  1. After the complaints about Kurtz and Bewley on Thursday night, it was good to see Fricke and Holder on Saturday prioritising their Prem SF commitments 😉

  2. As you have no idea whats going on between the two clubs and the riders availability , or even if its Poole who cant fit it in, I think your comment is pathetic.

  3. Incorrect, not scoring more points than Bartosz cost him the title. All riders knew the scoring system before it started.

  4. Only rider who deserves a wild card is laguta who was robbed of defending his title by the woke tossers that are the FIM

  5. A simple rule !!! If riders are tied after 20 heats it goes to wins, 2nds and 3rd’s - if that cannot split them then the fastest time set by each rider is the determining factor. It shouldn’t be but it is. All because they couldn’t work out who beat who in the 4 rider tie in Cardiff in 2024.

  6. Well who would believe it, its raining Datsun Cogs up here on Teesside, right call once again.

  7. Think this should get through your thick skull……quote…’ Redcar are at home on Sept 20 and 26 so undoubtedly wouldn't want another home meeting the following day, nor the 27th. Sept 30 may be embargoed due to SON in Poland ( Sept 30 to October 4) crazy but would also explain why Sunday October 5 is the first available date. ‘. ……unquote.

  8. Spring races were introduced at the beginning of this season... why ? ... to stop Zmarzlik winning the 6th. Also, everyone knew them as part of the new scoring system. Zmarzlik proved to be faster there than Kurtz. You better ask yourself by what kind of "rule" Kurtz got direct place in the final instead of Lebedev who beat him in heat 17

  9. Yes I agree 100%. Last was typical of Morris and co in how they do their business. After every block of rides out comes the watering can. Regardless how good or bad the racing has been. You can bet your bottom dollar, the poor riders who have to go out after watering are in a lottery. Wroclaw being a fine example. Good racing on a dry track week in week out yes, slick sometimes, but at least it's a fair playing field. Come the GP and the track didn't even remotely look like Wroclaw. The FIM, rather than play about with scoring system and introducing silly sprint races, should concentrate on what Morris has been doing all season, which is f**k up good speedway tracks!

  10. It is so both teams can be at full strength for the play offs and makes it fair,The season ends October 31st.

  11. How are they childish just stating there’s atleast 4 dates and then the start of October before the 5th aswell ridiculous, and why would I be blaming Poole there not the ones who have decided such a late date to rearrange, this 100% lays with Redcar.

  12. I don't think you can really. put it down to a snapped chain. If it was a one off final like back in the day, then yes you have a case. But over ten rounds imo I don't think so. Even without the chain issue, he only just scraped into the lcq as the lowest scorer that night in Prague. You could also say Kurtz had three rounds on his home track. Plus a former home track in Sweden. Kurtz has definitely taken it to another level this season and Bartoz had to ride out of his skin, just to hang on to his coat tails. I personally think the scoring system and the sprint race are all wrong. How many times have we seen riders miss out on a direct passage to the final like Lebedevs tonight, after scoring good pts in their five programmed rides. That doesn't take anything away what Kurtz has achieved. "Five GP wins". That is a record what might be not be broken. I think he will start favourite for next years series. So all in all it has been a fantastic debut season for him. It's just he has come against a very special rider.

  15. One thing that stood out to me this year and has to stop........over watering of the track. And it appears to me no one is allowed to talk about it.... not the riders, not the commentators, not those that interview or are interviewed. Over watering spoilt more than a few races this year....some of them "key" races.

  16. If rumors from Poland are to be believed WBD wont be involved anymore next year. Apparently they are in the process of selling all the speedway rights. There should be an official announcement coming soon.

  17. Premiership is governed by the TNT deal but the Championship has made an absolute horlicks of their fixtures this year with none of the competitions anywhere near being concluded. No doubt due to riders being unavailable at various times due to foreign commitments, not to mention all the guests used for uninjured riders. Its been a complete mess and will probably only get worse before the end of October. A massive rethink needed for next year.

  19. BSN should be completed by the end of June (early season competition). KOC should be completed by the end of August (top league KOC completed in July) If that was to be followed there would be loads of time to complete other fixtures.

  20. and you know the availability of all 14 riders ? The stadium? The staff ? Let the clubs sort it out and if your not happy …….tough.

  24. More speed at the end of the straight can be achieved with something as simple as smaller sprockets, the more teeth you take off the further the bike goes in a straight line before it hits its maximum speed but it’s a fine balance because the compromise in that is it takes longer to get to that optimum speed and the straights are short, a bigger sprocket will help you get out the start but that’s no good if half way down the straight the engine has maxed out, think of gearing like the gearbox in your car, 1st gear will always pull away faster than 3rd but it will run out of speed at 100yards and 3rd takes over to take it to next level of speed, one other thing that zmarzlik does which no other rider does is sit at the back of his seat entering the corner, everyone else sits at the front, back in the 80s Bruce penhall had his engine plates especially made so the engine was an inch further back in the frame thus moving the engine weight further towards the back wheel, an inch may sound nothing but in speedway every slight change can make the difference

