Anybody who thinks Etheridge and Hagon are good guests for Gusts and Knudsen should apply for the position as Peter Shroeck's assistant.8 points

Is this the Anders Rowe who blitzed the current world number 2 last night? Certainly didn’t show signs of lack of fitness3 points

Think it’s great that they want fans to turn up and watch it at the Stadium considering the effort they have put into the Stadium and Facilities.3 points

So should a rider be ill in future then they should cite a (much easier to fabricate) ‘family emergency’ - not suggesting for a minute this is what KH has done btw. This rule needs looked at.3 points

This will be a heavy defeat, nothing to do with the track more to do with our engine room and reserves not being able to support the top two away from home. Changes should have been made, apart from Bewley and Kurtz getting out the gate i can see the home riders reeling in the rest and Dan and Brady have been passed at Foxhall when making the gate as well. Bottom line is we arent as a good a team as Ipswich.3 points

Etheridge a good guest. Hagon blows hot and cold. Should be a close meeting again the way we are riding. Sizzling hot today and tomorrow. Need to flood the track tonight.2 points

Easier to find out than to ask! Kvech will be 24 in October. It's easy to forget how young Kvech is when he always looks as if he's in his 30s.2 points

MAX BROADHURST TAKES THE HONOURS AT THE ALAN GRAHAME MEMORIAL The 2025 Midland Development League came to a close for 2025 at Birmingham with the Alan Grahame Memorial individual with 12 riders contesting it over 9 heats and a final. Birmingham Buffaloes Max Broadhurst took the honours winning all his three qualifying races then remaining unbeaten with success in the final ahead of Ryan Ashcroft and Dylan Huthwaite whilst Eli Meadows took a tumble to end his hopes of remaining unbeaten on the night. With 16 heats in total with 6 junior 125cc demos and a short delay after one of them Cody Smith crashed just before the finish line in his first ride , the pits staff did a first class and efficient job of completing this in 52 minutes !! Cody ended up at hospital with two black eyes, sore wrist and concussion unfortunately. It was a fitting tribute to Alan Grahame who always had time to help the young riders. Heat scorers : Max Broadhurst 9, Eli Meadows 9, Ryan Ashcroft 7, Dylan Huthwaite 6, Harrison Rogers 6, Joe Crewe 5, Jacob Fellows 5, Jack Crewe 3, Bailey Fellows 1, Will Boraston 1, Austin Riches 1, Jake Breeze 1. Final : Max Broadhurst , Ryan Ashcroft, Dylan Huthwaite, Eli Meadows (fell)1 point

Monarchs have an 8 point lead , but they are without Grahn at reserve but have Jacb hook who did well at Glasgow last week with Workington, Will they have Victor or a guest? Will Glasgow have a full team, seems to be a rare thing for Glasgow at the moment. It is doable for the tiggers to go through, they did win 50-40 in the bsn series, it should be a cracking meeting regardless as the Monarchs can ride Ashfield as well as the tiggers, but they haven't came against our Danish rocket, Villads Nagel who rides similar to Ben Basso, without fear.1 point

Absolutely agree Spoken to Dan a few times at Ipswich always got time to have pics after the meeting with my kids and speaks well He has said to me he likes Ipswich and he said the home riders are dialled on and he likes the challenge of where to put the bike to get the best out of it ….. Yes he flies around his home track but a truely top rider wants to learn all tracks and skills and he certainly does that including winning at Cardiff twice Chatted to Kurtz too last time and he came across a decent guy to be fair would be good to see him win the world championship1 point

Transfer window passed. But as it’s the Aces it will probably be allowed. 😉1 point

7 day ban as he missed the Oxford meeting at Kings Lynn last week due to illness.1 point

Went to Sheffield last night to see the Shambolic performance from 4 of the Aces, who scored less combined than Flint (even if you use Dan's 3 points for the tac sub win in the tally). That said, thought it ended up being a decent meeting after the first 6 races, and track prep looked decent. I don't blame Mark for giving Tata time, but he has left it too long, we should have been looking at a double change before the deadline, with him and Blodorn who is also struggling of late. I still feel Norrick could turn it around in the playoffs, but our reserves are a sitting duck and will ultimately cost us in the semi final.1 point

Dont forget they dont change their team mid season and apparently this gives them some sort of solace when they lose heavily. I would prefer my club to change if they can to improve the team.1 point

Not really. The rumours are simply based on Kevin Boothby's illness (he's got leukemia), so they are presuming Towcester and Oxford will be in trouble. Reality is the plans for Suffolk Downs are still ongoing, so there's likely to be more tracks in Boothby's portfolio - not less. If the worst does happen, and he steps down, Mike Davis is likely to take over.1 point

Last time at foxhall Heat 1 …. Doyle passed Kurtz Heat 6….King passed Bewley Heat 8…. Mulford gated twice both times passed by King Heat 14…. Thompson and Cook good battle Heat 15…. King passed Kurtz So yes our track isn’t as good as yours but you still get some good overtaking and close races Though it does seem that when your team do gate at Foxhall the home team have the skill set to get past. Last night proved it’s not just the technical tracks that your bottom 4 struggle with it’s any track1 point

