So if we go to Armadale and beat the Monarchs in the league , do we get to keep them ? Asking for a friend4 points

It's never been a summer sport in Berwick. Winter-spring-autumn-winter, no summer up here3 points

What do you want them to say? 'We were rubbish, don't bother coming to any of our other meetings'? That's probably more accurate, but now how PR works.3 points

Despite some very attractive top riders now racing in Britain from the continent, I find the results of some matches very boring. we’ve got Sheffield, Ipswich Belle Vue and Leicester who will finish in the playoffs. Kings Lynn ,Oxford and Birmingham struggling against the top four receiving hammerings causing several boring matches when they meet, and don’t stand a chance to make the playoffs. Seems as though we only need the top four teams riding against one another so we witness close meetings. Such a boring top flight league.2 points

I think the decision to put Sedgmen in 15 can just about be justified by the fact he won heat 13 on what looked to be a different bike from his first 3, so the hope was he would pop out the start the same again. Going with Paco however was a terrible decision, assuming Polis didn't turn it down, while his time in heat 14 wasn't quick he is a good gater, all that being said I don't think anyone was beating Dan Thompson tonight it was a faultless display. Palovaara as others have said was underused should have been nailed on to replace Thomson in heat 9.2 points

Flint's ride in ht14 was brilliant. He was much faster than i've seen him round Armadale before. Harris's performance was as unusual as Sedgmen's - one to forget for both of them.2 points

Watching this takes me back to Friday night at eight at Hackney. Great to see racing and just a shame that those days of Friday, Saturday and Sunday racing have long gone. Thankfully the Polish scene fills the void.2 points

What a weird post Pretty obvious if a team loses its top 2 it will struggle lol Not one Ipswich fan has been arrogant and nobody was last year either …. Do you not think that barring injuries that we are favourites…. That’s not arrogance it’s factual You say Oxford and Birmingham will struggle but can’t acknowledge that Ipswich are favourites? There is a different between confidence and arrogance ….. I’m confident that we can win the league with this 7 riders …. Not arrogant to believe that others may improve or we get injuries2 points

To be fair when Doyle went under the air fence on the exit of bend two in heat 6 i did fear the worst for his shoulder.2 points

Where on earth is the moderation on this forum? How is it if you say a naughty word you’re immediately banned for the foreseeable, and yet Troll’s who infest threads with the sole aim of getting under the skin of one fan base for reasons only he knows, can just carry on without any retribution whatsoever? You’d like to think his fellow Belle Vue fans would be embarrassed by his behaviour and call out his bullsh!T but no, in fact they back their man with laughing emojis and actually join in the trolling themselves! Yes, talking about you Mike!!2 points

Plain English but a lack of understanding of the qualifying criteria. Programmed rides only, Heat 15 did not count.2 points

The ol size 10’s being stuck in to Ipswich again from all angles I see. Think we know how this works from here this season. It’s pretty pathetic to be perfectly honest. Time to take a break from here I think. Crack on.2 points

King's Lynn, gaters?Their gating has been pretty awful in every match so far this season.2 points

That's all Ipswich supporters like, is there ever any decent racing there? How many awesome heats were there last night, that's what promoters should be aiming for! And bring back uprights, they're better to handle in all conditions! Racing needs to be better than it ever has, said that many times but nobody seems to care. It's not follow your leader races that fans want to see, Bomber knows it thank christ, Henka knew it, every track needs at least a natural racer who can't gate. That's how the know/learn to pass, use the whole track not follow each other on a one line boreathon! Chris Louis was known for his gating and riding the inside line, effective but boring, must be why the Ipswich fans don't care! Oh for Gollob, Rickardsson, Crump, Adams, Lee, Loram, Screeny, Dugard, Norris, Ward, Lambert, Parker etc etc etc. For many riders it's all gate, gate, gate, that won't keep the sport going!2 points

Which makes her perfectly qualified to comment as we walloped everybody at home for a large part of our second tier stint between 2003-2010. However I think it takes a lot longer than three meetings to get fed up with it and some Ipswich fans have of course experienced this before in 1998.2 points
-
Correct riders will ride where they want to & also where they are looked after. It’s not always about the have & have nots, Ipswich have enjoyed some of the best gates if not the best gates in UK speedway for a longtime. They have also always enjoyed good sponsorship backing from the local business community. It’s only the last 3 or 4 years that we have been competing. Trying to constantly weaken the product has gotten uk speedway to where it is today on the point of extinction.2 points

have to admit the 2nd half was a disappointment, no Emil / Jason or MJJ - well done Dan however!2 points

