  1. If you did a bit of research of PL matches you'd find Mr Nicholls can still mix it up at that level too.

  2. Absolutely not. Lambert’s improvement went up levels after leaving British Speedway. Riding in the Elitserien was his turning point

  3. They're still wearing King's Lynn bibs riding for King's Lynn at King's Lynn you absolute melt.

  4. Considering he is riding as a heat leader and not had a spell at reserve like last season any increase on his average is impressive. Brennan has improved this year.

  5. Don't tell anybody, especially the Poole fans (like they'd see this on a PL topic!)... but I actually think the move to Poole has done wonders for him, had to improve his gating as it's such a dog rubbish track

  6. Although I’ve only come into the sport a few years back and never claim to know that much about it, I still feel like going to each home meeting is worth it. I live in Ipswich so I guess I don’t have to travel far but the team try and they are in the final and the play offs so I believe showing some support is always key and back the team. They have given us a great year so far even with injuries. To not back them now seems disappointing, win or lose it doesn’t matter. The sport needs building for sure, but everyone can be part of it.

  7. Genuine question for Lynn fans. Would you have Laguta back for next year?

  9. Reality check, if the attendance was indeed 29000 or thereabouts, that's 3 times the capacity of Belle Vue, even with the maximum additional stands. The parking and local facilities are not acceptable. There would be the same issues with accomodation prices as there are in Cardiff, as there are anywhere that's holding a major event. There are always geographical and transport issues for some no matter where you hold it. Finally, at Cardiff, It's guaranteed to take place regardless of the weather thanks to the roof. some people need to give their head a shake and look at the bigger picture instead of this fixation with 'It's got to move to Belle Vue'

  11. Nothing sums up this forum like the number of people prepared to come on this thread and tell us how bad Cardiff is and how they will never go! Who cares? Those of us who make a big effort for the weekend seem to love it! My partner and I enjoyed meeting some great speedway fans from up and down the country, enjoyed the racing, couldn't fail to love the result and thoroughly enjoyed the impromptu Q&A with Tai after the event. Thanks Tai! We're also going to Riga & Torun, which will probably cost less together than Cardiff, but it is the only speedway themed weekend in Britain. Posters throughout the city centre, stalls with 'dodgy' merchandise on the Main Street, streets closed for fans - don't remember anything like that in Manchester for the SoN?? It would be great to see two SGPs in Britain but did Belle Vue do themselves any favours with their overpriced tickets, resulting in a big temporary stand looking empty? Again the two of us enjoyed ourselves in Manchester for a weekend, but lets not have a competition for the best - lets get together for both!

  16. Luckily Anders likes being at Lynn, loves the track and would have it more grippy if he could. He also enjoys working with Rob who is one the best in the business. So some of these comments are laughable.

  17. he's averaged 5.08 at home and a great 4.85 away for us this season. Would be an absolute bargain on 3.7.

  18. Both Harris and Lawson can guest for either Jan, BB, or Klindt. King can guest for Jan and BB. Picko, Becker, Wright, Masters, z Cook, Brennen, can guest for NKI, or any of the 4. I think it will be 3 guests and RR.

  19. then stop spouting your crap, leave the sport for good,

  20. Surely this is a case of use it, or lose it. Being able to attend a prestigious GP for less than we pay to go to a league match is almost unbelievable. Don't get me wrong. Belle Vue has the potential for better racing. But looking at the big picture, Cardiff wins hands down in terms of a weekend event with no risk of the weather spoiling the event itself. The fear is that if we lose Cardiff, the British GP won't survive.

  21. Actually I've come to the conclusion that Schroeck's tactics were even worse than first thought, I get grief from Oxford fans on FB, but he keeps showing me how clueless he is. The updates made it look like the tac sub was in heat 11, so I had thought why not wait one race & replace a reserve in heat 12? Now I've seen the official scorecard, the tac sub was actually in heat 5, as Harris has taken the r/r outing in heat 1, that means after ONE ride each, both getting second places, Schroeck had decided not to give Wright or Riss an extra ride & instead give the reserves 8 rides between them. He's totally clueless, it's not even like Riss & Wright had poor first rides. Plus at that stage the reserves had taken 3 rides between them & not beaten an opponent. I understand that for Janowski to replace a reserve they'd have to wait to heat 12, but I still think that is the best tactic. If you're only 4 points down after 11 heats, then you're still in with a chance even if you miss the tac sub opportunity. Either that or give Wright the tac sub outing earlier on? But certainly use the tac sub instead of a reserve imo

  22. Shouldn't be any R/R in a DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE, even if the rider coming in has a way lower average than the missing rider who they are covering for, the 1-7 should be switched accordingly with averages on the day!

  24. If that's true, isnt that really good? I've been twice and there was more each time, but that was a long time ago. Regarding Manchester hosting a SON and how the finances went, me thinks a week of speedway with a meeting practically every night at the same track was stupid to begin with. And then they had rain... 🫤

  26. I had a great weekend in Cardiff, it isn't what it was but it can be brought back. I can't see anywhere having the same feel as Cardiff, it is special from start to finish. Yes there have been cuts but if people don't attend then who funds the extra activities. From day 1 there have been the people on these forums doing the event down, it a world class event for £20-£30. The only area that needs addressing is the hotel pricing, organisers and council should intervene and sort this out, more people staying for the weekend boosts Cardiff economy and income for organisers. As a second British GP could Odsal be considered?

  33. You’re right, yes. But he’ll start the month at 6.00. We all also knew we weren’t making the playoffs with the team we had, and the promotion decided sticking with a team that was known to not be good enough wasn’t acceptable. They showed they weren’t prepared to just accept the season petering out without trying it, even if it was ultimately fruitless. I think most of us expected more than we’ve seen though, even if we didn’t think it would be enough.

  34. Rowe will be on a 25% reduction on his average due to exiting the rising star scheme. Would be silly to pass up the opportunity to include him as the senior reserve at 6 on such a reduction. Dan Thompson likewise at Ipswich.

  37. Why? Lasse went from 5 to 4 when his first average was known. Janowski, pawkicki etc have all been given new averages once their true averages kicked in well below their assessed ones. It's my understanding it can't go below the minimum of 4.

  42. I don't understand that logic, I don't decide wether or not to "give funds" based on weather the sport is dying or not, I base it on wether I think it's value for money or wether I'll be entertained. I would never avoid going to a match I thought would be good just because I think the sport is struggling in the UK.

  46. I think all the comments on here support what the ref said afterwards (and top marks to him for showing his face and describing his thought process) There will be a % of people who see Nicholls at fault and a % who see it as Wright's fault, in the refs opinion that split was 60-40, or even 55-45 towards it being Scottie to blame. So you will get many arguing one way and another, but ultimately it's all irrelevant now, the result is history and Redcar won the Pairs. The downside was the reaction at the presentation, if Scott had a grievance it was with the ref not Charles, who 100% did not not want a collision. It appeared petulant and like a real spoilt brat throwing the toys out of the pram! Being a Bears fan, my view is possibly biased, so I'm not getting into the debate, but without doubt the title went to the correct team based on the running of the final, when you see where Masters was entering those bends, no way was he catching Wright, even if Nicholls had got passed and kept 2nd.
