  1. He means business. He’s at the Houses of Parliament today discussing speedway.

  2. I’d say it definitely was personally. He’s mentioned “multi contracts” between the two clubs more than once and better access to the rider market. So basically when you sign for Wroclaw, you also sign for Ipswich in the British League. They can say no of course, but then they’ll run the risk of waking up with a horses head in their bed.

  3. Richard and Andrew are top guys. Speaking and listening to them and actually seeing they share similar concerns is such a positive thing to see, and that they understand the situation WE are in. And I say we because everyone on this forum is a speedway fan and this isn’t just a one up on other British teams, it’s a chance for us to pull this sport in the right direction. Let’s face it, people would be moaning if the same old same old was happening, it needs a change and these guys can actually do something about it. They can sit at a table and people can take note, they run a multimillion pound successful business in other sports, let them do their thing, give them time, and let’s hold our judgement until a few years time. British speedway in general should be happy this sort of stuff is taking place, and Ipswich fans shouldn’t be gloating about anything, we as fans should support other clubs too and try and really build this sport. OK maybe we won’t support kings Lynn but still 😉 I also like that they see a clear vision on what needs to happen, not just saying what people want to hear but speak clearly on what they plan to do. PS Mr Coleman if you read this one, good luck 🤞🏻 we have a real good captain at the helm it appears!

  4. Fair play to Chris Louis, he did make several amendments to the track after seeing the racing at the NSS... Widening the entrances and exits of the bends.. However, there is only so much he could have done within the confines of the Stock Car track... Not everyone can build an NSS replica...

  5. This is the R1 fixture rearranged from the rain-off in May. Poland takes priority because their fixture was (re)arranged first. You should moan to the BSPA/L or the Promoters: 10 home league matches in six months is a hectic schedule to sort out, and they shouldn't have committed to such a difficult task 😝

  6. Given that belle vue are clearly “the second coming” why haven’t your holier than thou club sorted British speedway out on a better path for everyone?

  8. This was spoken about, they do have more equipment that was written online and they are investing in more, including a potential wonder wheel. Summer ‘27 the stadium gets some renovation but Mayfield have said they would pay rent upfront to bring that renovation forward. Nobody can say they aren’t trying!!! They have a good hour or so for Q&As last night and also one to ones!

  9. Doubt it! He said they are not the answer to the future! And I agree totally!

  11. History says you are probably right but because he is first and foremost a business person and will not take any nonsense from the fools that run the sport over, if pushed to the point where it directly affects his investment he might think outside the box and counter any threats with a possible withdrawal from the British League and apply for Witches race in the second tier of the Polish league on a Thursday night guaranteeing regular meetings once a fortnight and on Sundays they could set up a large screen at Foxhall to show Ekstraliga matches live. No problem with noise levels and extra income for the stadium. You never know but at least someone has come in to get things moving forward because we all know what a great spectacle speedway is and if marketed by those with a eye for selling, it could be the new beginning it needs in this country rather than continue to rely on the cozy speedway masons cartel who run the show now.

  12. They need too tell these riders who want to go to Poland and sit in the pits earning money to make up their mind.Rather see a junior rider at least getting a chance.

  13. Yes r/r got you pretty much what Cook would have scored having got 3,3 and 1 and a surprising 7 as well so 2 is roughly what he would have got Still not sure how we won the meeting with the weakest 1-7 we have had in years …. Last season Emil Doyle Ellis and Dan T replaced this season with Lawson Musielek Nicholls and PHB all vastly inferior to the riders they replaced and still Belle Vue can’t win Kurtz as expected scored heavily … might have been different if he had a big meeting at the weekend but we can’t be that lucky every time We can’t possibly beat Belle Vue over 2 legs they are so good at home where riders like Blodorn and Tate and Kildemand don’t have to really worry about a skill set just got to open the throttle and go for it …Kurtz and Harris do have the skill set to ride anywhere because they are class riders .. we need to hope they get Sheffield in the semis lol Bonus point doesn’t matter really we will still be 4th as even though we are weak we still better than Lynn or Northampton Maybe next season if we take out Tobi and King and have a couple of weaker riders than Belle Vue can win at Foxhall who knows

  15. Klindt has a history and will be expensive as he knew he was the only option. The others less so as they are reasonably sensible in riding for clubs where they actually know they will get paid on time and don’t appear to chase the money and change clubs every season.

  16. To be fair he is the ultimate big fish in a small pond in the championship, and he's played the game like a finally tuned fiddle, knows he's too old now to make it into the gp , rides for two of the best clubs in the UK so knows he will get paid on time. At championship level he can win most rides in his sleep and at top level he's still a 7 point man without too much bother. Also self employed so he has winter earnings covered and can fit work around speedway. If you're one of the 90% of riders who won't make it to the top level he is the blue print to follow for decent earnings without the cost of a gp team.

  17. Ah wondered when old Spiv would rock up with his Coleman is the Antichrist stuff 😴 Oh BTW Spiv, do you still believe Coleman is a complete fraud and there won’t be a GP series this year? Just asking fella.

  18. Whilst it benefits us to have Doyle and Cook missing, unfortunately once again the sport has zero credibility. So important after Richard Colemans statement last night but what will change only time will tell. However, we've been here before and you cannot blame people for being cynical.

  19. He already told people last night he was going HoP today to meet with local MPs. Let’s face it, he is the only one actively getting off his arse and doing something about this sports so let’s all actually get behind him before we don’t have a sport to watch at all!

