Well a lot of people are commenting on why the forum is in decline, this past several posts is a point why a lot of people don't interact anymore. And most of it is on the Poole page so it's affects their popularity as well. Why can't these pointless posters stop their fued

Batch had a bad night but u can see in the pits he was working on 2 bikes and heard him say he has ordered a new engine,and ofcourse he turns up week after week,give him a bit of slack.

We'll have to say it's never a hindrance to us and if anyone wants to chat or sit on the bike it's no problem.

I've got the all on "ignore", it really is a useful tool (unlike them!!).

I post on there now and again, seems a shame not to at least look in now and again after all the hard work @IainB put in setting up the new site, on the plus side at least this site has improved since its been back online regarding adverts coz it used to craze me the amount of adverts popping up every time i looked in, and i haven't set up an ad blocker so fingers crossed it continues as it is currently.

its got a whole lot more professional since then ,, riders don't have time for the plebs who pay their wages anymore ... some are so selfish they don't even do the victory parades because their vans are loaded and off to Poland . I've even seen one refuse to do heat 15 in case he missed his flight

At this stage why don't we just allow the premiership to race over the weekend? Yes we will loose some top riders but this is a price we might have to pay. The general public don't know who Dan Bewley and Jack Holder are, they just want an enjoyable night out at a reasonable price. If clubs don't have to pay for the top riders then the meeting might be more affordable. Also, the racing is likely to be closer as more clubs can compete at a similar level. We always compare ourselves to ice hockey but they don't spend all their money trying to get players from the NHL over so why should we?

I'll be honest with you, the riders don't really care for it. Sure you'll get a couple who will smile for selfies and go through the motions but only because the promoters have told them to. In fact most promotors see it as an inconvenience but see it as a necessity to keep what paying punters they have happy. And don't even get started of the snarling pit marshals. You lowly creatures of annoyance are on his sacred patch. This is his kingdom and if you outstay your welcome he will be snapping at your heels like an angry jack russell.

Exactly. They just want to do their job and get out of there. And lets look at it from their point of view, If you were doing some work to your car would you want a bunch of wulfsport jacket wearing mongs standing around you staring at something most know f*** all about? I remember some promotions brought in the interactive track walk where they could follow the riders around. Why? I'd say most don't really care or know about what the riders are looking for but hey ho! Nigel and Janet get to feel important because they walked the track with the riders.

Of course they put bums on seats in comparison to non World Class riders... The more salient question is though... Do they put enough bums on seats to justify the outlay for them?... It has been mentioned on here, by some who appear "in the know" at their local tracks, that between 3500 and 5000 quid is the going rate for a World Class rider... Therefore, taking the lower number, that is 14,000 quid laid our for two World Class level riders, from your home meeting income, for the home and away meetings.. Now, I know sponsorship will cover a fair amount, however, I would suggest laying out around 8,000 quid for those two meetings for "decent" riders, and using 6,000 quid to actually promote the meeting, on a night that is maybe better to attract a crowd, would be the more sensible business plan to follow.. Ipswich fans have suggested that crowds have, in the main, held up this season without last years "Superstars".. Which, even if there was a drop off of a couple of hundred, must mean a fair net saving on outlay this season, given their current One and Five won't be in the same pay bracket .. Utopia is every team to have two World Class riders, reality though means they wouldn't cover their income by increasing gates enough to pay their salaries... My old company has made many managers redundant/retired over the past decade, with, on many occasions, those highest earners the ones who have taken the attractive redundancy/retirement terms on offer.. Are their replacements as good? Nowhere near, given the disparate level of experience and capability, however they are 30-40% cheaper and will gain experience and capability as they develop.. The bottom line though is you could have King Charles himself at No1 for any team, but if hardly anyone outside a select few know the sport itself, never mind the team, exists, then you won't be needing the " House Full" signs outside...

I’d never claim Brady to be one of our own in the same way as Dan but we should be looking for more riders to move from 7.50 to 9.50 and become GP challengers as despite popular opinion on here, they put bums on seats.

These two statements would not seem to be consistent. I have mixed feelings about Bomber getting through. I really don't think he is GP standard and I'd hate to see him propping up the field next year.

Belle Vue tried that last weekend. Sunday afternoon, lovely weather, £15 for over 30 races and any number of kids free. The riders were all a similar standard with no top stars as like you say people don’t know their Bewleys from their Shimelt’s. Less than 200 people were there when I looked around. On the last point we didn’t get top players over at great initial expense but rather signed the likes of Fricke, Brennan, Kurtz, Lidsey, Bewley, Blodorn & Cairns and watched them become the lads they are today. In Britain we don’t need to spend but we do need to foster development for those within our commonwealth.

£15 to see the same bunch of riders you will see in the same style of meetings you'll see at Iwade and IOW. Nah you're ok thanks. If I want to watch repeats I'll stick to BBC2

I think iainb set up most meeting threads on here.... And only probably did that, usually on the day, due to no one else from either team involved bothering... There has been a growing feeling of "what's the point?" I would say since Sky stopped showing Speedway, and their seven figure input also stopped.... With the ever increasing constant sharing around of riders, even with an ever reducing number of teams, suggesting even those running it don't take it too seriously, and, for them, just putting on a Speedway meeting, of any degree of relevance and credibility, is the only box to tick for them... Apathy is probably the feeling of many, either on here, or even those dwindling number of die hards who still attend tracks regularly... The two nights in Manchester for the GP's though must have delivered circa seven figures in income, therefore, there still must be hope for the sport in the UK if they can make it a credible offering...

We definitely need a win right now which will require a collective pulling together to achieve that objective. Getting turned over again at home is not acceptable so it is up to the team to give the fans something to shout about which generally hasn't been the case in the last two home meetings. For me the play off system stopped me attending , what's the point of going to a meeting knowing the result is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. You could support your team home and away all season winning every meeting, tream suffers injuries and subsequently loses the tittle