In the history of speedway, putting musielak as a tactical to replace voulas instead of MJJ instead of rew or Hulme in the next heat must be the stupidest team manager decision ever2 points

Which just goes to show... You can fool some of the papal, some of the time... But you can't fool all of the papal, all of the time... (I'll get me coat)....2 points

Not a two tier Premiership imo, It's just the lower end clubs have HL's who are underperforming at the moment, Things will be a lot more competitive once they finally get dialled in imo. Tungate and Janowski are struggling for the Spires. Musielak is struggling for the Brummies. Kvech is struggling for the Stars.1 point

MJJ quick again. Looks completely revitalised.1 point

Not quite - he made a generalisation about Mancunians. You were specific about Worzel Gummidge on a tractor. Interestingly, I don't think the book specifies where Scatterbrook Farm is, while the John Pertwee series was filmed in Kent, and the Mackenzie Crook version was filmed in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. The only Manc equivalents I can think of would be Liam or Noel Gallagher, although I don't think Worzel would like being compared with two such scruffy individuals 🙃 As for tractors, the machines used in Suffolk are impressive bits of engineering, costing from £100k to upwards of £350k. As the John Crisp used to sing: "Hev yew evva sin a farmer on a boike?".1 point

Emil turned down heat 15 coz he had bike issues earlier during the meeting.1 point
-
Thompson had 7 plus 2 so 3 riders all on 9 As mentioned Doyle had had a crash and offered to do heat 15….. Emil had bike issues ….. so no they hadn’t qualified automatically…. Yet another poster trying to make something out of nothing or having an inability to read1 point

I saw this with my Dad when he came last in heat 4 against Edwards. He could have dive bombed the first bend twice but shut off, I don't think he would have been told to ride safely, I think he just knows that we were 15-3 up at the time and the risk / reward wasn't worth it. If we were behind he would have made a move I think.1 point

Which part of Gavan’s post stating that ‘they did not qualify’ was too difficult to understand? The Presenter made it clear about two thirds of the way through the main meeting that the qualifying criteria was total points inclusive of bonus points. So, all the qualifying Witches took part but not the qualifying Brummies. I am sure that you will re-directing your ire and criticism imminently.1 point

From Oxford's socials "We showed resilience with a mid-meeting fightback, but Sheffield closed out the meeting strongly to take the win" They scored one heat advantage all match, does that count as a fightback?1 point
-
Because of the guys battling mentality, can you see Doyley not getting mixed up in a big accident?? Seems to find him almost every year. Ipswich lose Emil or Jason, it could end their season quick sharp. Apart from Oxford & Birmingham, absolutely nobody else can be written off for the title just yet. Let's not forget, we had this same exact arrogance from Ipswich last season, how did that go??1 point

100% agree, I remember a previous Edinburgh vs Glasgow 13 heat match (in the 15 hear era) but many riders weren't interested in the second half, so it got forgotten about in the second leg. While I'm not surprised it happened tonight, they shouldn't advertise top 4 riding unless all 14 riders agreed beforehand.1 point

When I arrived at 7:30 they had sold out of programmes and had also run out of 'concession' re-admission tickets, crowd more than they had expected.1 point

Close match? You must be the only person to think that. Ipswich strong. Brum very weak.1 point

The criticism of BSN is very harsh. This fixture on paper is a close match. The problem is that Muslieak and Zagar are both effectively missing.1 point
-
Why bother with LQ1/2, semi finals, final? Just have 20 heats, the rider with the most points. That way the best rider on the night wins not someone who finishes with less points gained throughout the evening.1 point

Great that there’s a tribute to Billy. But all the excitement on here about the second half heats!!! They used to be standard fare, and a damned good watch too. Go back to 13 heats and a full second half, including juniors’ heats.1 point

What is it to do with you,if I am it would be great to not meet up as I really don't want to meet you.1 point

Would agree but it really makes mockery of the Sport. It just cannot be taken seriously.Nothing changes to improve the credibility of speedway to newer audiences.Saturdays fixture should be advertised as Bandits v Edinburgh Select.1 point

If those who run it don't take it seriously, (as is clearly shown by their fixture planning), then they cannot be surprised if fans don't....1 point

Pretty poor show all round.Dozen fixtures a season and still riders missing. They wonder how the the sport is failing.1 point

So despite your moaning beforehand, you went and enjoyed it, but still found things to moan about…….some people just cant be satisfied…..and its always you.1 point