  20. All depends on which Kurtz and which Harris turns up Blodorn been doing better this season so might do better tonight No Doyle so going 42–48

  21. I could not agree more Vince every race is box office with him , the other riders don't let him through as many on here say he exerts such pressure and speed they can't stop him .

  22. Overall this is a sensible move and hopefully the commitment is there to see it through. Like many before him Coleman will not be fully embraced by the BSPA//L and will become a disruptor because of his passion, innovation and commercial interest all of which antagonise the status quo. The backstabbers will be sharpening their steel and rinsing their bobble hats, I can't wait to be proved wrong

  23. Yes and he intimated it was a waste of time and the contract ends I think at the end of this season.

  24. Richard was quite clear last night that he thinks it can't really operate properly without 8 teams and that the gap between PL and CL needs to be bigger - he cited Poole and Glasgow as the obvious choices to join but that we'd then need to race on Wednesday as well but he didn't think that was an issue. He also dissed the fact that we've had three home meetings against King's Lynn this year! He wants independent leadership as no sport which runs itself is successful and too many navel gaze about how it affects their track, which doesn't move the sport forwards. Overall I was impressed with his views, he's also badgering the FIM about developing careers of young riders - just having and SGP3 or 4 doesn't generate the riders in the first place. Given he's only been involved this year he seems to have spotted a lot of the flaws/things which need improving and apparently his children can't stop watching speedway!

  25. Spot on there's probably ten or so riders that have that attitude I would rather have a tryer in at who got 4-5 points a meeting than a fella who could get 13-15 one week and then blatantly show zero interest the next meeting. KK was another case when riding, unbeatable when in the mood and then looked like he had never been on a bike when he didn't fancy it.

  26. Speedway Futures were mentioned 😂 @Ouch it was mentioned also about Ipswich running a NDL team in the near future.

  27. I do indeed remember them. But I’ll look at it another way to you. We tried to help Tom in the next step of his career to help him progress. Learning from Doyle and Emil and further his speedway education riding in a successful team, giving him a Champions medal in front of a healthy crowd. Instead of leaving him to fester at a club that just wasnt supported, riding in front of one man and his dog at a track that had no future. You can look at things in different ways, depending on your agenda.

  28. I suggested this the other week on the Sheffield v Northampton thread.. Now, "maybe" Richard was already in talks with Wroclaw, and "maybe" he wasn't.... (Taps nose knowingly and winks)... The size of the sport in the UK makes it perfect for it to be a feeder league to Poland... I would go as far as to say that UK clubs should form links with them... The BSB deliver a great product using some old heads, some young UK riders, and some young riders from Europe, Japan, and Australasia who are not ready for the higher echelons.. They ensure that the talent they "lose" to MotoGp and WSB as the best riders, organically, move through the levels, get replaced by the next riders in line, due to running several lower classes including youth racing... They don't rely on other competitions to bale them out, nor allow other competitions to impact their fixture schedule... In short. They know their place and cloth is cut accordingly.. The result is a strong competitive format... Given the amount of young Poles who ride Speedway there will be a surplus of reasonable talent that cannot get team places, therefore, the UK should enable them to ride over here as part of their development.. In any business, why wouldn't a smaller entity try and forge great relations with the biggest business in their industry?... UK Speedway is now at a point where it needs significant help, and a conveyer belt of riders from the No1 Speedway nation on earth would certainly help them.. And, at the same time, help Poland with their overall rider development...

  29. “There are lots of areas where we will be stronger together than we would be on our own. I'm quite excited and enthused about the benefits that this strategic partnership can bring." One obvious potential area for cooperation could be with riders. Could Wroclaw send the likes of 2021 World Champion Artem Laguta, Brady Kurtz or Dan Bewley to Foxhall? Belle Vue boss Mark Lemon might have something to say about the latter two options and Laguta is not known for being a fan of the tight and technical Ipswich track. But Coleman hopes the strategic partnership, as he calls it, could open some doors for the Witches in terms of attracting top talent to Foxhall. Asked if Wroclaw may have a role in team-building, Coleman replied: "That has already been discussed. Obviously, these things have to work for both parties and the riders we are talking about. But I feel that Wroclaw will be very helpful and involved in how we build our squad for 2027. "Ultimately, we were very late with team-building after I was able to buy the club for this year, so we were on the back foot with how we built the squad "I'm really pleased and proud of how we were able to build the team given the lateness of everything coming together. But I want to be in the opposite camp for 2027. I want to be building a squad early.” Just a snippet from today’s Star. First three pages dedicated to Wroclaw buying 30% of the Witches. Well worth a read not just for Ipswich fans either.

  30. I think Berwick will be the happier of the 2 teams, but would still fancy Poole to progress if they had a full strength team at Berwick. I'm a bit surprised Poole have stuck with Bowes for so long, normally quick to make changes.

  37. Lawson was wanted by his Danish team, they had priority. Surely Zach should be at Ipswich tonight, why does Poland get priority on a normal Premiership race night.

  38. Zach is riding in Poland today which is why he is not riding for Belle Vue tonight, no reason why he should not return for Friday.

  43. I think he has a very good notion of what needs to be done and what he is up against - lets hope he doesn't find the barriers to dragging this sport up to a proper level of standards and scrutiny are doomed to fail! Potentially the 'blooding up' of lots of up and coming riders etc - If he makes the gate he is rarely caught!
