Yes, as I always enjoy matches at Scunthorpe. Unlike you and your constant moaning and trying to wind up all and sundry I still like the sport and always get proper racing at this track. Good to stand near the noisy Bears fans who seem to enjoy the odd beer ! Wish Id known you were actually there so I could purposefully have avoided you.5 points

Pretty poor show all round.Dozen fixtures a season and still riders missing. They wonder how the the sport is failing.4 points

Given the Mickey Mouse state of Brum's team, it was for the best that both meetings were called off... A shame more meetings don't get called off when either of the teams cannot have all their riders available... Oxford have arranged a match knowing Magic is not there .. A ludicrous situation that actually gets condoned by the BSP and fans alike... The sport has the level of following it deserves ..4 points

If those who run it don't take it seriously, (as is clearly shown by their fixture planning), then they cannot be surprised if fans don't....2 points

The NSS can take a considerable amount of rain leading up to the event, riders however cannot race if it is raining for the duration of the event, as was forecast, due to the rain making vision impossible. It’s like driving on the motorway in the rain at 70mph without your wipers on.2 points

Belle Vue is more suspicious because according to some of their fans it needs a monsoon for a meeting to be called off2 points

As much as I agree with your statement about pre season predictions and lack of interest on social media etc, these leagues are designed for young lads and maybe girls to enter a competitive league and build on their experience, virtually all the teams are doing a great job having rookies in their teams and first and foremost that should be welcomed, whoever wins or finishes bottom should not be the aim.2 points

Been complaining about this for several seasons. Mic needs a sports shield around it to cut out the wind roar. No coordination between the announcer and the "DJ" in the box, or the in field announcer. For the box announcer telling Dan to go into the pits to get him some info was comical, since the poor guy was on crutches!2 points

Posting here with no agenda either way, I attended this match as a neutral and have to say how enjoyable the evening was. Never a fan of Ben Barker but he had some great charges from the back and was battling throughout, until his first ef in heat 13. Sitting near the pits entrance it was noticeable what a great captain he was too. A very controversial exclusion in heat 12 when it seemed Cluff was wiped out by McDiarmid didn't help the home cause. Neither did the class act that Sam Masters is, with a much deserved full house. My last visit to Plymouth saw the only people enjoying themselves being on a stag party, but the new centre green presenter, with a few self admitted teething cock ups, tried hard to build an atmosphere and drag presentation out of the 17th century so well done to him, and the Facebook links which were a huge hit. How many children were in the kids' race? Dozens, which hardly supports the usual standard fan profile we are supposed to believe. And, shall we say, the more mature supporters alluded to, proved you don't have to be miserable to be old, joining in the fun. Also more than enough fanatical yummy mummies present, to stir this poster's grateful groins. A near 4 hour drive home after the meeting, means I won't be a regular here but certainly will look to take in a couple more matches. Maybe the miserable forum effers who have to post negatively about everything, with zero factual base, should actually attend a match or two. You may even enjoy it.2 points

