  1. Some of the reactions on here are quite hysterical. A person committed a crime, was caught and served their time - happens all the time, get over it As for other speedway riders, we've had alleged and convicted corruption, multiple drug abusers, alcohol abusers, violent criminals, including murder and many of these are/were warmly thought of e.g. Lee, Morans, Ward. Very few have no victims, the drugs trade sees many deaths and abuses of people across the world. If he wants to ride speedway then I have no problem with that.

  2. Obviously you have not seen any coverage from the GT tyres northside arena from last Saturday?? Lots of passing in most of the races and over 4 laps

  5. That was a bit better. We should have around 7.5 points to replace MPT or Patryk with at the end of the month. I hope we try and use them.

  6. The £70k is pure fabrication to suit his agenda. The consortium will hopefully release a statement on Friday, once it has been reviewed by their legal team.

  7. Not that I am biased but Ben Cook quite a clever guest as he has done a few meetings at Oxford last few years in Championship as we are normally grouped with them a bit. So am not surprised with his score.

  11. Give it a rest dinlo, in the 50 + years i have been going, that's the first time I've ever seen that happen, may have had problems with the starting gate on the odd occasion, but not the red lights as well

  12. Ridiculous comment, surely nobody wants any club closing, we need more clubs not less. Had a great rivalry with Coventry but I never wanted to see them close. Just because we have pulled a few strokes in the past doesnt mean everybody will be happy if we closed.

  13. I think Rowe is better than Flint!

  14. Sam needs to learn that he can't keep to the outside line all the time. As exciting as it was to see it live, he needed to just cutback to the inside on the final lap imo.

  15. Just a few questions - where are the school and doctors surgery going, how can he justify the comment about the EoES not being the home of the Panthers when they have been there longer than he has been an adult and where does the £70K loss come from? Finally, can we vote for the first target at the indoor axe throwing in the indoor sports hall?

  18. That list is still huge and amounts to around £60,000, it stretched back to the 90s, some of the non payers are no longer with us, some have just retired and gone off into the sunset but some are still riding and have no intention of paying, said this before that if any rider has a debt to a speedway van sales at the end of the season then next year they shouldn’t be granted a license till it’s paid, I know a few years ago this was the case with Aussies but not sure if that still the case

  21. That was a really bad decision, Cook was doing ok at the time, so put him in - more chance off the gate that Milik off 15m, or give Flint his 2nd ride? Stewart Dickson did the same at Glasgow, giving Schlein a 15m heat & not giving Hodder his 3rd ride instead. Very basic mistakes being made (though not as bad as Peter Schroeck)

  27. It rained quite heavily today from 5-6.30 south of Ipswich - en route up it was still raining up the a12 and a14 got there and all the cars were leaving the stadium so guessed it was off - disappointing but that’s the first rain off at Ipswich I’ve ever experienced from recent memory

  28. Can't imagine conditions change that much from 6.15 to 6.45.... so why leave it so late to call it off... just another unprofessional act that only damages the speedway name in the UK.

  29. I agree 100%. But Wojdylo is struggling badly so as a combination Cook/Flint is stronger than Wojdylo/Rowe.

  30. He was hardly alone in this ... CovComp once published a list of riders who had run up a debt with them and showed no likelihood of paying. Possibly one reason why Geoff was so helpful to us was that we (that is, I) always paid up straight away.

  31. Weather forecast has taken a turn for the worst and looks like rain in the afternoon. I still have faith knowing how well they managed the track last week

  32. I understand Crucible has a contract for 3 more years…..to mark 50 years at the Crucible….thats amazing. I like watching snooker, but it can’t match the excitement of a speedway meeting, actually ……nothing can.

  33. 100%... Many go into prison with alcohol/drug issues, often the issue which caused them to offend as they fed their habit, or were heavily under their influence of, on the day they did the crime itself.. Many then also come out on probation due to "getting clean" whilst inside, with the belief that, with support continuing, they don't then reoffend..

