Who gives a toss? Any little credibility the sport had in this country completely disappeared when doubling up got out of control & both leagues are virtually the same riders. You could accept one rider doubling up in the top league for experience but it's a mess now. Look at the farcical situation with guests now as well & facilities handed out for riders who haven't even rode this season. If riders can't make one league pay then get a job. The credibility of the sport is more important than any riders income.10 points

He should harden the fk up and get on with it. Thats what I think Ben would be saying just now.8 points

The main reason Speedway clubs fold is due to largely, poor stadia, compared to other sports or activities on offer, no promotion, a near total disregard for their fan base, an amateurish “show” confusing rules, no meaningful competitions, which this leads to very little credibility and therefore exposure in media and the failure to attract sponsorship or investment. The failure to tap in a young audience on social media platforms. AFTV (Arsenal Fan TV) have approx 1.5 million followers on their YouTube channel alone. It was started by 1 man (many since and before have shows/podcasts resulting in exposure, advertising, merchandise resulting from this & expanding revenue streams). AFTV don’t have anything to even sell… no game/no club/no museum/no access to players… the list goes on. Speedway bosses have a product they could market to the whole world, they could interview riders, ex riders.. referees.. supporters, do bike examinations, show behind the scenes, team manager interviews, merchandise, tickets… do podcasts, show old clips… ANYTHING… what do they do… next to idiot all! I used to attend Rye, from when my parents took me from 6months old.. we went to Mildenhall, P’boro, Lynn, Milton Keynes regularly. Rye was a great venue, with potential if there was investment for it to be a picturesque stadium and good night out. I’m not sure the track design/set up, like Wolves gave that good racing.. Yet, you’d have these old codgers as track staff, smoking as they came out, some fat bloke as start Marshall with his top barely over his belly, waving to his mates on parade, the contrast being the riders & their bikes pristine. It’s shabby.. scruffy, lazy and embarrassing.. it’s professional sport.. that should apply to staff too. Image and perception is just as important. The latest trend to keep the sagging tapes from hitting the track floor is the ORANGE TRAFFIC CONE!! Seriously.. it looks rubbish on TV.. well it just looks rubbish. Add in the weather factor and all the other issues people raise. Address the above and you may just get the footfall back. Many well known high street shops disappeared because they didn’t adapt to the modern day market place.. and Speedway could well be that equivalent. That’s my opinion anyway.4 points

I think it's rather unlikely they'll manage to sell 20k season tickets with a ground that has a 17k capacity.3 points

1. Actually thought they are doing well on the social media side generally. Maybe Leicester not that great at it? Though I mainly use twitter and Instagram. Don't like tiktok. 2. Interestingly when I talk to people about speedway I always think they won't know what I'm on about. But must of the time I get 'oh yeah, I used to go to that ..' 3. Not sure how the 2 min rule is complicated or the super heat tbf! But I already said you don't tell new people the rules!!!!! Fatal error 4. Sounds like you need to trip to Plymouth lol, she can watch Richie and Kyle all she likes then. 5. Luckily my 11yr old isn't into it at the moment seeing as her fave rider Danny King isn't at Poole anymore. From my 11 yr olds pov, too long in between races, she says it's boring (then again I'm not sure she has actually seen a last heat decider at Poole!) She was into it for 2021 and 2022 but it was it lol.2 points

Common sense would dictate they should be kept apart on the semi finals, but this is speedway, so you never know!2 points

The BBC is the worst weather forecast you could possibly look at, very very seldom get it even close,2 points

100% agree, but.. The tipping point has well passed.. A rudderless ship for decades, ran by collectively making things up on the spur of the moment, with zero clear direction of travel and standards governance, has driven thousands away who still passionately follow the sport via other various media, but dont attend their local tracks regularly.. Which is a shame given the on track entertainment which is as good as in, if not better, any era I have watched.. If all the surrounding negative issues matched the actual product, the sport would be flying, instead they undermine it appallingly..2 points

