Anyone know if this match is being streamed?

The damage has already been done. As Orion stated, the constant watering down of the standard year on year has seen the crowds fall away. No coincidence. The sport is dying on its ar*e sadly and not sure there is any way back for most clubs now. 90 percent of British clubs have promoted poorly over the years, the powers that be have let things get out of control rules wise and whats left is a rubbish product that most wont take serious anymore.

Looks like I've been blocked from the Oxford FB page. Shame clubs can't be as quick to block all the scammers lol! Can't deny I'm disappointed, I don't swear, I'm not abusive to riders, I don't suggest they aren't trying. However I am honest when I comment, such as I think Kemp is better than Killeen & Kerr is better than Kemp. Surely when Oxford made those changes, they must have known they'd come under plenty of stick for it? If they blocked everyone who disagreed with Schroeck's team managing, there'd be virtually no one left!

I just went over the Oxford Speedway Facebook page and 99% of the comments are positive about the team changes. It's more censored than the Russian media!

Got to pay for the Comets lager, helps club funds, but the empty can will make a nice souvenir of your visit to worky and you can put it on display your mantlepiece

After the spineless actions against Kent last season the weasel is back. This time shutting down the Mercians Amateur Speedway club. They had opted to run under a different governing body (who can blame them) but the Leicester venue have been told its SCB events or non so the club has been forced out. We are talking about good honest people who have done far more for the sport without ever seeking the praise that Vatcher clamours for. The sooner he steps aside and allows someone to act in the overall interests of the sport rather than a select few the sooner the slim chances of a recovery will be. As it stands its another big nail in the coffin of British speedway.

How Jye Etheridge still rides for this club is unbelievable. Got to be the worst so called ‘heat leader’ in the league. awful rider.

Too many one track wonders. Douglas single handily won them it last year.

Nooo! Jye is a club hero and even when he’s woeful (all the time) he needs to be out there representing the mighties.

JJ is correct. The track was watered continuously from early morning, and it was only towards the end that there was any dust. Personally, I seriously doubt whether many of the people who post on this site have actually been in attendance at the matches that they comment on. There is a hard core who come what may, will never be satisfied and a good many more who seem to just follow on and and add their own opinions to these comments.

if only the crowds were as enthusiastic at speedway as they are at football, there may be more people through the door.

The clubs really don’t help themselves do they. It costs nothing to promote your own fixtures and they obviously can’t be bothered. Hence why so many former customers don’t bother either.

Very poor from KL , that preview is on the Witches site and still nothing on the KL website a day before the meeting and this is their home meeting

The cynic in me says they have replacements waiting to go and will announce them 24 hours after Ipswich complete their 75% fixtures next week out of spite.

Agreed - No brainer choice. Closest you will get to a new signing. Provides continuity and maintains some semblance of integrity to a farcical situation

Freddie can only guest once he has ridden 3 home 3 away and established a new average Interesting point re Tobi - he currently is in a declared 1-7 (hence we can't sign him) so in theory could guest. Worth a try even if only to prove a point.....

Comments by Peter Schroeck after the match (from British Speedway website) “It’s very deflating to come here with a 16-point lead and not take away the aggregate point". What did he think would happen when he weakened the team? “We didn’t really lose it in Heat 13 or 15, you know what can happen in those races around here with Belle Vue have their big guns out. “We lost the aggregate point in other races where we should have scored more. Then why did he weaken his reserve pairing if he knew he needed points outwith heats 13&15? "It could prove costly at the end of the season and we need to make up for it elsewhere.” That actually sounds like he wants the team to do well & make the play-offs. Based on his team changes I honestly wasn't sure!

I personally think the riders are dictating the sport to suit their own needs and Promotions are just going with it.They are probably have still got the same wages bill in a seriously weakened league in recent seasons.Dont think crowds have improved markedly at most Clubs.

It was no different to a large amount of passes in the SON - none were questioned. He lifted and gained control quick enough to stop the accident - Lampart quick enough to also help prevent it. IF anything was questionable last night (bar the commentary) it was Howarth's pass on Flint, but again that was due to him picking up and lifting coming out of the corner.

I never seen a team who are trying to put out a worst side to not make the play offs. Please tell me there is a master plan

Most posters on here knew we weren't going to win tonight,let's be honest we will be lucky not to finish bottom of the league,I know we've had injuries but so have other teams, just another crap season.

Defo, saw him make his debut on TV a few years ago in Sweden, he was 16 and scored a 15 point maximum, I thought he was something special then, not quite sure why he's not been higher profile since. (All or some of those details maybe slightly incorrect, he was mighty impressive though)

Pearson was an enigma when he came over as he was/is a far better rider than he was delivering. Leibmann clearly has pace but can't gate and that will have to drastically improve if she is to ever get near her assessed average. It strikes me that she is happier having the pace dictated by at least one rider in front rather than be there and set it herself. McGurk could keep his place but solely because there are limited riders coming through. Both he and his brother have been raised on bigger circuits and lack the technical side of thier riding which will always continue to hurt thier progress.

Oh yes, this is my 1st of 3 meetings that I will be going to this week. Starting by getting revenge on Godfrey & Co, that will taste very sweet in the morning. I'm avin my pre meeting flat white, with chocolate sprinkles of course

So if it doesn't/won't work why is it that Glasgow, Poole seem to retain there crowds when they are in the so called second tier of British Speedway?, their needs to be a drastic change not only to the promotion/presentation of Speedway but also to the actual make up of what is presented. County Cricket was/is on it's ass a few years ago and still is, but the powers that be introduced Sunday League (40 Overs per side) many years ago, and over recent seasons have introduced even shorter versions ie "The Hundred" etc etc the recent shorter versions of the game of Cricket have seen it thrive worldwide. I think it's time the people that run Speedway in this country took a leaf out of Cricket's book and introduced a shorter version alongside the 4 lap formula, perhaps have 6 man teams as has been suggested, then mid meetings have the 6 riders by the tapes and have 6 x 1 lap dashes the winner 2 points,second 1 point 3/4th places 0 points, is that 3 races each ?, short and sharp to get the juices flowing anyways you get the idea.

Didn’t watch the last one in Warsaw so can’t see me bothering with this one either, don’t think I will going Cardiff again this year and for for me is the problem, if the pinnacle of the sport in this country can’t attract me to attend then how does it hope to attract anyone else, I am a through and through speedway fan, I live the sport I am the sport and would rather go and watch a championship or premiership meeting, Cardiff should be a blast but it just isn’t anymore and discovery seem so out of touch that I can’t see it changing, the sprint thing is just pathetic as a spectacle