  34. Shouldn't be a problem, if there was any safety concerns I'm sure the referee would stop the meeting,it's speedway sometimes you have to improvise.

  35. I still don't understand the call-off. The weather was lovely, you can't just ignore one forecast & pick the one that suits you best. They had Lawson & Brennan lined up as guests, r/r for Tarasenko allows every rider an extra ride, so there was no reason to call it off due to the teams strength. If there was no facility for Tarasenko or Zmarzlik was his replacement I could understand the ruse, but still condemn it. But if King's Lynn are planning to call off every match when they may lose, they'll hardly get any speedway raced!

  36. It has been the same for everyone for many years. The sentence handed down is the maximum an individual will serve. But the term is only set for half & parole can be applied for at that point. With the time served & the offender demonstrates good behavior whilst incarcerated, shows remorse for their previous actions with a plan to improve in society & follow a set plan with a registered probation office. The sitting panel will consider all aspects & decide if the applicant is safe for release.

  37. The King’s Lynn team right now will be Musielak, Basso, Iversen, Palm Toft, Wojdylo, Rowe and Ben Cook guesting for Tarasenko… if Basso isn’t fit then Ben Cook will guest for Basso and we’ll do R/R for Tarasenko

  39. Jeez how pathetic. I can well recall standing in Sheffield car park on 18 August 2022 at 7.30pm on race night in blazing sunshine (shorts weather) with no rain having fallen in the past two days but no speedway because the match had been called off on Tuesday because apparently Sheffield couldn't get the track ready. I have little time for Chapman but it irks me that a promoti9n that is equally guilty is whinging like a 12 year old.

  40. Hardly anyone outside the few thousand who follow the sport would even notice if he came back into Speedway... It isn't like any return would drive tens of thousands away... As that has already been done by others down the years... And if anyone wants to make a stand by not going should any convicted criminal be riding then let them.... Plenty more will still turn up regardless of his presence.... And, if we are now only allowing ex cons to do certain jobs, why should others then be made to work with them? Other "labourer's" in your scenario may not want him there with them for example... Therefore, what jobs does society say ex cons can do without someone having a protest? The bottom line is hardly anyone in this country has heard of Speedway, let alone Jason Garrity...

  41. I don't see why speedway riders must be holier than thou, to be riders. I'm pretty sure many riders have a 'back catalogue' or skeletons in their cupboard. Many boxers have skeletons and back catalogues. I do understand speedway promoters getting worried about the affect on their gates. On the other hand, he might be a draw. 'Come and see the bad boy come good'!

  43. I have read your post and you don't come across as a very forgiving person. The difference with paedo's becoming teachers is the small matter of the law of the land forbidding it, it's not a matter of opinion. It is not law that burglars can't become speedway riders... or anything else for that matter the only thing he has forfeited is his liberty for a few years and his reputation. There are many people that have turned their lives around and gone on to become inspirational "heroes"... Ant Middleton served time and now does motivational speaking tours.

  44. As I have already said if you cared to read my posts, its horses for courses. A school teacher can be struck off if convicted for behaviour outwith his school, you would not put a paedophile in charge of a nursery, Raith fans will tell you what happened when they tried to sign rapist David Goodwillie. You commit a crime, you do the time. As I have said I have no problem with him being a plumber although I wouldnt want him to be going into the homes of elderly or vulnerable. He can be a labourer if he wants or any other number of jobs. He has though forfeited his right to a sports position where he would benefit from sponsorship and get publicity and could possibly be seen by young or vulnerable as a 'hero' because he can ride a bike well. He's not a hero, he is a violent thug who served time for what he did to an elderly disabled individual in their own home. Let him get on with his life away from speedway - the sport does enough to make it less appealing to possible new supporters without the ruling body being stupid enough to see that allowing him back as a rider will give every nimby in the land extra ammunition to object to speedway and speedway tracks.
