  1. As a neutral onlooker I don't think it was. It was embarrassing and unprofessional.

  2. Thank you Paul for acknowledging that. Be nice to hear that from a member of the Sheffield management too congratulations to Sheffield. Best team over two legs and deserved their win. I went to support my team and whilst being bitterly disappointed I’m also immensely proud of my team. if we go back to our championship days we also lost to Sheffield in the final at foxhall but we allowed the travelling fans to go on the stock car track and the track staff even removed some sections of the speedway fence to allow the travelling supporters to join their team and celebrate. in return we get told by a 3x world champion to F##k off. Simply unacceptable.

  4. Not much (if any) mention of it but credit to Jason Edwards. He's not someone I'd associate with being suited to a track like Sheffiled but since coming in to the Rising Star slot has scored some crucial points and some nexpected points for Sheffield and his heat 2 win last night was crucial in terms of momentum. It seems by far the most level headed and gracious of the younger riders and deserves a medal.

  5. Firstly where these fans stood? Because I was stood maybe 70 yards away from where the majority of the Ipswich supporters were stood and did not see anything, but that is not to say it did not happen. If it did it is wrong and apologise on behalf of Sheffield supporters who can control there emotions and not let the club down with their behaviour. What I won't accept is someone coming on here and labelling all of us in the same boat, we are not and you should not be coming on here and accusing us all been the same. I will bet that you can go to any track in the country and you will find that there will be fans that just cannot behave.

  6. Can you have imagined say Nielsen, Gundersen, Loram, Rickardson or any of those former World Champions doing that?

  7. Agree. A lot of hyperbole over this being the "worst line up ever" and the like. It isn't perfect, but it's still very good. With Zmarzlik we have an all-time great, Woffinden and Doyle two highly capable ex-World Champions, hardened contenders and proven GP winners like Madsen, Vaculik, Lindgren....younger contenders for medals like Holder, Bewley, maybe even Lambert? If people are determined to find the weaker GP years, probably 2013 at the end of the Rickardsson/Crump/Pedersen/Gollob era when Tai was able to come in as a wild card and win the whole damn thing. Unimaginable today. And in overall World Championship speedway, then you'd be hard pressed to beat 1989. Injuries and a flawed qualifying system meant we had a World Final missing Ermolenko, Moran, Knudsen, Jonsson, Pedersen, Nilsen...and instead had Tyrvainen, Olsson, Smith, Riss, Butler, Maier, Adorjan, Brhel. Not so good old days.

  8. Let's be honest, no one should really take it too seriously... How can you when Bomber played a major part in Ipswich reaching the final, then played a major part in their opponents beating Ipswich in that final... Bomber who rides for Peterborough... A last heat decider made for good TV, but given such nonsense is allowed to take place, it is best not to get too worked up about the result...

  9. Classic BSF overreaction. Why would the authorities exclude two world class riders who put bums on seats? Presumably you felt the same about Darcy when he was up to all sorts of things as a Poole rider All a storm in a teacup. Neither rider probably should have said what they did (particularly Tai) but let's be sensible.

  10. I agree Jason. I was at Foxhall six years ago and it was a memorable night for all the right reasons (from our perspective). After last night I don’t want Tai anywhere near our club next season. Immature isn’t even a starting point. Again, apologies to all the Witches fans.

  11. Agree re Woffinden, disgraceful behaviour. As for Lambert, I was happy to hear what he had to say after the meeting on Tuesday, it was probably less than 5mins after he'd finished racing, his adrenalin will have been flowing, he didn't swear, he made his points clearly and ended it with a positive statement about getting himself another winners medal on Thursday, which he duly delivered on, can't fault him on that. Unfair to lump the 2 of them together imo.

  12. Putting aside all the accusations. This was cracking meeting in tricky conditions, and probably one the best meetings I have seen in these kind of weather conditions, and I applaud all of the riders all putting an shift for their teams. In previous post I said that we had to show the same spirit as the team did in meeting 30th September 2010, and fortunately they did just that. This is what is good about British Speedway is all about two teams with totally differing types of track, going at it hammer and tongs trying to get the better of each other, the away teams trying on tracks that are not suited to them. There has to be one winner and fortunately it was my team, but lets be honest it could have easily been the other way around, and it went down to last heat decider. Ipswich made us fight all the way for this win and boy did fight to win, but there supporters can proud of the fight that they put up. At Sheffield we know what it is like to lose in the Final happened to us last season and it hurts, but you come again and maybe next year it will be your turn to lift the trophy. To all Ipswich I wish all the best and hope to see you next season. But for now. We are the Champions We are the Champions,

  13. I wouldn't worry it most probably didn't happen. I've been to Sheffield loads and never had an issue. Last season when we won the league there, not an ounce of trouble from any Sheffield fans.

