Speedway wages aren't public knowledge so I couldn't say either way. I just have an example that I did know of where Glasgow wouldn't meet a riders demands, so clearly there are limits on what they will pay as opposed to having a bottomless money pit. Do you have evidence of Glasgow paying huge sums to riders over and above all the other tracks? If so, feel free to share it. Glasgow have a great race track, and rumours suggest they have a reputation for paying riders in full and on time every week (which rumours suggest isn't as common as us fans would like to believe) which could explain why riders want to ride there8 points

Brady Kurtz since his injury 12 rides … 9 wins and 2 seconds and a third Jan Kvech 6 rides …. 2 thirds 4 lasts and can hardly hold the bike Totally comparable lol7 points
-
ironic that you mention trolls yet you weirdly started asking questions regarding if Lawson was going to ride?7 points

The only difference between those meetings is that he wanted to do Wroclaw and the GP, he didn't want to do Leicester. That was his choice.6 points

One thing's for sure, he's more loyal to British speedway than play off Bob...5 points

Would have been nice if that information had been released though, right? Rather than having to rely on a friend of a forum member about 3 days late. I do wonder what he was doing on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday that wasn't working. Next time I hurt myself I think I'll bypass A&E and head straight to a Polish doctor, they seem to be able to work miracles in no time at all. Maybe he can do an advert for some more sponsorship money? "Last week I hurt my wrist and was unable to ride a bike, but thanks to the miracle cureall of Dr Złoty I can now score maximums and win a GP!" 😁5 points

I watched the interview yesterday. He is a remarkable man. At the end he said they were selling their British property, and to me it seems like this is the end for him, although he did say he would like to ride his bike again. After all of his injuries, I hope he doesn't sit on a bike competitively again, and I wish him and his family health and happiness for the future.5 points

Ashton has all the machinery and backing the some young riders can only dream .Has talent not sure about attitude and bottle you need though,it’s a tough sport. Time will tell what he does next.4 points

This Brady thing has all gotten a bit silly now. Give the man a break, he's a genuine lad and has always given 100% to British speedway...4 points

What about if I jump in and even the numbers up4 points

My assumption is that Rowe is still struggling with his groin injury from last week and didn't want a fifth ride. Cook and Klindt the right choice in heat 15, you should never put your number 2 in the last race as its just too long since their last ride. We'd have won that with Jan. So frustrating.3 points

Glasgow are paying riders what the Promotion can afford, that is their perogative, If other promotions CANT So Be It. Think some supporters from other teams are envious what the Glasgow Promoters are doing. We do have the Best track in the Championship,We do own our own Stadium. We can afford riders pay within the promotions budget. Concentrate on your own Team matters not Glasgows3 points

Kvech's actually injured, You could even see how much pain he was in for the rest of the GP after his collison with Doyley and Jan only rode yesterday because he was practically forced to by Torun. Nothing wrong with Brady Kurtz though, He just couldn't be bothered to turn up to Leicester because he knew that he had a MUST WIN GP in Gorzow 48 Hours later.3 points

Actually found that a difficult watch, what a horrendous experience for them. I hope he retires. He's done everything in the game and miraculously he has come through this well so far.3 points

If young Ashton reads this forum and sees sixteen pages dedicated to himself, he`ll never believe he was that good.3 points

They have quietly done away with the asset system, riders are now classed as self employed ,loan fees are no longer applied3 points
-
But that’s his problem for not performing not the sports. Can’t expect the governing body to feel sorry for him and give him an average reduction and big cuddle telling him everything will be okay.3 points

Great result that especially with Brady riding through the pain barrier. better things to come, don’t count us out2 points

Well done Kings Lynn they were the better more compact side tonight and with Kvech would have won, i dont think we have as big an home advantage as people believe, what we do have is Dan and Brady and we do rely on heats 13 and 15, we certainly dont have the engine room or reserves especially considering our away form to challenge this season, even without Kvech if Lawson had come to the party we could have been in trouble.2 points
-
Once we didn't get 5 in heat 12 that was that. Very much fancy we'd have had at least 45 before heat 15 with Jan but there we are. BV definitely need the coming change at reserve to have a chance of the title.2 points
-
It absolutely wouldn't have been a 'blunder', there will be a good reason. Would have made no difference to the result tonight anyway.2 points

