With all the feeling of Groundhog Day with the injuries yet again, one thing has gone under the radar and that is the consistent form of Danny King. He’s already fully justified his selection and proven just how much that hand injury was holding him back last year. So pleased for him he’s one of the good guys is Danny.15 points

Looking at the drone shots of the stadium/track - a beautiful sight - and it makes me so angry that it will all be destroyed for housing when them frickin' flats/apartments in the background are sitting empty.5 points

A GP rider... replacing a rising star... in a protected heat... And you wonder why people think that UK speedway is a joke...😂4 points
-
There is but I think this is now more a welfare issue. He’s clearly not right in the state of mind and needs help and support to get through the issues he’s facing. In my opinion there’s too much pressure and expectation, probably from himself and those around him. He needs to take a break and reevaluate. He’ll never reach his potential if he’s not even enjoying riding.4 points

Boughen won’t be riding as he’s taking a break from the sport. Kildemand guesting again for the Stars and believe Danyon Hume replacing Thompson.4 points
-
I understand that, but why wouldn't the club address the fact a rider didn't take his 3rd race (with no replacement)?4 points

If any of you get the chance to have a look at the list of freeloaders who come in through the pits at any meeting at any track, it’s staggering how many people believe they are entitled to get into speedway free because they once did this or once did that, I was talking to someone last night who does currently have a job in the sport but not at this track and last night was purely there because “had nothing else to do” and didn’t pay in and was let in, if the sport was getting huge crowds and was flushed with money then fine but it isn’t, it’s on its arse and these folk are contributing to its downfall3 points

Their fans are an insufferable lot they really are 🙄3 points

It should have been compulsory in the 2nd tier to bridge the gap between ndl and championship. That would be the more logical step, and then maybe have 2 under 24 british riders in the premiership reserve berths3 points

Bewley didn't 'have to go' you should react to the tapes and not the opposition moving!3 points
-
Think the kid should take a break for his own good , there is clearly an issue and it is doing nobody any good especially him. Sad to see as he is clearly talented but he is having a crisis of something and he needs to decide his next move whatever that might be.3 points
-
what Tobi did is irrelvant in my view as for being 'suckered in' I can't see that myself - Both just went and Tobi clawed it back - Bewley didn't - it was also the correct call to call it back no matter how late on the first lap it was.3 points

I don’t think anyone was suckered in. Starting is an essential part of Speedway as we know and so much concentration goes in to watching that little release trigger to get away the quickest. Any slight movement anywhere would cause a rider to drop the clutch. I don’t believe anyone deliberately moves to get another rider excluded either. As I said, so much concentration goes in to watching the tapes that you’re bound to get the jitters from time to time and drop the clutch too early.3 points

I think it's time to allow a free practice before a meeting like they do in Poland for riders to get their "setups" right. Having half the meeting passed before riders have got their kit right because the track is "random" is not really on in 2025! From what I've seen this season the preparation of many tracks has left a lot to be desired. Most tracks don't really have the kit to get enough water into a track like they do on Poland, when you see their truck go round the whole track is ready to race after a couple of laps, cut to the UK and IF the water cart does make an appearance during a meeting, it's like watching an old man have a pish.3 points

Doesn't coming into a meeting with a known injury, and then pulling out with it, mean no replacements allowed? I think that used to be the rule to prevent exactly what you describe happening and teams getting a clear advantage... Who knows what the rules are now though...? And they may change by Thursday anyway...3 points

I totally agree with Buster then!! If Boughen scores 0,0,0 so be it as long as you could see he tried. Its the giving up in every race that really pi$$es me off. This is the reason he has to go.I would rather see someone else come in,even if they scored 0 as long as they didn't give up and you could see the effort going in.Boughen actually scored us -1 last night, when he fell Iversen was comfortable in the lead, then of course we all know what happens in the re-runs😮💨3 points

https://glasgowtigers.co.uk/boughen-out-of-big-clashes/ Not exactly an explanation for Friday is it? Anyway I like young Harrison, exciting prospect hope goes well2 points

The RS's are, with all due respect, miles out of their depth generally, so shouldn't even be in the top tier.. It works in Poland due to their "juniors" being of a much higher standard at U24 level, with their tracks being a lot easier to ride due to their size, shape, and track prep... We see over here even top riders sometimes struggling to get around, so expecting young inexperienced lads to compete consistently against some of the worlds best is frankly ridiculous... Unless of course they are, on that rare occasion, "real talents" who don't need an RS position to deliver their career, as their talent will do it for them... They would have been better off with six man teams in the top league and saved a wage, or, if they didn't need to, given the six riders more... Replacing them with a "genuine" number 6 shouldn't be allowed.. Either have them and develop them by protecting all their races, or don't.. They shouldn't be used as tactical cannon fodder..2 points