Never been on my radar but i saw him in the meeting at Foxhall on the BSN last week and I did think he looked a prospect!1 point

Yes and as not many bookmakers price the actual match up now,I normally forget the handicap betting and would have had the three yesterday but one of the teams were 100-1 on.1 point

Zach lodges at Middlo's, as does his brother who is usually with him in the pits, and they are all in their own WhatsApp group. Unfortunately it seems not all the riders like the same track prep and once in gets in your head it can affect your performances and your set-ups- especially if riders are carrying niggling injuries as well.1 point

Given that these days riders often peak in their 30s and that 3 or 4 years ago the concensus seemed to be that Brady Kurtz had 'reached his level' I think that is a brave statement.(1 point

There was, but a sprinkle wouldn't have hurt midway through I think. It got so bad the last couple of heats I gave up trying to write in my program, my pen just wouldn't write. I noticed as well that the dirt line got so wide that even Max Fricke couldn't do anything with it in the later heats, like I say it was a shame because the first few heats had some good passing in.1 point

Trouble is there was rain showing on the radar as approaching, so to water it could have been folly... not that anybody seemed to realise this at the pace the meeting was run!1 point

Dust was terrible towards the end of the meeting. Shame because the first few heats had some good racing.1 point

It's tricky deciding how long a rider can be a "rising star" for. Although the age limit has dropped since it started. Many people say the RS are too weak & out of their depth etc. Others say Jenkins & Flint have been RS too long & shouldn't be any more. But once you limit the amount of seasons, you make the standard even weaker, which leads to even more RS out of their depth! I personally think they've got it about right, Flint has come on a lot this season & his average will prevent him being an RS next season.1 point

Thoroughly enjoyed my first trip to Iwade. The site is a bit rough round the edges but its a very friendly club with everybody we came across polite and smiling, you don't get that at many speedway venues. The track was kept in pretty good nick on a very warm and breezy day by an interesting 'water cart' although the old blue groove put in an appearance later on. Racing mainly FTG mainly down to the Young Stars' dominance but there were one or two decent heats with Coops getting past the Kent riders in heat 12 the pick. Jordy Loftus looks a real talent and Jody Scott has come on leaps and bounds this year. Thanks to Jason for getting the team over to the back straight to thank the travelling fans after the meeting, looking forward to celebrating the title on Wednesday evening.1 point

No about 10! Yes it was and the best was yet to come in heat 12... Rew v Harris was tremendous. Sadly that was the last time the outside line worked because there was nothing out wide in the final 3 heats. Kvech gets passed by Barker in his 3rd ride then comfortably wins heat 13 in the quickest heat of the night.1 point

It’s more follow the leader at Sheffield …. Not denying that it’s skilful but to me it’s about bravery as well Lemon clearly stated his riders didn’t attack it and even in that interview Anders Rowe said ‘didn’t want to get too wide’ where as Jack Holder said just got to get out wide …. Some riders are braver than others1 point

putting the ts in against holder off gate one was spot on the track is awful but too many bv riders have ridden the wrong part of the track too often essentially its a gating contest though bar one or two heats too much dirt out wide1 point

He did. What actually happened was: tried his 2nd engine at Glasgow which had been good previously, but after first heat it wasn't good, so swapped to 2nd bike with his usual Workington engine. After his 3rd ride that engine blew up immediately after the race snapping its camchain. Back onto first bike for heat 13 with some big changes and managed to get a win whilst feeling slow. For Workington, now only had one bike so borrowed an engine from Jacob Hook ( as his workshop is in Workington) that was "strong" so that he had 2 bikes (the alternative was a 20 hr round trip to home to collect a spare engine, but only had 19 hrs before the next meeting). Tried Hooky's engine in the first 2 heats but struggled to get out of the starts with it ( heavier flywheels than normal may have been the difference? but jumped back onto the underperforming engine again for the last 2 rides and made some radical changes again and managed to win heat 13 again with a massive cutback off the first turn and a defensive ride. Was out after the meeting on that same underperforming engine trying some other radical changes to see if they helped it to perform better. So a frustrating weekend some high points, some low points and no doubt a big bill to come too. Hope that explains what happened1 point

And then if Thomsen finishes top 7 Vaculik will be promoted to SGP, and if Vaculik also gets top 7 Cierniak will be promoted to SGP 😂😂😂 but then it doesn’t finish there… because Woryna, Madsen, MJJ and Lebedevs are all in with a shout for SEC but I would assume Dudek will win it! If however, Dudek comes second, it’s noted on SGP page it won’t go down to the next person who isn’t in the SGP, it will be a fourth wild card, which I would like to think would be given to Dudek anyway. The line-up is completed by three permanent wild cards selected by the SGP Commission. If the SEC winner finishes inside the Speedway GP top seven, four permanent wild cards will be chosen.1 point