  14. You're not really reading the room here are you. Doesn't matter who you support there will be no true speedway fans who think it's ok for a rider to start having a go at fans in that way on the stadium public address system, fans have a go at each other and, within reason, that's acceptable. I've always had time for Woofy but he overstepped the mark last night. Ok you won, well done, I thoroughly enjoyed the tension of last night's meeting and was pleased to see Sheffield finally land the title, don't spoil it by making stupid comments, I imagine virtually every Tigers fan would be embarrassed by your stupid posts.

  15. It's time again to say thank you so much to @racers and royals for the sterling work in keeping us all informed of what's on, also when & where it can be viewed, absolutely brilliant and invaluable, please keep doing it next season, I'm sure there are plenty of us who benefit from the info. Thank you Tim.

  16. Great effort and result by the Tigers a well deserved win. BUT I still feel the whole play off pantomime and ‘guest’ riders situation is farcical. I know thems the rules of the league competition BUT the true 2023 Champions are Belle Vue who dominated over the whole season from start to almost the end. This manufactured for TV end of season cash in climax featuring 3&4 placed teams and bringing in mercenary riders who could not be bothered to ride all season in the UK makes for a hollow victory and the sport as a joke.

  17. Quite agree with you, perhaps it was a case of not how you ride but who you know

  18. So as a speedway fan without a club to support, last night did become interesting, and despite the rain and what Tatum kept saying, I thought there were some good racing moments. I didn't see Sheffield pulling it back, and fair play to them. But.... I have always said speedway is ridiculous having play-off's to decide the league title winners. Makes no sense, it makes the entire league season somewhat pointless. With so few teams in the league over half the league qualify, and as it was last night the 3rd/4th place league finishes contested the final. To give speedway some credibility the league season winners should be automatically seeded to the final and get choice of 1st/2nd leg. The 2nd/3rd place teams content a semi-final. And for a slightly improved weather situation the final should be the middle of September.

  19. You do come out with some claptrap, I wasn't bothered who won but you've made me glad that Sheffield did it. You're the bitterest poster on here by a long long way.

  20. I remember Mark Loram in 2003 jumping around like he was part of the Poole team that won the league when he was guesting. end of the day, guests have always been a part of the sport. Sheffield lost J Holder, Woffy and Tobi M through injurys and im sure if they had it there way theyd of wanted a fall side.

  21. A strong top two is required. Tai Woffinden Robert Lambert.

  22. While I agree I'm pretty sure Sheffield fans don't care right now

  23. I agree re Woffinden. He could have said the same comments but just remove the F word and it would have been funny.Lambert was interviewed while the adrenalin was still pumping and things then can come out skewed. The thing that is getting me a bit though is people saying they are immature, embarrassing, thick etc.And yet most of the posters who post these are posting immature and embarrassing remarks themselves. It's like pot, kettle, black. For instance your post calling them as such, yet look at your immature remark calling Woffinden a tattoed gibbon.

  24. Direct fight from to Poole car park to Rome lol. Best ever post is the next time cov hammered Poole at home..and someone had Shov super imposed in Poole Harbour. Still makes me laugh now.

  25. No more than having a fully fit Tai and Tobi in the side

  26. I’ve no problem whatsoever with the result and I’ve congratulated Sheffield as deserved winners. But I’m not happy to be told to f##k off back to Ipswich. And I’m sure if you went to your local supermarket and had paid for your goods only to be told to F off you wouldn’t be impressed either.

  27. Thanks for the kind words. It’s a pleasure keeping up with what’s on. I do have some sympathy for the PPV companies like Fanseat so it’s my decision not to publicise any streams of Swedish and Danish league- the exception is the PPV of the SEC which i believe is a step too far by Onesport and on that occasion more than happy to promote streams !!!

  28. Well had a night's sleep to get over the disappointment, but am pleased for tigerblade, Kyle, Picko and Jason. We win as a team and lose as a team, and boy has this witches 7 been a team. It has been an absolute joy having Emil race for us and along with Doyley must take the credit (along with Peterborough obviously) for us being in the final. I'm sure Guy is a happy bunny, both his teams winning the end of season trophies.