R and R Bookmakers the worlds top Speedway Bookmakers !!! are pleased to announce the 2025 Beat the Bookie competition. This is the 13th year of the competition(where has the time gone !!) and again there is a prize for the winner. For the 6th year the spread is now under the new scoring rules 1st 20 2nd 18 3rd 16 4th 14 5th 12 6th 11 7th 10 8th 9 9th 8 10th 7 11th 6 12th 5 13th 4 14th 3 15th 2 16th 1 Positions 1st to 4th in the Final Meeting Classification will be according to the result of the Final (Heat 23). Positions 5th to 10th in the Final Meeting Classification will be according to the results from the Semi Finals (Heat 21 & 22). The 2 Riders who finish 2nd in each of the Semi Finals will be 5th and 6th in the Final Meeting Classification, with the higher ranked rider from Intermediate Classification 5th and the lower ranked rider 6th The 2 riders who finish .3rd in each of the semi finals will be 7th and 8th in the final meeting classification, with the highest rider from the intermediate classification 7th and the lower ranked rider 8th. The 2 riders who finish 4th in each of the semi finals will be 9th and 10th in the final meeting classification, with the highest rider from the intermediate classification 9th and the lower ranked rider 10th. Positions 11th to 18th will be according to the Intermediate Classification after 20 heats. As i get older i am getting more confident that my spreads are top notch !! Therefore again in 2025 out have gone the gimmicks !!! The start amount is £600 - minimum bet per GP is £100 minimum bet per rider £50 The minimum bet doesn`t apply if total remaining is less than £100 - then all must be bet. THERE IS NO MAXIMUM BET IN 2025 Rules Each contestant MUST place bets in ALL the rounds -in the event of having no money left they are out of the competition All bets can be edited up to the advertised starting time of the meeting. If a rider is injured before a round starts then the bet is voided on that rider, or bets can be amended up to the meeting start time. If a rider starts a meeting but is injured and cannot continue THE BET STANDS but any points scored by the reserves count towards the injured riders score. If any rider is excluded for a starting offence the reserve points scored do not get added. To ensure fair play bets for the final round may be required to be PM`d to me instead of normal posting. If a meeting is called off at heat 16 then the spread will be adjusted to 4/5th`s of the original. If a meeting is called off at or after 20 heats the spreads stand. HOW TO PLAY One must bet on a rider to score MORE OR LESS than the spread-the HIGHER figure is taken for MORE bets and the LOWER for LESS bets-the mid between the two is what I expect them to score-and they add up to 146 which is the total points available in a GP Example Zmarzlik might have a spread of 15-17 for the 1st GP Player A might bet £100 HIGHER than 17) and he wins so would win (20-17)=3 X £100 = £300. If he finishes 4th he would lose (17-14)=3 X £100 = £300 Player B might bet £100 Lower than 15 and if he finished 8th(15-9 ) = 6X £100 would win £600. If he won the meeting he would lose(20-15) =5 X£100 = £500 A final message regarding the 2025 competition to you punters. M more value in 2025 U unique format from the no 1 Bookie G great prices S simply the best competition in world speedway I will post the opening spread for the Saturday 3rd May Landshut staged German GP on Monday 28th April1 point

Ah yes just like me riding my Motorcycle on the motorway at 70 mph in the rain. Done that more than a few times. With al the technology riders now have , dirt deflectors, tear offs, roller film visors surprised that " visibility" is still an issue to call off a meeting. Track was waterlogged would do me ... unless Belle Vue circuit has suddenly sprouted a roof it gets waterlogged like any other shale surface.1 point

‘A shame more meetings don't get called off when either of the teams cannot have all their riders available...’ Have you actually thought about that statement? Throw in the weather situation and we’d be lucky to get the season completed by December, with only Bomber and Santa interested in guest bookings by then. !1 point

I think you’re right with this. I really enjoyed it and shown was sort of meeting can happen in steady rain throughout with most riders giving it a real go. Oxford have a real problem though in that Tungate seems so far off of it at the moment. Kildemand looked great in his first race and was then poor for his remaining 3 rides. It’s hard to know who they drop and for who to make things better - but there is some more beatings ahead. Fricke, Becker and Masters especially were great value for Leicester.1 point

That could be a fair point! I genuinely have no interest in any 'American sports' apart from when I lived in NYC and watched the Knicks a few times! America is a different world in all walks of life1 point

But the super duper NSS can stand all weathers can't it? We know Leicester is like The Poseidon Adventure after a bit of drizzle.1 point

I think most lions fans can agree that our main weaknesses since we've moved to the prem is lack major support for Fricke and decent reserves. Fricke is a fine rider for us but when things do go his way, it seems no one else can step up. Same can be said with our middle order, it's strong but inconsistent and when we need help from our 6 and 7, it never comes.1 point

Looks like for Birmingham the worst of the rain will have passed by 3.00pm, but could be a heavy shower around 5pm.1 point

For such a small troupe, speedway riders seem to get a lot of that, think I've had it once in my 56 years. Leaves you unwell for a few days as it's not the same as just a bit of diarrhoea for a few hours.1 point

It’s the opposite of random as placing Max in first place in every race is what’s required to suit your argument. It’s not speculative, its just the maths required to see lions win. This is the problem for me. I unreasonably think everyone on a speedway forum should have the same forensic knowledge of the history and statistics of the sport, especially when it’s now all available with a few clicks. Apologies if I appear short with you.1 point

Unless there is something going one behind the scenes the fans aren’t privy too. I don’t know what more us Berwick supporters could ask from Drew. He has picked up exactly where he left off, rides the track like he is possessed and wins races. I see no attitude other than positive and then some.1 point

