  1. That’s because Poole only see a race like that once a season we see it every meeting

  2. No it was a FIM Grasstrack meeting and was rearranged due to poor weather in France on Saturday. In fact it was the other way around if he had chose to return and ride for Leicester he would have got banned as he had signed into a FIM meeting

  4. Anybody saying a speedway meeting is just 15 minutes of entertainment is simply trolling or just simple.

  5. With the apathy shown by the British Speedway Supporters, just thought I would give the Women a well deserved mention. Well done Rachel and Katie, superb effort.

  6. You know full well why people don't bother with live tv meetings, there are posts in this thread to that effect, the delays are mindnumbing. You support a team with no real local sporting competition, it's either speedway or powerboat racing, that's why your crowds hold up. I just don't understand why you constantly bring up the same rubbish about crowd numbers yet virtually ignore the fact that we've just seen such a brilliant meeting on the best track in Britain.

  7. Some decent races tonight, it has to be in the interest of speedway to find a way to get the crowd in for free on television meetings, it’s been a good sporting watch tonight but the crowd is embarrassing and unfortunately visual is everything

  8. Luke Killeen guesting in place of Hagon now.

  9. Both Tate and Anti are strong at home, to put them together at 3 and 4 would upset the balance of the current top 5 in my opinion. Where we could really do with some improvement is at reserve because if Claus or any of the other top 5 has a bad day then we could well be in trouble. The 7 points from excellent guest Jake Mulford helped disguise that very scenario on Saturday.

  11. A much improved away performance from the Lions but that wouldn't have been difficult after the pathetic display at Ippo. Can't help but think that r/r scoring only 4 flattered us a bit. Usual suspects not performing but on the plus side Fricke riding like a number 1 at last. Some great speedway racing tonight

  14. But even then as good as a TV league match is to watch on the TV, it's deathly dull when you're actually in attendance with the extended delays while the TV people are doing their Tv things. Until this is addressed, along with the cost, Tv meetings will never attract any sort of crowd unless it's a play off

  15. I have an amazing idea they can use, it’s called television camera. It’s on a fixed point with an experienced operator pointing it at the action.

  21. I guess Brum are banking on Kvech being a flash in the pan at the AFA vs. Oxford last week. I don't understand the line-up at all otherwise because surely you'd want Brennan going out in the latter heats, Being done by Heat 10 has a negative impact on Heat 15 as well. How many times do you see the No.2 at clubs get chucked into Heat 15 only to finish last due to the track changing during the interval as well as Heats 11, 12, 13 & 14.

  22. Hardly a novelty meeting ! The FIM for 2 days in Teterow held a Women’s academy with tuition from Greg Hancock. Ok there was only 11 riders of the required standard to take part in the Gold Trophy but iis it’s 1st year, so hopefully 16 riders will take part in 2025.

  23. Well that would appear to tip the balance in the Ace’s favour then! Honestly, who gives a stuff, I expect the Aces to comfortably rack up 55 points regardless.

  25. I know he was on the list, that doesn’t change what I’ve said. Why were Ipswich told he was ineligible to guest for their missing rising star, but Leicester haven’t? That list might just not have been updated. Edwards being named in the 1-6 means he’s no longer a rising star. Gilkes is the Sheffield rising star, you don’t run with two rising stars. Exactly the same happened a few years ago when Ipswich signed Anders Rowe who was on the rising star list, as their senior reserve at number 6. The same “rule” was applied then. Could be one of three things. Ipswich were given duff information and didn’t use Edwards on the back of it despite being free to do so. Leicester could have made a mistake and will have to do what Ipswich did and make a late swap. Or thirdly, they’re all just letting it go because nobody can really be @rsed with it all. My money’s on number three.

  27. I’d like to suggest Vissing’s home scores haven’t really hurt Workington, but his away scores have been valuable - 11 at Plymouth was a great contribution to a tight road win.

  28. I respectfully suggest we get off his back and get behind him. I don't know whether you have noticed but there are not that many riders out there who we could replace him with.

  31. Team line-up cost Birmingham tonight. Steve Worrall riding at No.5 again after struggling drastically all season when riding in a Heat Leader position was utter madness.

  35. I race, roughly a minute,15 races, roughly fifteen minutes is that not simple enough or would you care to enlighten me on where the rest of the entertainment comes from unless you make it yourself or are you talking about the occasional rider interview which invariably you can't hear or,like a lot of people, aren't really interested in.or maybe you're talking about the endless tractor grading,or fence repair or dodgy starting gates or sun breaks etc.

  36. Nichols rolled in 5 of his 6 rides, if the ref had called them properly and didn't let him get away with it, then there would have been no need for a super heat because The Bears would have won.

  38. Poole have announced that the glass grandstand, bars and restaurant areas will NOT be open for this fixture. All visitor access will be via the entrances to the rear of the East (main) grandstand. Champs bar and snack bars on the bends will be open as usual

  40. It’s a weird one, pairing your second best rider with potentially your best. It also now means Brennan’s rides are over and done with (bar heat 15) by heat 10, leaving Lampart in heat 14. Would make more sense to switch them round.

  42. Anders Rowe was on the RS list at the start of the 2021 season. Ipswich signed Drew Kemp as their RS and Anders as their other reserve. Anders guested for Sheffield in place of their RS Josh Bates and when I queried it stating Anders was no longer an RS, they said he was on the list at the start so he stays an RS. Anders average was 5.49 which dwarfed Bates’ figure (He finished on 2.67). His paid 6 secured a narrow 2 point win for the Tigers. It could have been another of those Belle Vue/Bates things and Edwards might well no longer be an RS. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2021-rising-stars/ https://britishspeedway.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/p21_issue_10.pdf https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2021-rider-statistics/ https://britishspeedway.co.uk/21results/sheffield_01.07.21_res.pdf

  45. But Manilow gives people what they want. When he was at the Co-op he cleverly came up with ‘Have a Co-op, Co-op banana’. People felt a connection. Mind you, the following day he did the same thing in Aldi and people ignored him and just carried on shopping.

  48. The whole problem with the Polish top flight this season is Lublin are so much better than every other team the season is a waste of time competition wise. No team should be allowed to build a team so dominant that they basically clean up everywhere. Polish authorities need a rethink to balance out the teams to make the league more of a spectacle IMO.

  49. Whilst not denigrating Jason`s efforts last night, its worth considering that he was gifted his third place in Heat 7 and when giving a helping hand for his second place in Heat 2 after the two Glasgow riders got in each others way in turn one of lap one. Honestly, I don`t see him as much of an improvement on Hodder, but you are correct in pointing out that it may do Hodder some good by taking him out of the team as his confidence must be rock bottom at the minute.

  50. I think that your post does Celina a great disservice. There are separate men and women competitions in most other sports so why not speedway? She is clearly a pioneer leading the way for women in a male dominated sport and deserves all the credit for the hard work and dedication that she is putting in to her chosen sport. As for your presumption that all other female riders are 'nowhere close to her level' then you do a disservice to the other 10 riders from six countries (including two British riders) who took part in the meeting yesterday and aspire to be successful in speedway.