Job done tonight with 4 riders still not 100% but as Doyle said you show up for your side even if you are injured …2 points

Why? We all know Belle Vue is the best track in the league but you can’t go there every week Been some good racing and did you see Emil? Much better to watch that then the Belle Vue throttle jockeys2 points

Fraser’s been riding in Poland before riding in Britain, so don’t understand your point?2 points

Hope he doesn’t retire if he not 100% sure about it because I know this will sound alien if you have never been a racer but injuries or not that itch is a bitch and will always be there when you don’t retire on your own terms2 points

FIM Speedway - News - AUSSIE STAR KURTZ WINS INJURY BATTLE TO CLAIM FIRST SPEEDWAY GP VICTORY IN GORZOW Injury and the course of treatment undertaken detailed within. A friend of mine was at Wroclaw on Friday night and was speaking to one of Brady's pits crew. He told my friend that Brady was having treatment all afternoon on Thursday and again on Friday morning. Of course, having treatment might still not be regarded as the correct use of his time by those who felt he should have been at Leicester on Thursday night?2 points

Unfortunately like most venues,, the attendance drops when tv is there,, and due to its large capacity,, it makes it look worse than it actually is. Oh, and can I add, people actually pay to watch this schitt, and no wonder speedway is dying in this country to the bingo list.2 points

The Gladiators website access has only recently been handed back over to the club and is currently undergoing a complete overhaul, and will be managed and maintained from within the club ongoing. This is a time consuming and lengthy process, so please bear with for those changes to be implemented. However, the Centurions fixtures are included on the fixtures and results page currently and rest assured, the Centurions are important to the promotion.2 points

The BSF trolls think the above post is fine yet if I had posted this on Wednesday the forum would have (it did anyway) gone into meltdown. Brady is genuinely injured and he’ll only miss tomorrow night at most… I guarantee he’ll be back next Monday when The Aces take on the stars. The hypocrisy of the trolls is just ridiculous. All this nonsense about Brady being fit enough to ride on Thursday as his GP performance prove it are equally ridiculous as there is historical factual evidence to refute that opinion. PC came 2nd in Sweden so he’s obviously fit to ride for Belle Vue this week. Kenny Carter came 1st at Coventry so he’s obviously fit to ride for Halifax this week. Tai secured his World Championship gold so he’s obviously fit to ride for Wolves this week. Etc, etc, etc. If you guys are so skilled in assessing injuries, you are wasted on here and should be triaging patients over Zoom to help speed up the waiting time in A&E. There is though the problem that you may be rubbish at it - just a small chance.2 points

No because Kvech crashed and tried to complete the meeting but couldn’t … tried to race today and clearly can’t ride properly Kurtz crashed … carried on … one a race and almost won the final….. pulled a sickie on the Thursday … only to ride Friday and get a maximum and then win the GP on Saturday Kurtz could have easily rode Thursday he just didn’t fancy it2 points

I once heard a well respected rider say of a youngster " If he was half as good as he thinks he is he would be twice as good as he really is" & I feel this lad falls into that statement.2 points

Rarely agree with Blobby but he is bang on this time. Why should Boughen be giving special treatment? From all accounts a pain in the arse in the pits coupled with a huge ego. Hes had a few knocks and now realises he isn't anywhere near as good as he thinks he is. Been many brits with far better attitudes down the years who have lost out due to averages and rules.2 points

Anyone else got their fingers crossed that Christina isn't the ref tomorrow?? Seems like she still hasn't been to spec savers 😜2 points