  25. What ever the sport, you go into a competition knowing the rules and the parameters. Whether they are seen to be right or wrong by some is irrelevant. The biggest disappointment for me is the general preparation and state of the tracks, they have been terrible and almost gate and go. Well done to BZ but Brady conducted himself well as a human being let alone as a sportsman. The record books will show BZ as equalling winning the most world titles, if he wins one more then he will be the GOAT,

  26. He has too turn left at the end of the straight though, which the rest can’t do .!!

  28. He is great to watch, however, most of his passes are down the straights using phenomenal straight line speed... Meaning he has a proper "rocket ship" under him, as skill alone wouldn't generate such straight line speed that is so much quicker than everyone else... All top iders have top notch fast machinery, and all can gate too (it's a fallacy that the likes of Bewley and Sayfutdinov cannot, as it they couldn't, they simply wouldn't be top riders)... A decent GP season, for once, as it went literally to the wire, with the only negative being the appalling track soakings that a certain someone seems to think enhances the racing... It definitely doesn't ..

  29. No my point is that Kurtz's plan ( fair play to him I have no issue with him ) was to gate scarper off try and build up enough of a lead while BZ who was dead last in a least three of the last five finals fights his way to the front . I take nothing away from Kurtz ,Hancock won his last two titles that way I do however remember how people moaned it was boring something never said about BZ ! The big problem if there is one for s/way is BZ only thirty years old IMO has another five yrs ( barring injury ) riding at the level he is now.Might even get better who knows I certainly think there are more titles ,I could watch him winning them all day long personally because of the manner and skill which he demonstates as he goes about his business .

  30. As a result of Thursday night, I am absolutely delighted that Zmarzlik is the World Champ.

  31. I'm just not sure if Doyle deserves another wildcard. He got one this year when there was already more than enough Aussies in the series and failed to make the cut. Yes, he missed a round, but he didn't exactly set things alight in the rounds he did do. One final all year. Then again, there aren't really any better candidates outside of Laguta, so he probably should get one.

  32. Imagine how good BZ would be if he could gate consistenly as well ! But he has time on his side .

  35. I call him the Goat not just because how many titles he has won but because his ability on a speedway bike, it is far in excess of any rider now or historically, he is an out and out racer and he has provided some of the best 4th to first moves of the last few years, his ability to read a situation and react is matched by nobody, he never jumps the start, he never has mechanical issues his discipline and his will to win are are a hard act to follow, statistically he isn’t there yet but he is 30 and 6 times winner, 8 medals in 9 years 6 gold, that is the Goat

  38. Have they? They take British riders away from league fixtures on a regular basis to go and finish well down the finishing order on the continent and have only staged 2 Test Matches (both at Glasgow) in the last 5 years. They've failed to get any kind of exposure since twice winning the SoN and the only chance the fans get to hear of what's going on is by following them on social media that seems more interested in pushing the wares of their sponsors and running some kind of lottery. Yes, they're doing a better job of running the GB Speedway Team than their predecessors but you have to ask to what end?

  39. Same every season……all the prime fixtures are run on muddy tracks in dodgy weather with p. Poor racing. record breaking low rainfall throughout the summer and we have spasmodic fixtures due to British gp, swc, bournemouth playing football, England playing tiddlywinks, and any number of random excuses. last Thursdays FTG at Ippo due to wet track conditions was an example. …

  40. I don’t get all this if there was more speedway at weekends more would attend. If you make the product & the competition’s something that appeals to the public then they would attend whatever night it was on. Ipswich have always ran on Thursday nights & have always historically & currently attract some if not the best uk crowds for speedway. The product & value for money is the biggest driver.

  43. With the exception of Fricke there are substantive arguments against everyone else. All the other GP riders were simply mediocre. Nobody could be said to be unlucky in the Challenge. The SEC will give us Dudek (either as winner or 4th wildcard - all his closest competitors are already in), there are no consistently impressive performers in the major leagues that haven't already been accounted for. And that just leaves Emil and Artem. Assuming we don't expect a 5th Pole the best candidates are: Highest ranked rider in 2025 GP series not already qualified: Mikkel Michelsen [or Doyle if you take account of his missed GP] Highest averaged rider in Ekstraliga: Michelsen again Highest averaged rider in Elitserien: Ryan Douglas Highest averaged rider in Premiership: Douglas again [or Doyle if you include KO Cup matches] So based on results it has to be Michelsen and Doyle or Douglas - but I suspect commercial considerations will override the evidence.

  45. Wow.... Take a bow Brady.... Five GP's on the bounce!!!!! The first time ever? What an achievement!!!! No shame in losing so closely to quite possibly the GOAT... Let's get Laguta back next year to add to the spectacle... Six times World Champion!!! An Amazing rider...

  47. Thanks for the insight. I still don't think it's a valid comparison to speedway though regarding admission cost. The stock car meetings at Foxhall always seem packed, they charge for parking as well plus they get the catering/bar income. Profits for these meetings I think will be way in excess of what speedway could make. Do you know if the admission cost for meetings with lower formulas is significantly lower? For speedway I'd estimate outgoings for each meeting to be around 25-26k, not adding in any profit margin. They have to recoup this of course but I'd expect stock car outgoings to be lower. Overall, I think the entry price for speedway is ok in the Premiership. Blimey, I paid £19 for a fish and chips meal at a pub last week plus £7 for a glass of wine - I'd have rather been at the speedway!
