disagree. Riders need to learn to ride conditions that aren't perfect. The more experienced riders are having no problems, the kids on their rocket ships are getting out of control. Or should we just wrap them in cotton wool? half the problem now is the tracks they learn on are too slick and predicable they never learn how to deal with anything that isn't perfect5 points

I have to agree with a previous poster Poole are a juggernaut at the moment nigh on unstoppable love them or loath them you have to admire them and I wish my team could be a successful as them well done Poole fair play to you.4 points

Well, that's the first season of the "new era" under Discovery Sports Events... and I'm far from impressed. They seem to have taken the sport back about 20 years! They've lost most of their major sponsors, crowds appear to be amongst the lowest we've ever seen for a GP series, some badly prepared tracks, they've almost killed Cardiff, the racing has generally been, I'll be polite, forgettable, series wrapped up before the final GP, incomprehensible scoring system, no Aussie GP and Russian GP (understandable), neither were replaced in the calendar. Terrible TV coverage often missing the racing when there was some, inaccurate and random captions, horrible noise over EVERY replay. Still the pits look nice and some people have said they've enjoyed the post meeting fireworks!4 points

Bit shaky camerawork, but the ten minutes of this 8mm silent home movie of a USA v WORLD Speedway test match in 1974 at Costa Mesa, California, is nevertheless worth watching.3 points

The scheduling was a nonsense and has to be addressed (you'd think...).3 points

Congratulations to Poole much too good for us tonight and last Wednesday. Another season and sadly it departed with a feeble whimper tonight , sadly when it came to the business end we were simply not good enough.3 points
-
So Cami declared Starke to BSN but another rider to the ref?3 points
-
Whether he wants to or not Tom Brennan should not be allowed back out. I'm thirty feet away and he can't walk a straight line.3 points
-
Good start to night for the ref with a shocking call. Should’ve been both them excluded basso fell on his own.3 points

Personally I don't see a problem with signing Lambert at number 1,,,but not sure Simon is up to it.3 points
-
And the long term injury line is in the same section as the window and only applies within the window......(rightly or wrongly that's how it is) Belle Vue fans are making themselves look totally foolish making such a meal out of this3 points

Not a good couple of weeks for Speedway in Scotland.2 points

You make it sound close.2 points

Promoters and riders appear to be the biggest problem, it should be the BSPL telling clubs when fixtures have to be run by to stop this nonsense. God forbid there should be an outbreak of common sense.2 points

Just shows he doesn't know what he's doing2 points

I hope so. We all want to see two full sides, injury free and in the groove on two good tracks for the final with the best team winning.2 points

Poole are a juggernaut at present, unstoppable and all fit and well. I do think they've scheduled the fixtures well too, always on the go and never any huge gaps in the fixtures for them, unlike a lot of the opposition, glasgows lack of meetings has been ridiculous2 points
-
The only thing I can think of is that Starke didn’t qualify under the heat 15 rules and that was the only way to get him in the heat? Because you can put a reserve in heat 15 if the originally nominated rider is excluded I think - I’m sure that happened once last year?2 points
-
Fair play to Poole. Much the better team over the two legs. Hope they win the final. The match itself was a bit rubbish. Not a lot of racing - probably more in heat 15 than the rest of the meeting. Personally, I think it’s just too late in the year and getting too cold. I live in hope things will be settled earlier next season.2 points
-
Good ride from Kemp. Hopefully gjve him some confidence.2 points

Nicol was the obvious error, and Cooks stock has dropped. But the big blows were the losses of Ostergaard and Hume. Not saying that they'd have beaten Poole with those two fit but they'd have stood a much better chance. Luck with injuries and momentum are massive going into Play Offs, Poole have both and Glasgow neither.2 points

Presentations mid meeting. Place is a joke at running meetings efficiently, get on with it.2 points

Did I just see Havvy smoking in front of a no smoking sign!!2 points

The refused has kindly asked me to send his winnings to the bend fund( not £9500 ) which i`m more than happy to do.2 points

We certainly like an exclusion even with a 10 point deficit this team would be incapable of overturning that never mind 30 points. Major rethink on how we build our team for next season.2 points
-
Let's not forget though, as we've been told all week since Wednesday, this is a track that 'always provides great racing'!! Hope all riders are OK.2 points
-
Just when the refereeing is under scrutiny we get a clueless decision. How can they come up with these decisions2 points

Cook exc fine not under power. Basso fell on his own and is allowed in? Shocking call!2 points

They could do with showing a 'virtual leader' board at any time during racing, like they do in other sports such as MotoGP, then you would have a better idea of the standings at any time, and a rider would know what they have to do in order to challenge for a better place in the standings2 points

We both have had better. To be honest I lost interest with the prolonged lay off1 point
-
I think Poole will muller lester tbh, 6-8 weeks of inactivity is just daft. We know the sports not what is what but teams basically stopping mid august and then starting again in October is just crazy. It needs sorting via the promoters before next season1 point
-
Both need their third ride. No T/S in playoffs1 point

Good points but the same weaknesses have persisted all season. Nicol looks like he's never ridden Ashfield before.1 point

Likeable lad is Connor Bailey. Wish him well in his career. Didnt know he was an Aussie.1 point

If you look on the BSPA site under Premiership you will find the league cup and pairs come under the Premiership title. Therefore anything in which involves the top teams in those competitions are classed as premiership. So the rule clearly states any transfers for the Premiership can only come in between 25%-75% of league fixtures.I don't know what is hard to understand really. They made it quite simple imo.1 point

Seems bizarre that you'd be happy to lose your number 1 rider who very rarely gets injured, committed to British speedway etc for the likes of Tungate1 point

Agree, they are still top riders but living on reputation. It’s a closed shop IMO for some. There has to be a different Qualification system if you are not in the Top6.If Woffy ,Doyle and others make it through fair play to them.1 point
-
A year out would probably give him the kick up the arse he needs, a criticism of the series Id have is that riders for too long have been able to dine out on past years performances rather than how they have performed that year, or their energy drink sponsor affiliation...1 point
-
Regarding Woffinden getting a wild card, with 2 Brits already qualified I’d say the odds are against it.1 point
-
Same plan as Thursday. .. Let Doyle win his five races, no risks taken racing him if he is in front, and win the majority of the other 10 races... Good audition for Klindt for the final too...1 point
-
Janowski is a very talented rider and a class act on the bike, but this season has been a bit of nightmare for him for some reason. At least when interviewed a couple of weeks ago he didn’t give the usual bullsh#t about machinery and set-ups he blamed himself.Good Guy IMO.Thought a couple of years ago he could be World Champ but not so sure now.1 point

Disagree with that comment, think both Hume & Mountain have progressed this year too. Plus Jack Thomas was going well for in his first Premiership campaign till he got injured! Get rid of the "rising stars" and these promising Brits may end up getting dropped. With all the issues with Brexit & Polish rules, it makes sense to have rules encouraging more Brits in teams.1 point
