True to a degree and we do the same, we tried it with a none Poole rider this year but it didnāt work for us sadly so have gone back and sponsored a Poole rider for 2026. We have experienced so many times in the past, we sponsor - give the money and rarely hear anything from the riders until the time comes again when they need fresh sponsorship for the next year. Not all riders, we dealt with some cracking riders one in particular was exceptional. But with money not so freely available, riders should probably learn quick on that, how many are driving around or flying daily, how long does it take to send a simple text once in a while? Donāt need to be wined and dined but a personal message would go a long way. I hear the same with clubs too. Appreciation goes along way and we donāt put money into riders for the business we do it because I love the sport and want to help riders progress in a small way and hope it helps.4 points

Poole take emerging youngsters like fjoord, cairn, rushen because they can see the potential, they have already developed from youth leagues and amateurs...bit like Scunny had with Harrison...Poole sign them and shout out to the world"Look what we unearthed" they may refine them and mould them into better riders but seem to want the credit of finding them4 points

You really must be deluded if you think it's nothing to do with the money. Nothing wrong with paying top dollar that's the way it works but don't keep denying it.3 points

Sure the money is important, but I think people are right when they say that Poole offer something else to riders, there is a winning culture at the club with a proven expectation of success. Riders inevitably improve their GSA over the season, and have something to show for their achievements by the end. All attractive features for riders and in particular for, those starting off at Championship level.2 points

Better incentives to join? a quarantee of a van? a place to stay ovenight?maybe pay more travel money...Poole is a big fish in a small pond, its akin to liverpool dropping to the championship. riders would still want to ride for them, its the draw of playing for a successful team,, but you cant say you have unearthed another talent,,some one else has done that and its a plus if based down south2 points

Mark Loram was number 7 for Hackney in the top league in 1987, they came to Canterbury for a challenge in the opening meeting. I know he scored at least 1 point as he beat me in heat 2 (i fell off while ahead of him). Regarding Kings Lynn, the track used to be used almost every day when Darcy Ward and Kozza Smith lived at the stadium and John Oliver was local, with plenty of open practice days. The Danes used to have their pre-season practice there as well as the young Brits too1 point

You would hope on the drink and drugs at least the SCB would be insisting on regular testing but he hasnāt been caught for that so he could deem it a bit unfair1 point

Four and an individual. Plus years of Young Stars/Boston/Norfolk Braves up to 2016. And training schools, practice sessions etc. You Poole folk really should do your research before trapping off and looking daft.1 point

How can he reassure the supporters? For whatever reason something radical changed between the end of October & mid November that meant that he didnāt that he could or wanted to run Ipswich anymore. The statement put out when he announced it was going up for sale was clear enough. He isnāt running Ipswich in 2026 if a buyer can be found then it will carry on. He canāt guarantee heāll find a buyer & as Louis isnāt going to run it in 26 no chance of being able to provide guarantees. Unlike the other promoters Louis doesnāt have other businesses that he can offset loses against. Louis seems to have put his family & financial security above running Ipswich speedway in a climate that could see him sustain losses that he canāt afford. Because of that he has my support because no one else on here would take a major gamble like that with no other income stream.1 point

The young German lad, could be a master stroke, but seems to have been signed on the back of the SON 2 event, will probably be like a lot of others and crap himself at the dump and Plymouth1 point

Makes me laugh when Robbo is on, great rider but... whenever he's asked anything about a meeting or a rider, he's never seen it or them š Love it when Crabby is on, no nonsense as a rider and manager, no nonsense as a pundit1 point

Actual quotes from Louis say the deal is is progressing, and he is hoping to announce a deal between Christmas and the New Year. But the article mentions that if there is no sale, then there won't be a team.0 points