It could be but considering Osbornes history of non-delivery, it is understandable why there would be a significant amount of doubt of it ever happening.2 points

I dont think thats accurate as far as Harrison is concerned.2 points

How do you know? I'm eighty now - so I know you are right. 🤣 Who have you beeen watching? 😉😲🤣2 points

Probably best to call it off now tbh save the aggro of travelling plans for everyone involved 😁2 points

It only needs changing if BV suffer from it! They would not care if it happened to a Brummies rider.2 points

We have to try something. Danyon has always given 100% for the Witches over the years, but it’s obvious that he is not the answer (I do hope that he proves me wrong on Thursday!).2 points
-
I do. It’s unlucky yes, but the bad luck has to sit with the side that are missing said rider. There should be no situation here where a rising star (effectively a novice) can be replaced in his programmed rides by a Grand Prix rider.2 points

The Regulation is fine, and clear. Touch the tapes and you're out. Bewley touched the tapes. Unless they remove the Reg, and allow movement at the start, then there's nothing else that can be done. Musielak received a warning for moving, but it wasn't his fault that's Bewley touch the tapes - it was Bewley's error, and he was excluded.2 points
-
No I do not believe he did, he was not suffering from a physical injury before the meeting as far as I know. So Kings Lynn manipulated the situation so Kvech could ride in heat 8, Having said that Emil should still not run a last.2 points

Both didn't just go. One went due to the other moving first, yet the first too move gets away with it. Rule change is needed.2 points

A dodgy and desperate move by Kings Lynn to withdraw Boughen to get Kvech an extra ride.2 points
-
Hope he can sort his problem out. There's defiantly a talent there.2 points

Brady was a miss but both teams were missing a top rider so even things up. I dont think you always struggle at gate and go tracks! So all your riders cant gate! Very rare for Bewley to break the tapes, he should not get suckered in as you put it.2 points
-
Authorities need to keep an eye on the Lynn reserve situation 🙄 one ride and out and all that jazz2 points
-
Great win for the Brummies. Both had riders missing so no one team penalised more than the other. Aces won’t win much with those reserves. surprised to see Zagar doing so well.2 points

Frustrating the ref wouldn’t let you replace someone who only had 2 rides. He really is thick.1 point

I'm a massive fan of the RS system, would be happy for it to be in the Champ as well as the Prem, but not instead of. All sounds like force feeding these youngsters into the PL whether they want to or not. The riders clearly want to be in the Prem otherwise they wouldn't be on the RS list! The good ones would have probably got their chances anyhow. Possibly, but not always, as the points limit can always leave good promising young Brits without a team. Look at Dan Thompson, no Champ team wanted him at the start of 2023. Connor Bailey didn't have a Champ team the year he was U21 Champ I believe, then someone got injured & he got a place, but wasn't a first pick. If the rising stars all had 1 point averages because they only beat each other in heats 2 & 8, then I'd agree it hasn't worked. But there will always be reserves who struggle, that's not the RS system that's caused it, look at Zischke & Gusts for example?1 point

He said at the BV press conference after the meeting that he is looking forward to riding at Poole on Weds. So would assume so!1 point

Can't see that at all! His average for June will be 5.27 based on his last 20 qualifying meeting.1 point

I was actually referring to Ashton at Kings Lynn with comments about R/S and the post about Dan was in relation to how long BV will keep Tate1 point

Obviously the lads welfare comes before everything. He's got to take his time, and do what's best for him. I wish him well whatever he decides to do going forward.1 point

The downside of just racing for Workington is going weeks without matches.1 point

Thought that was a really good cup tie. Plenty of hard fought heats and several passes in front of a very healthy crowd. I don't think six points will be anywhere enough and unfortunately again the Stars struggled to churn out heat advantages but it was good to have a decent atmosphere and plenty of away fans in attendance. Kvech and Bomber were excellent while the others all had their moments except Ashton who surely must be done now. Sayfutdinov was fantastic in four rides and completely uninterested in the other two which was made for an odd performance. Jenkins I thought was excellent and battled harder than anyone. King and Brennan were fabulous when they gated and nowhere when they didn't and Ellis rode his nuts off for little reward. If Lynn start like they did on Mayday then you never know but I expect Ipswich to win comfortably on aggregate.1 point

Tatum truly knows nothing about speedway which is wild to say but accurate nevertheless.1 point

Bugger! The Aces injury curse strikes again. Last year in our quest for league glory we completed only half our meetings - including play offs with our permanent 1-7. Fingers crossed we don’t get a repeat this season. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/calendar/2024-belle-vue-aces-fixtures-and-results/1 point

Sounds a bit on an arrogant comment, no rider should risk injury for any team, but why should Cairns play it safe for Belle Vue when he's not even riding for Poole yet?1 point
