It's interesting that those who run Speedway as a "stand alone" business seem to do quite well each season... Generally much better than those who run it as an expensive hobby, or get it subsidised by stock cars... Maybe when it is your day to day income stream it focuses the mind more? A few more like Chris Louis and the sport would be in much better shape...6 points

Going by the highlighted comments, at least you’re admitting how the Poole track rides……lol4 points
-
Poole fans talk absolute tripe It’s not about who finished where in the league it’s how teams get on against each other Ipswich struggle against Kings Lynn at Foxhall because their riders go well there and in comparison Belle Vue who are a better side than Lynn according to league position can’t ride Foxhall for toffee and get thumped there Poole have won at Glasgow and only lost by 8 as well this season At Poole , Glasgow have lost by 14 and 24 Poole should win comfortably over 2 legs final league position has nothing to do with it , its about how certain teams go at certain tracks3 points

Speaking as a neutral with a somewhat 'helicopter view' of the sport (tho I cheered out loud when Dan won SGP rounds & GB won the SONs), I'm pleased for Chris Louis & all at Ipswich. They obv did a lot of promotion down Foxhall way going by the huge crowd, hearing rock music played on the PA (did anyone else notice Rock & Roll All Nite by Kiss ?)+ the flame pots on the centre green, the meeting looked an occasion where one would say "I wish I'da bin there". That's how it's done, good stuff....3 points

I find it hilarious that TW is described by us as some sort PR wonder-boy that has 'media cut through'. He is the guy that Philip Lanning can write a couple of ludicrous word-soup articles about in The Sun each year. Just like he once did with Gary Havelock; and now (apparently) Harry Rednapp. None of it has cut-through. And there is not one single extra bum on any seat; anywhere.3 points

They had better get the track sorted so you can pass on the outside then.... Dan will end up paying to get back in on some nights.... It would be a good move for him though, as it would definitely sharpen up his gating as you cannot be fourth into turn one at Foxhall and keep expecting to win like he does at the NSS... And he also can sometimes get passed on the inside at GP level, given he tends to ride mid track and wider, especially on the tighter tracks, so having to ride the white line more at Foxhall will also help his overall riding level grow...3 points

17 race retirements this season, 12 for Leicester (more than everybody else that rode for Leicester combined) and 5 for Berwick. Based on 4 programmed rides that's 3 complete meetings he just couldn't be bothered to finish. If you've not fallen off and your bike is still under any kind of power there is no excuse for not finishing races.3 points

Joined a podcast team this week talking about all things speedway, on this week with Stuart Robson and Nigel Crabtree, giving my opinions about various subjects, they asked if I could share it,so here it is,what do you think ? Agree or disagree with me ?2 points

A brilliant meeting and some good hard racing, Vinnie was hard done by to loose a chain while leading the last heat, could have won outright, will cairns missed the gate so did not get into the run off. While the run off itself was hard fought, well done all riders you were a credit to the sport. Cooper Rushden looks a fantastic prospect at 15 years old2 points

They need to get a bit WWE.... Tai shouting into the camera, "Arm gonna fence the ass off you Zmarzlik!"... Doyley telling Madsen "Yer gonna wish you hadn't qualified, bacon head!".. Dan screaming to Jack Holder, "With all due respect Jack, I hope we have a really good meeting and some great races against each other, and may the best man win'.. Well, maybe not the last one... Etc. Etc. Etc.2 points

Hopefully, if Dan Bewley does ride for Ipswich next year, he'll have learned to spell it correctly.😃2 points

Nah, he likes the tea😜, actually told me he's on holiday 😁. I get your drift but sorry nobody can replace Emil 😩 Must add, Keynan rode like a goodun on Cam's bikes and Adam's kevlars.2 points
-
Anyone else think that all of these compliments from Bewley have a deeper meaning. I can see him replacing Emil next season tbh.2 points

Such a nice lad is Dan. One of speedway’s real good guys. Never met anyone with a bad word to say about him.2 points

Have only missed 1 fixture this season at Workington and that was the pairs as it was my m8s wedding who goes to the speedway with me occasionally and I live 70 miles away.2 points

