If it was a 'lack of shale' then there must have been umpteen other similar surfaces this season so why did the tyres not disintegrate on those? I know you are desperate to beat your club with every available stick but the logical explanation is that the batch of tyres were particularly crap.

I wanted to give it a couple of days just to wait and see, so here goes... After every GP, there are always a bunch of posters who come on here whining about the stupid points system, and how it's ridiculous that a rider can squeeze into the semis, yet come away with the most points. I see now, that only applies to non-British winners, 'cos NOBODY has said that since Dan won!!!

And nobody is talking about the elephant in the room and it’s been in the room for years ,in the last 15-20 years the revs on a speedway bike have increased dramatically, tyres can’t cope, valves springs can’t cope, tracks can’t cope, nothing has been achieved racing wise or cost wise and safety wise has gone backwards, the only ones to benefit are the tuners and even they will tell you they don’t make enough, it is a misconception that speedway is faster now, it isn’t, the bikes are traveling at roughly the same speed as the upright days, the difference is the speed of the spinning wheel has increased hugely and you run a tyre spinning at that speed with around 6psi what the hell do you expect, yes mitas were a better tyre than anlas but there isn’t a tyre manufacturer in the world that could produce a tyre that wouldn’t get ripped to shreds on a current speedway bike, will speedway learn from its mistakes ? I doubt it

But whilst they are at the Speedway they are not using their own lighting and heating at home, so saving money... UK Speedway ahead of the curve.....

Never in all my years watching what used to be a great sport have I ever heard such nonsense in all my life.meeting abandoned due to lack of tyres just about sums up the state of the sport in this country.if I had been attending that debacle today then that would have been the last time ever I would have attended any meeting.The whole season has been a complete shambles what with guests,meetings delayed and various other anomalies,is there any wonder at all that people are drifting away from the sport,myself included.The sport here doesn't give a damn about it,s supporters and now the tables are being turned.sad,sad times indeed.

If anyone seriously thinks that the Redcar promotion coerce or force riders to race, they need to take a good look at themselves.

I thought I'd seen it all in almost 60 years of watching speedway, but "no tyres" available is a new one on me! Surely somebody's head has to roll over this monumental cock up? The fans that paid full price to watch this must be livid. Almost difficult to believe, but then this sport is renown for shooting itself in the foot. Can you wonder the general public can't take it seriously.

I'd heard that the airfence was Eastbourne bound until a higher bidder came in ( or should I say from what I was told that our former diamonds owner tried to call the bluff & it never worked ) and they were messed about but eventually got it at a price well below the valuation.. so I say well done & good luck over in cumbria

Joking aside £20 for 10 heats doesn’t = value for money - really am finding it difficult to see how the sport can survive in the UK sadly

they can only use what's supplied at the track, other than spare bike which has to be a used tyre

Given the general making it up as you go along approach of modern speedway surely the sensible thing in these very unusual circumstances was for the referee and both teams to have agreed that each team could have and use extra new tyres do the public weren't short changed and a 'proper result' achieved

Presumably it's either a major fault with the manufacture of the tyres or something dangerous in the track surface/preparation?

That's stretching it! Don't get why that keeps anyone entertained, let alone why it seems to be the now go to anthem? I like the bit where they keep stopping it. Can we make the gap about 5 minutes.

I guess we don't want to be like last year with finals taking place in November. Why not just get on with the meetings? What's the point in delaying things for no real reason? We know the weather is going to start getting wetter from now on.

It wouldn't surprise if there where more tyres, but they were not allowed to use them. It would be good if we found out.

First meeting of the season and well didn’t we choose a good one? All in all the racing was close and we weren’t really aware of any issues up until Scott had his problem in heat 9. Who ever thinks even at this stage of his career that it doesn’t mean as much you should have seen Nicholls reaction storming back into the pits launching his goggles and giving the wall being his pit a mighty wallop. Then in Heat 10 with Basso who I must say was really good all night and then as you will see on sky’s coverage his tyre and inner tube just exploded in bits all over the track. Then fair play after the interval the promoter had the decency to explain what was going on, was wondering why such a long interval, is it something in the material potentially to do that much damage, they need some testing done on it as it will just happen again the next home meeting? If it is the tyres then surly they are unsafe for the entire league? Value for money wise... 2/3 of a meeting seen for full price due to a major issue with either track material or tyre so not really happy but can understand for rider safety why but not good if you have paid £20 for 10 races and a 120 mile round trip. Sums up the panthers season as had these punctures not happened they would have been level at least if not leading.

Complete sets (without the original album) go for around £100, and individual cards are £3-4. I have the set, but it's not the original album.
