How about swinging the thread in a better direction…… Vadim has ruffled some feathers but is it because of his birthright or because he has caught everyone’s eyes and imagination as a brilliant signing by Glasgow. He certainly appears to be a true talent on a speedway bike Personally, I’d like to hope he feels welcome and enjoys riding in the Uk10 points

Rather than throw him out of the GP., a points penalty of say, 25 points, would have been more fitting to the crime. Removing Zmarzlik punishes the fans, especially Polish fans who have made the trip. Ridiculous punishment.7 points

Sponsors have paid a small fortune to have their name plastered on the riders kevlars, especially the Infinate Reality splashed front and center. For the WC to not have this but his own sponsor is a major breach of the rules. More I think about it, I can understand why he has been punished. Won’t make a mistake like that again.6 points

Good news from Doyle's Instagram that nothing is broken! Remarkable5 points

Infinite Reality, a metaverse start up company, the owners name is John Acunto ....sounds about right5 points

This stinks of fix by discovery to get viewing figures up for the last round. Sad day for speedway.5 points

Im biased being a Witches fan but what a signing this guy has turned out to be Gives 110% every meeting ....not just here for a payday and turning up as and when it suits him. His scoring has been sensational but i want to touch on the other side of our sport He is the last one out of the pits to the changing rooms.....signs EVERY autograph and has EVERY picture EVERY week........always has a smile on his face and chats to everyone I knew he was a class rider but to see how he interacts with all the fans all the time he has been a pure pleasure to see every week We need more riders that do this not just hastily disappear after a meeting Ive heard from various sources that at away matches he has time for all the opposing supporters to Thankful as an Ipswich fan we didnt sign Holder with the attitude he has!!4 points

I did notice on my last visit that the bolts and lock on the safety gate were looking worse for wear,, and while it was on my mind I looked at replacements,,, no delivery's to Ipswich for a week4 points

Just to be honest I would be pissed off if I d gone to the meeting tonight and not seen Zmarzlik4 points

Very Non-plussed about the whole thing sounds fishy IMO.Surely some one at practice should have pointed the rule out if it is that serious. The world isn’t watching the practice.Even a fine would have been more appropriate IMO.4 points

Nigel Pearson a huge miss on the coverage , Tatum and Louis just lack any excitement.4 points

So Zmarzlik wore non conforming leathers with respect to advertising. Imagine you paid 10's of thousands of pounds to advertise your business to appear before a potential world wide audience at every gran Prix/practice/news (everything included in the legally drawn up document signed by all parties). We talking big money here. Then someone turns up advertising a different sponsor. Do you think the sponsor who paid lots of money for GP advertising would be happy. Riders will have signed contracts too, no doubt stating the organisers of the GP's lay down the rules and riders/pit crew etc will have read the rules and agreed to adhere to them. I can easily see Zmarzlik made a simple mistake but the responsibility is to advertise the GP sponsor. Legal boys would have been all over this if the penalty stipulated was not adhered to, and rightly so. The FIM would have been in deep trouble, with this and potentially lost sponsors for next year - lack of adhering to contracts. As for the suggestion Poland could withdraw riders and tracks from next year's GP's..... they will fully understand the situation because they too will have legal documents with their own sponsors...how do you think they can afford big money to the riders on Polish racing.4 points

Quite possibly the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in 25 years of following the sport.4 points

I'm sure he does , apart from the poster who holds him personally responsible for the invasion of Ukraine4 points

Anyone else need new underwear after Ben's crash in the GP. Never mind we'd get lebedevs in on a 53 points

Bearing in mind that the rule is clearly stated, they had no other option but to disqualify him to be honest.3 points

Absolutely no way would they have made the same decision in Torun. Not a chance.3 points

The problem is the rules have boxed in the organisers. There is no flexibility. Wear the wrong Kevlars, equals a €600 Fine and disqualification from the GP. There is no other option. Draconian but no option for a slapped wrist.3 points

Probably want to make sure it’s not decided before the final round lol3 points

If he can apply for a Polish licence then we should manage to get him on a 5. Thats how it works, sure we will be looking into this loophole.3 points

Great to see a Dane win the Danish GP, its quite a rare occurrence. Good job from Fred did what he needed to do when he needed to do it... But That has to have been the weakest GP field in the history of the event... EVER! My take on Bartekgate... rules is rules but I don't like to see sporting penalties for non sporting infringements2 points

Basso has put on Instagram that he hurt his ankle and going to hospital to get it checked. He couldn't put his right foot down properly.2 points

There is a "best interest of the sport clause" in the rule book. We can't have a play-off match decided by an injury. Jack Holder should be allowed to ride.2 points

I wouldn’t say it ruined it. If anything it’s made it better. Even though the track is a terrible as per usual.2 points

I agree completely. You are correct. (I think I need a lie down now)2 points

Vojens has always been like that. Hans Nielsen still hasn't come out of the 2nd bend in his 1988 world title run off against Gundersen2 points

I appreciate the frustration at Zmarzlik’s disqualification from the meeting, but these rules are set in FIM contracts which the riders adhere to; Zmarzlik has no-one to blame, but himself. I’m assuming it’s sponsor-related. Any external investment in speedway is welcome and appreciated, so riders cannot pick and choose what they wear when it comes to advertising.2 points

If he's too far ahead in the championship, why not make it a handicap event and put him on -25, ridiculous. Still, keeps the punters coming for the last event..2 points

Thanks for that...would have been there during my visits in that case. Must have been totally immersed in the racing to have noticed!2 points

Lol. It's Zach. All well and good having assets but you can't force them to ride for you. If they don't want to then they won't. That goes the other way too. I'm sure Poole have plenty of assets who aren't interested, I just can't think of anyone lol. Although tbh when it gets to that stage we usually swap assets with another club. Like Doyle and Magic with Swindon and Basso and Lawson with Glasgow. Interestingly if no Poole Zach's next choice is Redcar...2 points

Just respect for a British world class rider should have been enough really but I suppose the promoter had other things on his mind2 points

Totally agree with all posts so far. Professional, talented and sincere. Please don’t tell me he is also kind or has a great personality as I could possibly hate him! Seriously, British Speedway is very fortunate to have him.2 points

Went last night and what a cracking evening. So many happy smiling faces, not just the fans, but the riders too. Emil in particular was very excitable. And you get some miserable sods who will try and tell you it’s all pointless and not worth winning. There may not be a monetary prize, but its sport and standing on a podium and lifting silverware is very much worth winning to all those involved. Life in general can get so sh!t at times for all of us, so moments like these which puts smiles on so many faces even for a short while, should be embraced.2 points