I don’t disagree with the Flint comment, but at the same time, that’s his ‘home’ track, he is far far better than that usually around there, if there’s anywhere he doesn’t have an off night, it’s Shielfield. As for Kemp’s attitude problem, he was with us all last season, was by far our stand out rider, and always gave 100% and spoke well in interviews etc, he may of had an attitude problem previously to joining Berwick, but I completely disagree with him still having one now.1 point

Better not tell Jack holder 2 pts in 1st leg at NSS 2022 and Fricke 4pts 2024 1st leg at NSS 🤣😜1 point

The team that finishes top should be champions. The top four at the end of the season should then contest a semi and then final for the knockout cup so there’s still the target of a top four place to aim for. That would also eliminate the farce of one club getting a bye and riding less cup fixtures than everyone else.1 point

Have to agree. Saw nothing wrong last night. Too much dirt? Compared to the Peter Waite days? Dont make me titter ....1 point

I know Cook is a bit Marmite especially at Berwick but Im a glass half full kind of person and seeing him slapping that bandits crest on his chest after 15 was kind of special, his team efforts helping out the other lads also didn’t go unnoticed. If that Cook turns up at Shielfield on a Saturday night I think he will be close to unbeatable. Kemp apart from dropping a chain and settling in behind cook in 15, beat everything by a mile and looks lightning fast and in with a good chance of the lap record this season. A fit PK is a force to be reckoned with by the looks of things I personally think he hurt his back earlier in the meeting when his chain snapped at the gate, I have nerve problems in my back and instantly recognised that walk back to the pits. Wood and Hagon with a maiden win can definitely build from there. Hume will get back into the groove I’m sure and was fighting hard. I do hope Stuart sticks with Borke, we kept going with riders who have struggled to get off the line in the past. I had the chance to chat with Bastian after the p+p and I think it may be a confidence thing and when he comes good and I really think he will, he’s rapid. A lot of positives and potential in this team. Well done Tigers especially Perry, what a performance.1 point

Can’t believe the amount of negativity on here from so called speedway fans. They have worked for 8 years to get to this point, there is no prospect of the land being developed, they already have the investors and therefore the funds needed to make the stadium usable again, they have a promoter, already licensed and with his own funds in Matt Ford. The council also support it, this is about speedway being a part of the official plan for Coventry for the coming years. All future developments have to go on this plan, speedway or otherwise, the restoration of Brandon Stadium gets in this list then it’s much more duty bound to happen. Sony forget it is not just about speedway, stock cars are also invested in this too, and other community uses. Just write a quick letter supporting it and leave the rest to those who know what they’re doing.1 point

Now I don't want to be a negative Nancy and nothing would please me more than the return of Speedway to Brandon but unless the campaign are privy to some information that's not being released I'm not quite sure what this latest outburst of unbridled optimism is all about? If they're pinning their hopes on the addition of that paragraph in the Local Plan then I wouldn't get too excited about it as the shenanigans at Peterborough prove that the Local Plan isn't worth the paper it's written on! As somebody else has commented unless there's a compulsory purchase order made on the stadium BE still hold all the cards as they can just sit on their plans (whatever they are) and wait for the council to change at some point in the future. I'm not sure we're any further on than we were this time last year, correct me if I'm wrong. Still... get your emails in folks it certainly can't hurt.1 point

What pre season predictions? The NDL / NDT doesn't get anywhere near the chat the top leagues do on the forum / FB etc. I couldn't say who everyone was favouring like I can for the Prem & Champ. Since Steelers have changed their side, I'd rate them odds on favourites for the title. Since Belle Vue's changes, I'd rate them favourites for the wooden spoon. I may not have said that a week ago. Mind you with Foord missing & Rushen guesting, Middlesbrough should've been capable of the win.1 point

cook and kildemand both rode after so many said neither would turn a wheel all season hope they both have good seasons on and off track1 point

I don't agree. They are professional speedway rides as such they just like any other professional sportsman have to perform. He's lucky. Due to lack of riders now a days, these boys get a good run. Back in the day, you wouldn't have lasted five meetings with what he was scoring. There would have been at least two second half riders who would have replaced him. As someone else said on here. " Lambs to the slaughter" There shouldn't be a so called rising star in the top league. As for Sam, he's had a fair run if you include last season if you breakdown his scoring from last season. it's not good reading. Hopefully he get his confidence back riding at reserve for Berwick. He has the ability to have a good season at Berwick. I think getting dropped by Leicester will do him a favour in the long run.1 point
