Jesus Christ people you are watching speedway on ITV for free and they finally got a deal done and all you miserable buggers do is moan. Better turn your phones / laptops off and just watch the racing because your negativity is embarrassing somewhat. If you want to moan at speedway on ITV for the first time in 41 years go ahead, but don’t you dare moan about it not being on TV the next time around.17 points

I’ve shared the advert on my facebook urging people to tune in. But why haven’t the promoters of every club not been posing every day running up to the event asking fans to like and share with a CHANCE to go into a draw for free tickets. Lasts years final should have been reposted by all clubs and ask the fans to share and repost again. Costs nothing but another failed opportunity to really push the biggest chance to promote the biggest advert on terrestrial tv. these promoters are not fit for purpose. Couldn’t organise a car boot sale.9 points

How good is Emma Jones? Very professional, excellent at her job and comes across as a really down to earth nice person too.6 points

I thought it was a decent evenings entertainment. Clearly not the usual broadcast team from the TNT days, more a budget broadcast team, but that’s down to ITV who were never going to throw tons of money at a one off production. However, I think British Speedway can give itself a pat on the back and consider it a job well done, rider presentations were on point, background promotional material looked fresh, the racing got better as the meeting progressed. The interviews were a bit ‘bumpy’ in places, but I don’t think it detracted from the overall presentation. More importantly there wasn’t any cock up’s!5 points

To be positive for a change - I like the on screen graphics being used. Two minute clock, race time, time gaps, all things you’d think would be obvious to show, but I’ve rarely seen it before.5 points

Dare I say it... That first lap from Rushen was Kurtz and Bewleyesque.... A proper level of talent ..4 points

No complaints here, speedway on a Saturday night live on TV, Hopefully this is an opportunity that brings forth a new TV era and the powers that get on board and grab what is possibly on offer. It would be so good to see the sport live or recorded in 2027 on ITV 4. Fingers crossed.4 points

It all very much depends on there being a TV deal for the Premiership. If there is and it will put a significant level of money into each competing team, then I’d limit teams to having one rider over an 8 point average. I’d like to see a minimum of four British riders in every team. I’d like to see two rising stars per team, but this may not be possible. Rising stars should also be categorised and used in the Championship. If there is no TV deal then we’re probably at ground zero, with one league and six riders per team on a almost semi professional level, sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards. As things stand I would think only a couple of clubs in British Speedway are turning a small profit, clubs are relying on people coming through the gate, sponsors and benefactors who can stand to lose piles of money.4 points

Think a lot of Redcar fans being quite harsh on your team in terms of throwing it away. You have to remember Ashfield generally creates a better home advantage in the second half of the meeting, home advantage race lines become more apparent to the Glasgow team and tried and tested bike set ups used sooner. Think credit to both teams for great night of speedway and a brilliant travelling support both in number and in voice. Another week where speedway was the winner IMHO.4 points

100% agree, I can never get my head around clubs ignoring the obvious and not doing things to promote/improve the sport where the costs involved to them is either nothing or practically nothing. It does my head in.4 points

Totally agree, great to have racing live on a Saturday night. When did that last happen. Thanks ITV 4 and hopefully that can see the potential and perhaps look at the wider European scene.3 points

Well done Jason Edwards great ride - I am just trying to enjoy this - what we need is some frantic racing in the later Heats just like the old British finals had! it’s actually nice to be watching speedway on a Saturday night on mainstream UK tv!3 points

Oh I don't know that's really fair; most at least TRY harder. BV have had all the plum meets and never look to have given it a passing thought.3 points

Lambert must have thought he was in the Grand Prix there with that line up…3 points

Need to put Lambert off of 15 metres in each race to make it more of an event To be honest fair play to lambert for riding …. He has a chance to be world champion and is competing here when he doesn’t need to3 points

Speedway fans are weird. So we're at a point now where clubs can't sign rider's because others can't afford it?? Absolutely bonkers mentality. It's up to everyone else to be better, not lowering standards to suit the least well off. Even if the team averages were 25 or 55, in the main, if a club has the most expenditure available, they'll have the best team. It's the way in every single motorsport. It's very very simple, if you want a competitive league, bug all the other promoters to raise their standards3 points

Thought is got better as the heats went on. Shocking crowd though, well empty. Management should have done something about that. Give tickets away if you have to. Lambert in another postcode. Always going to win it and did. Well done to Charles Wright after a tough season. The tears were very raw and real. Special mention to Coops who smashed it for a 16 year old. Mistake in the final choosing white. Red would probably have got him a podium place. Huge for the sport having him and Cairns (Kerns as Kelvin kept calling him) coming through. Great it was on ITV. The whole country could have watched that.2 points

Some of these youngsters seem to sit on the bike really awkwardly compared to the older riders, just looks strange tho doesn't seem to slow them down much. Rushen is superb and a breath of fresh air. Overall a decent meeting2 points

Nobody said anything racist. You are desperately trying to find something to be offended about, that is all.2 points

I must be watching something different, I think that the presentation is pretty good with some clever camera work on the racing and keeping away from shots of empty seats in the grandstand.2 points

Cooper Rushen comes across as a great competitor and good luck to the lad. We need more like him and if the UK can generate this sort of rider, the future does look bright. Great to see lads like this having the confidence to mix it with some of the best in KK speedway.2 points

There are no stands.... And to put them there costs effing shed loads... And won't get filled anyway. Basically, no need for them... At the NSS, standing just before bend 3 is the spot... Amazing speed, amazing cutting across each other at those amazing speeds...2 points

Good meeting for Lawson. No comment from Gavan when he has a good meeting although his nurses may not have given him his daily dose of happy pills. There have been cutbacks in nursing so he is probably pacing around his padded cell mumbling Shovlar Shovlar!2 points

Initially, no Doyle, no Sayfutdinov, no Holder for a large part of the season, no Bewley also for a large part of the season, and Fricke leaving a track he was well dialled in at, and taking up a new circuit.. Several absolute top level riders that are not this season taking points of other HL's and second strings like they did last season... The Aces have this season, with less top level talent in the league, seen Zischze, Blodorn and Cook, riders they have invested in, win many more heats than last season, and when allied to unrivalled strength in Ht 13 and Ht15, it has meant the Aces scoring big in several meetings.. The bottom line is though, all teams started closely together according to the team averages, but, as every season shows, very quickly the teams from top to bottom become a long way apart... This season is no different...2 points