I do have an agenda and that agenda is British Speedway, if riders want to come from abroad and live here and build a career, great! They shouldn't then be picking and choosing the meetings they ride in at the expense of British Speedway. Speedway is on a knife edge in this country at the moment, we're not in the Peter Collins/Kenny Carter era when punters would turn up pretty much regardless of who was or wasn't riding, in fact you maybe able to point to the personal antics of riders through the years as one of the main diminishing factors in British Speedway and it continues to this day... and it should be stopped. I really couldn't care what riders do elsewhere, I follow British Speedway, I follow Leicester Lions and that is where I spend my money following this club home and away and I expect when I hand my £23 over at the turnstile to see the rider who I watched only 5 days earlier lift a 2nd place trophy in the SGP, completing all of his rides after his off. I don't expect him to be missing and then turning up abroad the very next night and reeling off a 12 point maximum and then only dropping 3 points at the very highest level the next night. I'm not going to rake up what happened last year, that's been done to death... but he did effectively receive an ultimatum from the SCB... who have been strangely quiet on most issues this year. If you finish your full rides in one meeting unless you sustain a non-Speedway related injury then you should be expected to be competing in your next scheduled meeting. It's a real shame that you should choose to sign off your comments with insults, I thought you were better than that, "a disgusting speedway fan and a disgraceful human being" and a troll wow! I actually felt a bit sorry for you when a section of Ippo fans were giving you abuse earlier in the year, I'm inclined to agree with them now. I hope you enjoy your world travels following Brady Kurtz when British Speedway has failed.2 points

I keep reading on this forum - mainly the premiership section - that speedway has loads of problems, for example, track preparation, no atmosphere, no kids, no young adults just 'old folk', riders not interacting with fans and missing riders. Track preparation - Despite the heat, it was still 25C when I got home at 10.30pm, there was no dust whatsoever and there wasn't an over watered track just a superb smooth one that provided fantastic racing. No atmosphere - the main stand which was virtually full, roared when the 2 youngsters got their first 5-1 in Heat 2 and thereafter when Barker and Howarth, etc, etc had great battles yet again people got to their feet cheering, clapping and clearly enjoying the evening's entertainment. Nicolai Klindt seemed amazed at the applause he got on his laps of honour and came around again after his last race. The back straight terracing and other stands also were busy. No kids - there were a lot kids some of whom participated in two races one for under 10s and one for over 10s - an idea I believe pinched from Plymouth! No young adults - again good numbers some of whom had brought along their kids. Old folk - yes quite a few but all happy to let some of the new fans know what was going on. No interaction with fans - laps of honour saluting the fans and lots of autographs later. Missing riders - both teams a full strength. Yes speedway has problems but last night was just pure entertainment. There were a couple of fans from Leicester in the stand and they seemed a bit surprised by the whole package. Proved you don't need to doctor tracks to win meetings at home, Mr Dixon 😉2 points

Workington have the best track In the championship if not the country although bell vue will argue that.1 point

Really? So the extensive physiotherapy treatment was just undertaken to cover up the fact that he couldn't be bothered to go to Leicester?1 point

Come on, anyone with half a brain cell knows that if Jan rides tomorrow then he’s silly (especially anyone that has just watched Grusziadz vs Toruń) 🤷🏻♂️ join us if you want Iain 😉😂1 point

But he clearly wasn’t hurt that bad if at all, he got up and nearly won that night… then scored a max on Friday, then won the Gorzow GP Saturday 🤷🏻♂️ Jan is clearly hurt, it’s visibly obvious1 point

Will Kurtz ride?? Seriously? If you win a GP you definitely should be riding!!!1 point

Nicolai is a classy rider, professional with good equipment, rode well for the 2018 treble winning Comets at Ashfield scored 18+1 from 7 rides in the Championship fixture. Great place to watch Speedway.1 point

Very impressed with my first visit to Ashfield in over a decade. Great nights entertainment on a marvellous race surface which allowed the riders to express themselves. I left the stadium buzzing. Not a fan of Nicolai Kindt but thought last night he looked really classy. He has been struggling at this level but no issues last night.1 point
