "isn't a Birmingham asset" - well it is common knowledge that he is on loan from Belle Vue, but it is likely to be 3/4 years before he is ready to move up to Premiership level and as he gets on well with the Birmingham consortium and is extremely popular with the supporters, I see no reason why he wouldn't want to remain with the Brummies until Belle Vue eventually recall him, and in any case, how many British clubs in all three divisions track a team of their own riders? Not one of them does or it seems, is ever likely to do given the way that speedway has gone over the last few years..