8 day rule doesn’t apply in the playoffs, so he is available to ride tomorrow, if he had ridden last night then he would of been unavailable tomorrow1 point
-
Well he clearly wasn’t just talking about the podium they were standing on was he 🙄 it’s obvious he was talking about the supporters and the atmosphere around it. They weren’t supplied by British Speedway.1 point
-
I disagree its nonsense hence the best riders in the world ride Poland. Bewley has areas to improve none of them are to do with riding tiny tracks. Unless Ipswich are going to get a GP, which they won't.1 point
-
Big mistake if there are and even more so if it’s two over the same weekend which is just not required. If there is to be 2 UK GPs they could do a lot worse, all things considered than giving Ipswich a go which would attract a larger attendance than Manchester at a significant lower cost and thereby to provide reasonable admission prices & a good profit for the promotion.1 point

Agreed, and a 2nd division season average of 4.8 hardly qualifies you to be a "super dane" haha1 point

Although it’s potentially the weakest I’d say it has the option to be the most competitive because it’s more evenly spread. you know why… British speedway is taking over 😉 all this big money coming in 😂 sorry I just woke up from my dream!1 point

Looks like all the rumours are correct, Fair to say it's the weakest looking Ekstraliga in years with various riders opting to drop down a league. Czestochowa's relegation is a 1 Million percent certainty in 2026 and Gorzow are a certainty to compete in the Promotion / Relegation play-off again.1 point

Just like Redcar last night! If its so obvious you'ld think most teams and riders would get their machinery set ups right!?1 point

That's a couple more articles than are currently appearing in the national press currently though. SoN win last year, not a mention, Dan always winning the British GP, nothing, BZ winning a 6th Championship, nothing. Tai farts, article printed in the newspaper! And it's not about reading an article in the paper and then heading off trance like to your nearest Speedway venue, much in the same way that you don't watch an advert on the TV and have the sudden need to go and but some sanitary pads (😲). It's about brand awareness and gaining some kind of traction in the public consciousness.1 point
-
I really dont know what has happened to them, they havent had Riss most of the season but coped well, Scott is a big miss but other riders have dropped off which you cannot cover.1 point

Looking forward to attending both meetings in wot will be an epic finale for the Championship League Title 🏆 There's no doubt that Glasgow 🐯 boast a strong top 5 but they av a weak tail which will be exploited by we PIRATES ☠️. After seeing the PIRATES strength and determination at the business end of the season every rider 1-7 are very capable of beating anyone. C'mon the Boyzzz ☠️ 💪1 point

Booze and tobacco companies sponsored many sports back in the day. The modern equivalent is now betting companies who appeal to a very wide demographic of customer and actually advertise their sporting markets with some very good visual & creative commercials that creates a wide awareness of the sport across multiple media channels The “Bet 365 SuperLeague of Speedway” maybe? or slogans like Paddy Power is Speedway Power1 point
-
All proper "working men" sponsors.... Who knew their target audience will all be in attendance... And Speedway was to the "working man" a "cheap night out" in relation to his disposable income... Many Aces fans would watch United or City then attend the Speedway in the evening .. You are looking at £150 and more, with admission costs, transport, food and drink, to do that now... And with mortgage costs, mobile contracts, satellite TV costs, gas/electric/water bills, car ownership costs, and all other "mod cons" that people have these days, that disposable income has shrank hugely... Getting someone (even a "regular" never mind a "newbie") to pay out circa £30, twice a month, to watch Speedway, which has no major financial reward nor public awareness, must be a massive challenge....1 point

When the home No1 can only muster 8pts from 5 rides and your No 5 can only score 6pts from 5 rides. Then it's inevitable that your not going to get much success, especially against such a good team as Poole.1 point
-
There is a very simple way to stop riders just giving up at the back. Make the scoring 4,3,2,1 for those who finish the race and 0 for those who don't finish for whatever reason.1 point

Next Wednesday and Friday are going to be absolute humdingers. Glasgow the favourites but we are riding well enough to cause an upset. Bring it on!1 point

Nothing to do with the tm. Beaten by a better team with better riders.1 point

Don't forget booze! At Wimbledon we had the Skol Pairs, the Whitbread Trophy etc. Tolly Cobbold sponsored meetings at Mildenhall. I remember the outrage when Durex sponsored a Test series...1 point
-
I agree with you he shouldn't be in the series based on recent form... I did say earlier though that he should in to generate some much needed publicity for the series, he can do that more than the rest combined imo.1 point
-
That's why IMO BZ is the GOAT no gate and go ,almost all his races are box office !1 point

A bigger farce than Kvech & Huckenbeck? A bigger farce than still including a local wild card even though all locales were already catered for? A bigger farce than the Sprint Races? A bigger farce than the points scoring system... I'll leave it at that for the time being 😁1 point
