Putting Paco's calamity celebration to the side, last night's meeting was a great example of what speedway should be like. Good track, passing, nip and tuck all meeting, riders pushing for the full 4 laps and a super heat to put the cherry on top. Well done to both teams.6 points

Cmon Poole fans even you have to see the funny side of that capitulation, and the complete ineptitude of your team manager, in the long run you have got the bonus point.but i think when it’s crunch time at the end of the season middlo will be asked/told he is doing all meetings home and away5 points

None of them did so while slowing down, showboating. We’ve turned wins at Glasgow and last night into draws largely because of his performance in ht14 where btw he should be dominant. His actions last night were hugely unprofessional and labelling him as a ‘knobhead’ is absolutely fair.4 points

I see Tom has been recalled to Poland - he just won heat 1 too! Hope he has a good meeting - was looking far better on Thursday!4 points

A great result for the Tigers, and a brilliant night of racing between two teams putting on a hard-fought meeting. Thanks to all 14 riders for their efforts, and an extra mention to Reid and Nick, vital performances from our guests - at last 😜Today's playlist in the car includes Lenny Kravitz "It ain't over til it's over". Cheers Paco... Decent chance we could meet again before the season is out via playoffs. Just need a way to stop pesky Poole.4 points

What a night, didn't really expect that, thanks Paco for gifting us the chance, he should realise that Kevin never gives up, do all the showboating after the race was won. Thanks to Nick Morris for an outstanding performance and to Reid Battye for his contribution having never seen the place before. I suspect we will be having to use guests until the end of the season unless we managed to get a signing before last night. Hope Dan is okay, we may end up doing it all again in the playoffs if we both finish 2nd and 3rd4 points

No he didnt. Jye needs to learn to shut off and not expect to be waved through by opposition riders.3 points
-
They really don't. He is remarkably controlled and safe for a sixteen year old, if a little exuberant. Sounds like he was correctly excluded this evening but the Etheridge incident last time was clearly Jye's own fault.3 points

I can't either but good that a ringer hasn't decided the meeting.3 points

Tatum disagreed !. Fantastic move by Zmarzlik even though Huckenbeck tried leaving the track and entering the car park mid race !3 points
-
Why do they keep going over the top with,"Zmarzlik had to work overtime for that"and "What a move from the world champion "etc.He hasn't had to work hard for his points at all imo.Fricke left a gap as well as Huchenbeck did.Annoys me sometimes how they go over the top with Zmarzlik.3 points

Going to be a tough watch this, Gates 2 & 3 are dead AF. LCQ's are irrelevant tonight as the winner will come from the Top 2 after 20 Heats due to them inevitably picking Gates 1 & 4 imo.3 points

One possible downside with just eight home meetings could be that the stadium owners think it is no longer worthwhile renting the stadium to a speedway club or would the owners impose rent increases to match the income they had before the reduction in meetings. One way might be for all top sides to run NDL teams fortnightly but I do not know the costs etc so it may not be viable. For sure, if stadium owners do not get a decent income then they might just think it is time to sell up and take the capital gain and invest in something else. I know it is unclear why Arlington has closed but when you think of the way that was filled on a regular basis and yet Spedeworth had the rug pulled says it all about the state of oval stadia in this country. Few are really 100% safe and because of that speedway is not in a good position. With the decline in the number of stadia owners willing to allow oval sports that makes it hard to attract decent investment and you could see a time where just a few tracks remain and either compete in a European league(if rules permit) or those that remain stage individual meetings and international meetings. Difficult one for all involved to resolve going forward.3 points

The funny thing is that speedway is a small world. Every one knows which riders sit in the back of their vans smoking rope, which ones take the Columbian marching powder, which ones who are generally “wrong un’s” and are to be avoided. it ain’t a goody goody clean sport, the promoters know too. if someone is willing to offer him a contract, more fool them.3 points

That might be the best and funniest thing I’ve ever saw in a speedway meeting.3 points

As did I and everyone around, and probably 99% of the crowd and we're not even team managers, very very odd 😉2 points

So how long can Poole keep using guests for Bowes? Using Kennett down at reserve is a massive bonus for Poole. Surely there must be a cut off date, where they will have to name a permeant rider at reserve.2 points

Someone needs to have a sit down with Rushen and explain he doesn’t have to win at all cost before he seriously hurts someone. I know he is young but there’s no excuse for that tonight. This is the second visit to Berwick when he has been genuinely dangerous.2 points
-
Sadly as per Poole will come right when it matters and track a really good team again next year. Well done Berwick great result! What a last 24 hours plus Nick Morris has had.2 points
-
It only got away through an inept manager. Heats ten and 14 were screaming for manager inputs. But it’s a big fail.2 points
-
Kennett should have had 7 rides tonight. Fantastic meeting, but one that got away. Middlo is now required away I think.2 points

great stuff - can't help thinking Poole threw that one away but i really enjoyed that!2 points

If I was a conspiracy theorist, I'd say he's keeping his Oxford average down so he can guest for Poole in September & potentially October!2 points

I cant listen to the pair of tools. Non stop relentless gibberish, I watched most of the meeting with sound off.2 points