  29. I have never saw him explain any decisions he makes wether on social media or in the programme. The main issue is that everyone and I mean everyone could see Complin should have replaced Ace in heat 12. The biggest worry is that the man entrusted with the decision making couldn’t see this was the call he had to make , It really could have cost us the tie and he got lucky with the all 4 back decision.

  30. yes we could have gone down with honour with only four riders in each match, did Wroclaw only have four riders in their match? you seem to forget that Ipswich only beat Belle Vue because of guests

  31. It’s a very British mentality. When someone starts doing well it’s immediately the thing to do to dislike them. It happened with Tai, it’s happening with Robert Lambert and it’s even beginning to happen with Dan Bewley.

  32. As an Ipswich supporter I have to take my hat off to Sheffield those guys dug in & got the result…..congratulations Tigers. As for Ippo the two legs summed up our season, led superbly by the top two while the rest were inconsistent & gifted points away at times. Riders going missing & riding odd lines when they needed to step up & try something different. I can’t for the life of me work out why we took 1&3 when Tatum who had walked the track said that 3 was awful. Enjoy the glory Tigers & hopefully we’ll all be back to go again in 2024 for some more premiership speedway.

  33. Amazing comeback from a weak Sheffield side due to losing riders..Would have won with ease with a full side .Ipswich fans have spend the whole final build up moaning and groaning about everything rather than worrying about the meeting . really sour fans and sour losers . What's more funny is how they were on about Lambert being a bad loser the other night.. I bet he's laughing his head off tonight.

  34. Is it true that the Sheffield medals are inscribed "To whom it may concern" ?

  35. It was just like the film "The Magnificent 7" Richie Hawkins grew a silly moustache to look like Eli Wallach and plan a daring raid. And Sheffield hired 7 random mercenaries to do the fighting for the simple village folk.

  36. Fairplay to Sheffield rode hard in tough conditions, track got better again late meeting when the rain eased. witches can hold their heads high, battles all year and lost the grand final by 4 points with the same side they started with.

  38. With good friends in both camps, I watched and hugely appreciated both legs. What more can we ask for, that was a Grand Final coming down to the very last heat after so many twists and turns? Last night's Heat 13 saw Jason Doyle at his very best, a magnificent race, one for the archives. Truly amazing stuff. And the matchwinner for Sheffield wasn't Lambert, wasn't Bomber or even Chris Holder -- it was Jye Etheridge. Well done Reggie!

  39. I don't think bringing in a guest is the main issue, it's being able to bring in riders that don't ride in the UK all season then when they've finished riding abroad they come back over here for a few meetings to boost their bank balance and their medal cupboard. Robert Lambert now has winners medals 2 years running from different clubs and years down the line when looking at statistics it will make him look good even though he only played a very small part in those clubs. The rules need sorting so that Lambert and others can't do the same again next year.

  40. we didnt gain anything from our guests, Tobi and Tai would have at least scored the same, and probably a lot more last night

  41. Well done Sheffield, the rain didn't have that much of an effect and there was some decent racing Went expecting us to lose on aggregate, but the scene was set in heat one and all seven riders kept up the pressure until heat 15 when we got the points needed, second time in six months i have seen a Sheffield team in a record breaking come back in the play offs well done to the guests all rode as though they wanted to win when they could have just gone through the motions, would rather have had Tai and Tobi but that's speedway hopefully if we get to next years final we can win it before heat 15, my nerves cant stand any more last heat deciders like that

  42. Congrats to Sheffield, nice to see a fresh name on the throphy, end of the day Ipswich were always gonna struggle if the top 3 didn't score 30 between them as the other 4 riders haven't been good enough all season generally im afraid, end of the day it was a just pleasure to see Emil ride over here for a season.

  43. Just like to take this moment to thank every single hater and doubter of Sheffield speedway.. without you all we cannot prove doubters wrong and shut people up… you can all suck a big fat one!!!! As for Jason Doyle….. entertaining he may be, the bloke is dangerous and will end up killing someone if not himself if he carries on riding the way he does - disgraceful.

  44. Used the same language at Arlington many many years ago in front of lots of young fans, you'd think he would have grown up by now, but he's never been a good advert for the sport, or role model. Back to Poland and Sweden hopefully next year.

  45. Well done Sheffield, commiserations Ipswich. That was a much better meeting than Tuesday on a much better track despite the rain. Naughty from Doyle in heat 13, I'm glad he was found wanting in the deciding race, have never been a fan. Was an absolute plank off track too in his younger days. The guest situation is a long way short of ideal but you reap what you sow I'm afraid. Pleased for Jason Edwards and Josh Pickering who started the season as Stars, and of course Norfolk's finest