Every Peterborough fan already knew who Buster was when he took over. You'd seen the bargain teams put together at King's Lynn, why anyone would expect different at Peterborough is unbelievable & stupid. He'd saved you from early closure & won a title on a shoestring. MT has to take blame for making promises he couldn't deliver on. Buster works to a very strict budget & it's always been that way. Most outsider's would see what he's done in his short tenure as an excellent job. Us at King's Lynn have never seen a top flight title, Buster delivered one almost immediately, we should be the immensely bitter ones to be fair.2 points

Now now at his age he doesn't get excited very often I don't suppose lol.2 points

At youth levels Kyle Bickley won just about everything there was to win and looked a real prospect. Sadly for him since he took the step up to senior league racing he has went pretty much nowhere either with Workington, Glasgow, Berwick and now Edinburgh. Certainly looks the part, well turned out, good equipment but just lacking the necessaries to make the step up.2 points

Poor night at the office. Well done Bandits though - strong all through the team. Watch BSN stream for a change. Greg Blair was fantastic - such a natural at the job!! Interesting he talked to Jacob Hook about the split start & finish lines and about it being stressed to the riders not to shut off too early. So what does Paco do.................?!! (Well it looked like that to me.)2 points

Social media side from a leicester point of view I think is weak. Just the odd photo and interview here n there. Just look at a football clubs social media it's posting atleast 3/4 times a day. Yes she loved Ritchie but doesn't get the rules why he's no longer with us. I said it's hard to explain and you'll get used to it. Problem is that I'm not even 30 yet and still got a little way to go so my generation has never seen a bike turn left yet (well most haven't)1 point

Birmingham can afford to loan their riders out, they had no chance of qualifying lol!1 point

Another of those things that does the sport so few favours if it is ever to be taken seriously... Lost a good rider? No problem. Borrow any of ours whenever you need them.. With the Polish rule changes, there must be a fair few who would ride over here now, on Nicki P's terms too I would think given he wouldnt have been cheap. (Even at 'mates' rates).. RR only should be the option as that would mean the Promoters get a shift on in getting another rider in..1 point

Pedersen & Iversen were never the answer, and i said as much many weeks ago. Buster got lucky in 2021, largely due to Oystercards inflated average when he got injured, but apart from that it's been wooden spoons every year in the top league. People blaming MT for the current situation are just deflecting Chapmans historical inability to build a competitive team. Even worse, he's ruined the track with his cheap and nasty clay. He won't be getting another penny of my hard earned...1 point

I don't really understand this idea that British speedway could become semi professional or be at a lower championship standard. I feel many won't turn up anymore if there's no Doyle, holder, Bewley or Fricke. As an Ipswich fan I feel I've seen an increase in fans with Doyle coming in and the increase in entertainment he and Sayfutinov have brought is fantastic. They can miss the gate and still make their way to the front with some great passes. Maybe we will have to go to a 5 team league to keep the big names and make sure the top young UK talent we have can keeps developing with the hope Glasgow/Oxford/Poole/Workington make the step up in future. I feel social media is the issue. British Speedway have no TikTok account and whilst the Instagram is better I feel it is more information based so is only interesting for established fans.1 point

I think Buster gave up last year tbh, He was making changes at KL by signing Klindt and Jakobsen but at Peterborough we got lumbered with guests and R/R throughout the entire season whilst watching us take a battering every week. From a fan perspective I just can't imagine any other Speedway owner sitting back watching his club lose at Home on a regular basis and not do anything about it, Only someone who doesn't care anymore would sit back and do nothing imo. As for Mick he's a solid guy for sure and he's got the best interests of the club at heart.1 point

In this case it wouldn't be so bad, as long as Glasgow beat Berwick at home they will qualify, so Ace racing for Berwick isn't an issue. It was worse with Edwards helping Scunny to a win at Birmingham, that could certainly hinder Redcar's progress! However it would have been a very simple rule to implement, you can't guest for another team in your group!1 point