Brady lost in with that last place from Gate 3.. Dreadful GP overall.... Do the organisers not have a clue about race track prep?... Regardless of the meeting on Friday, this track is always crap.. There must be at least one better circuit somewhere? If there isn't then time to give up...2 points

You've got to hand it to Tatum; he can polish a turd. Lebadevs was never going to pass Kurtz. The way the pair were shouting, you'd have thought it was a close run thing!!2 points

Nothing to do with rose tinted specs, Lawson has been very loyal to Poole, we have no problem with him. He has quite rightly according to the rules been given a ban which we accept. Whether the rules are fair when a rider has a valid reason for missing a meeting is open to debate.2 points

I think a League with UK Sweden and Denmark just could be an answer for the sport over here .. The "professional teams", could join and let the "hobby teams" ride in their own Championship... If only 3 teams currently want to ride in a top tier then they can join up with the 16 Scandinavian teams, giving 18 home matches, plus any play offs... And that would leave a 12 team Championship with non Poland contracted riders.. Using Denmark's system would mean just 15 riders needed over here.. It would create strong interest from the many who no longer attend regularly I would think, and also likely get TV coverage, and some decent sponsorship... Pay rates are not too different in either of the three leagues below Poland, so rider costs wouldn't be much different, with travel and accommodation being the only add on, however, many riders fly in and out now from country to country so even that wouldn't be too much of a big difference.. You would also get to see every top rider in the world over here, once, or twice if reaching the play offs.. A bona fide sporting league that has kudos, with different teams of only riders contracted to them, some you only get to see once, with regular meetings, ticks a lot of boxes that UK Speedway currently doesn't..2 points

I’ve just watched the race, what was castagna doing what a clown, if I was the manager and his team mates I’d be raging, never mind what the paying public on the monarchs side thought, unbelievable2 points

Question marks about not just Sheffield, add in Workington ( could go NDL, if there is one ) Oxford ( they needed financial assistance ) and rumours of some discontent at Redcar ( track staff ? and we know a good track man is as rare as a Poole home defeat ! ) Having seen dwindling attendances at Berwick, Workington and Redcar throughout this season it’s difficult times for the sport with patchy fixture lists, shortage of riders , no major tv coverage and no league sponsors , it all adds up to alarm bells and none of us have confidence in the current leadership of the sport that they have the capability or the will to turn things around. So ONE league called the PREMIERSHIP to keep Mr.Lemon happy 😆2 points

I can post anywhere I like I’m afraid How is my opinion of Lawson toxic?? Not a team player … not liked by riders …. Doesn’t take it seriously for us He may be totally different at Poole and that’s fine I don’t want a rider like him at my club simple as that …. What rider phones up that late in the day knowing he has had issues all day when he could have let the club know much earlier There are reasons Ipswich fans didnt want him back in the first place and reasons why Louis had him gone after one season previously If you think that’s toxic I think you might be part of a snowflake generation2 points
-
Lawson must go. 1. Turns up late, dirty bikes and ill prepared. 2. Never does the parade 3. Creates a bad atmosphere in the pits 4. Drives to Leicester, calls in sick half way, when asked by management to attend the track for a doctor’s note and to make IRR available, he refuses and drives home. The next day he rides in Denmark. 5. Calls in at 17:50 to tell the management he isn’t turning up, the riders and management at this point have had enough of him. This guy also got sacked by his Polish club this season. Goodbye and Good riddance.2 points

Cairns? I think you must mean the other one. Will Cairns is in full control of his bike as far as I've seen....1 point

Its hardly glug glug glug, we got the bonus point and the result is irrelevant in the quest for yet another title.1 point

Can't understand how Kennett is unbeaten from 4 rides & not given any extra races. That's worse than Peter Schroek, Sam Ermolenko or Cami Brown!1 point

This track is a disgrace for such a high level of racing... And it has been "improved"...!!!1 point
-
The track had a bit about it last night. There was enough dirt down to chase and the inside and outside lines were working meaning there was passing right to the last heat. When you get the correct ingredients for the right riders the product can be good. It is a choice though. Last night was superb but largely an outlier in many seasons of unspectacular meetings on a slick surface. Perhaps we could do it again in future when GLA visit if racing as good as this is the result.1 point

What a performance. Nick Morris was phenomenal. Big thanks to Paco. What a complete clown. Show boating twice going round the 3/4 bend then giving it big licks on his celebration lap. Well done KJP for not giving up.1 point

We dont even know if that is what he is like at Ipswich, he would say anything to have a go at Poole or one of our riders.1 point

For a good chunk of the mid 70’s he was my favourite rider. Great exponent of the cut back coming out of turns 2 or 4. Rip Arthur.1 point

As a fan I've been to Foxhall 4 times now in 2026 and i have only seen 2 sides - my next visit is Aug 20th when It's Leicester which means I will still have only seen 2 sides! Due to holidays etc its likely to be my last visit for 2026! in any other sport I would have expected to see 5 different sides.1 point

As Pollestad is there he would ride. If he leaves and then Lindgren says he can’t ride the 17 would come in. The 18 would move to 17 and a new 18 Latvian would be found.1 point
