  1. If the fixtures throughout the season were better organised, rather than having gaps of three or four weeks between fixtures, it wouldn't happen. But it happens year after year and they never learn from it, which, for me, is total incompetence.

  5. I think Ipswich need a 5-1 here because I think belle vue can get at least a draw at foxhall

  6. I do worry for Ipswich tonight tbh, Adam Ellis really has to step up tonight otherwise this could be a bit of a battering. Doyle clearly lacks speed around the NSS, Emil may get the odd win over a BV Heat Leader around the NSS but he usually gets beat by them more often than not. I've got no faith in Danny King stepping up in high pressure situations and Tom Brennan @ No.5 worries me as he's a bit hit or miss this season. Poor performance from Ellis then BV could be looking at a lead of anywhere between 14-20 Points imo.

  7. Well spotted. It's good to know that Poole fans are so well informed and up-to-speed.

  8. Never mind the England game, it clashes with Bake off so I won’t be watching.

  9. Be interesting to see how the crowd is tomorrow night, not only running against England football team, but even closer the game taking place at Tatnam for Poole town! A number of people cross between both sports, me included as a ST holder at Poole town. Think the crowd will be poor tomorrow night, but the club had no other choice other wise it would have been late September. About time other clubs were heavily fined for not completing their fixtures or next stages in comps in a sensible time frame. Year after year we shall be heading well into October when the weather is poor and it ruins the meetings.

  10. Oh Well.... Theres always next year..... Whatever next year will look like!!! To be honest, given how poor the Aces are (their bottom three must be close to being riders 26th, 27th and 28th of the 28 riders left in the play offs), I am amazed Ipswich didn't beat them comfortably, let alone actually lose to them, and I sure many Ipswich fans must have some concern about coming up against either of the other teams who have much greater strength in depth... Sheffield and Leicester must have watched and gained confidence.

  11. Well slight advantage to the Witches I reckon but would suggest no one gets cocky as we all remember 2023!! Not a great night for Emil he was slow away and lacked speed - Jason had a couple of those rides that remind you what a top rider he is! One of two really good races tonight - thought Dan T did well considering he was in the main body of the team and had to face Zach twice DanB and Brady in his 4 rides!! pleased for Jason Edwards too a decent performance to outshine his opposite number! enjoyed it anyway and looking forward to Thursday!

  17. Said it a few times already this season but sticking with Zischke was a huge error from Mark Lemon and co. If Tate wasn't Australian then he would've been sacked imo, Playing favourites has been very costly.

  22. 100% agree! cut off for all league and semi final meetings should be completed by end of August. That gives the whole of September to run the finals with hopefully the weather on your side. Only way to stop it is fine the clubs.

  23. Sadly speedway keeps losing tracks and it's possibly the final countdown for the great sport. What occurs to me, rightly or otherwise, is that speedway is short of top promoters - guys with funds and ideas to introduce new parties to the ranks. I see there are over 400 non league soccer grounds in existence. Plus more rugby stadiums. So can't a wealthy promoter (if they exist of course) find at least 5/6 stadiums capable of joining the speedway world? Ok it would need soccer's permission to build a track around a pitch but why not? I mean for approx 30 years I enjoyed seeing the Comets race 398 yards around Derwent Park's rugby pitch with minimal problems and great speedway. Surely down South or in the Midlands some stadia exist awaiting a promoters call?

  24. So what your saying, if I'm reading this right, nobody was tipping Ipswich tonight because Belle Vue are unbeatable at home apart from the two times out of 3 Ipswich have rode there 🤣. The result was as expected, I said 49-41 before the meeting.

  25. Glasgow supporters go to see good racing and I doubt if anyone will be abusing Poole riders win lose or draw.

  26. He always is.... A shame the racing was poor tonight, as the four World Class riders never really had the chance to show their capability... Heats 13 and 15 being the two stand out races whereby fourth wasn't almost a straight behind first..

  27. Definitely, Doyley was on fire tonight. It wasnt Brady who underperformed tonight.
    1 point
  28. You could give BV double points in this race and it won't make a difference after the 30 Heats have been completed. Rider loyalty has cost BV.

  29. I can think of 2 reasons 1/ the punters at the 2 tracks didn’t like the long delays when they went to the other meeting. 2/ maybe TNT feel that concentrating on the 1 meeting makes for better TV

  34. Im going 49-41 tonight which won't be enough. The pesermism from Ipswich fans is only down to nerves, Ipswich should win comfortably on aggregate.

  39. I pretty much agree... To keep it competitive I'd say Ipswich need... 9 or 10 from their reserves 18 or 19 from Emil & Doyle 11 or 12 from Brennan/King/Thompson I reckon a total of 39 or 40 should lead to a terrific 2nd leg...

  41. Wroclaw are furious with Bewley's performance last night at Home to Torun. The Wroclaw management are now refusing to give Dan Bewley starting permission to take part in tonight's SF 1st Leg who are insisting that he spends the day testing equipment around the Olympic Stadium in their quest to win a losers bronze medal. If Dan doesn't comply then he must pay back every Zloty of his signing on fee.

  45. Regarding the quotes of “if this fails, Speedway is over, and it will never return,” they were an unusual statement to make on a local BBC news report by someone who was supposed to be advocating for the proposed development. However, given the negative tone and the fact that the individual was not particularly enthusiastic about the project, it is understandable why you perceive this as a token gesture. Of course, knowing Osbourne, it is a very fair observation. Nevertheless, the negative responses from the local residents of Wootton Bassett appear to be genuine when considering their misinformed comments about Speedway. Additionally, there are numerous applications for house building in their area, so it is likely that they are also concerned about the potential impact of the Speedway stadium. In conclusion, the speedway public at large should register their support using the link posted above. This initiative primarily aims to secure the Abbey Stadium and prevent any further permissions until the fate of the Studley facilities is determined.

  47. Don't think his list about who he does or doesn't like? It's about his experience at the Club? ( i could be wrong) To leave people off is a polite way of saying what all Brummie fans with half a brain know already! H Man has closed his chapter with dignity!

  48. So after 4 seasons as a Director & Shareholder that's my time with Birmingham Speedway at an end. An eventful, at times stressful, at times farcical and at times enjoyable experience! A huge thanks to the small but loyal Brummie fanbase that put up with season after season of under performing teams, you deserved better! Full credit and my upmost respect to Nigel Tolley, he wasn't far short with the figures he quoted in the recent speedway star interview with what he invested in the club (there was also a six figure investment from other shareholders during the period I must add). Nigel is as mad as a (top) hatter, but I really like the guy. My only criticism of him (and he knows this, I told him enough times) is that he allowed himself to be influenced by others who failed to deliver for the club! Seeing the day to day finances and operations of the a Championship and then Premiership club is a real eye opener, so a massive thanks to Financial Director Tracey Smith, who somehow managed to juggle the finances to keep everyone happy (most of the time) a truly lovely lady, she has been the glue in a massively disjointed operation, which would have fallen apart without her. Some priceless moments over the 4 years on the management zoom meetings / race nights - I could write a book! You also learn a lot about riders, some smashing chaps around Paco Castagna (legend) Freddie Lindgren, Tobi M, Leon Flint, Sam Hagon, Jason Edwards, Thompson twins all really good guys! No comment about some mind Made some great friends, I will miss Guesty, Dave Rowe, Pete & Dan Ballinger, Chris Adams, the guys and girls from the supporters club and fellow shareholders Steven, Jake and Vic. Such a shame that Birmingham Speedway is no more, but without Nigel it wouldn't have got into 2023 let alone 2025 and for that alone he deserves the respect of those who knock him! Give us a B.....! Cheers Paul
