  1. Totally agree Gavan. Nothing yet from Shovvy he may be asking his mate SCB for advice regarding photographs!

  2. The death of British speedway? You're talking about a track that has the biggest attendances in the country and do more to promote the sport in the local area than any other! You and I might not like the racing, but the Poole fans clearly do. Why would Poole change that to appease a Glasgow fan?

  3. Yeah, but they say that includes being on the white line, which no one disputed. Just that some of us thought you could have rear wheel on the white line and not be excluded. Only both fully over. Now the rule has been cleared up, that's fair enough. No argument from me. Definitely got away with two decisions!

  4. Yes I agree but I would like at least 2 riders tested at every meeting, randemly of course

  5. Nice touch by the Comets management with a message on the electronic sign at the Ramsey brow junction at the end of the A66. Saying thank you to the fans and sponsors supporting the comets in 2026 đŸ˜„đŸđŸ””âšȘ

  6. I suspect the number one could end up as Lambert or Zmarzlik with Woryna as second heater leading depending on point limit

  7. Kurtz and Doyle, a different level.. A shame to be honest as the second leg is probably a shoe in... Great to watch top class riders do what only they can do...

  8. This aged well 👀 Sheffield couldn’t even ride their own track tonight. This is game over, watching that seemed a mismatch. Belle Vue by far the strongest team in the league and by some way.

  9. Over the last few meetings Jason Doyle has rolled an extra lap 😂

  10. Nice to hear you say that. Still so many Pirates on here and on social media either burying their heads in the sand or going on the offensive and either disagreeing with the SCB decision (!) or rubbing it in that Scunthorpe won’t get the trophy.

  12. The SCB deemed that his wheels ‘breached the inner edge’ meaning he should have been excluded. Bang to rights.

  13. I would say the most important thing is to gain teams, so if that means a weaker league, so be it. Ideally equal strength teams, the more times newcomers end up bottom, the less likely someone will step up.

  14. To all the Poole fans who said he didn’t cross the lineâ€ŠđŸ€« Scunthorpe are the real 2026 champions. 🩂

  15. Can't say I really care either way which team wins, and from the footage there was, I was unconvinced anyone had shown beyond any reasonable doubt Zach had fully crossed the line, but to accept he had and then say "never mind, the result's wrong but we won't change it", especially when it's the final, is abysmal. British speedway is such an embarrassingly amateur sport.

  16. I think that is a reasonable demand that should be mandatory for his first season ( should he return to the sport ) I make no excuses for his crime but repeat if he can be gainfully employed he is not a burden on the state .

  18. The 1st Division teams appear to by invitation. The 2nd Division teams qualified based on their league position the previous year. The top 8 2nd Division teams qualified except in these years: 1976 when league winners Birmingham moved up to the 1st Division so teams finishing 2nd to 9th in 1975 were included. 1977 when the competition was extended and the top 10 2nd Division sides from 1976 were included. 1979 when Eastbourne, who had finished 4th in the 2nd Division, moved up to the 1st Division and the 1978 9th team was included (Glasgow). I don't know if 'prestigious' is the right word but it did give 2nd Division tracks the opportunity to race against 1st Division sides in a competitive environment. Unfortunately very few made it past the first round - Boston defeated Hackney in 1975 before losing at Belle Vue in the nezt round. The only other 2nd Division side to win a match were Workington who defeated Ipswich and King's Lynn before losing at Hull in the semi-final in 1976.

  20. The Ekstraliga have announced details of a 3 year agreement between Poland, Sweden, Denmark and Great Britain. Highlights are: A rider with a contract in Poland will be able to participate simultaneously in a maximum of two of the other three national leagues covered by the agreement. Great Britain – league matches are scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays, Sweden – on Tuesdays, Denmark – on Wednesdays, and Poland (PGEE / M2E) – on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The rules regarding youth riders will also change in the top leagues in Sweden, Denmark, and Great Britain. The team must include at least one domestic U21 rider, and the second can be a domestic or foreign rider. Additionally, the British federation ACU will give its riders permission to compete abroad only if they are also competing in the British league. This means that, e.g., Robert Lambert or Daniel Bewley, competing under a British license, will need to have a contract in Great Britain to compete in Poland and other foreign leagues.

  21. Alternatively if you wanted a strong reserve all season you could tempt both Thompson twins in and go for: 1 Chris Harris © 7.93 2 Victor Palovaara 5.64 3 Joe Thompson 5.92 4 Mitchell McDiarmid 5.53 5 Dan Thompson 7.55 6 Jordan Jenkins 5.05 7 2.38 Would mean having an unproven 2.00er at reserve, but you'd have Jordan Jenkins or Joe Thompson at reserve all year too, you saw how successful Berwick were at times this year with a powerful reserve. I'm sure someone like Charlie Southwick or Ollie Binns or Harry Fletcher would pick up the odd point here or there. Just an alternative, and I do like teams with a strong reserve.

  22. From the Ekstraliga site . Great Britain – dates of league matches on Mondays and Thursdays, Sweden – on Tuesdays, Denmark – on Wednesdays, and Poland (PGEE / M2E) – on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Speedway attendances always strugged at Arlington when not on a Sat evening. From the Ekstraliga website it statea GB dates Mon + Thurs. Not sure that would guarantee the best of attendances at Eastbourne. The crowd generally was not a local one, many travelled a fair distance.

  30. So it’s now fact that he crossed the line so the Poole clowns who said he didn’t can shut the hell up Disastrous for British speedway total incompetence in both legs This league title will have an asterisk next to it

  32. The meeting wasn't rerun. 12th April 1985 National League fixture, Joe Owen and Dave Morton were found to have used illegal tyres. Berwick's protest was upheld, both riders had their points deducted, following riders were promoted and the final score was amended from 50-28 to 34-41. Edited to add the appeal wasn't sorted out until mid-October!

  37. The ref from the first leg who missed the tyre warming should be disciplined, the Poole leg is not so clear cut, riders leaving the track is normally black and white and is followed by an exclusion light, saw it happen all the time in the late 80s before Arena had a safety fence installed. Thing is if Cook had sat behind Pickering it still would have been a Poole win, its not like the pass enabled the win. I think its one of those things that a decision has to be made in real time and thus conclusive, once a heat is completed other than a tie for position on the line, the race should be called. Anything that comes to light afterwards should result in the ref being disciplined and banned for a period of time and certainly losing the right to ref any higher prestige meetings, they are paid to do the job, hit them in the pocket.

  38. The risk would be one of the reserves getting injured in heat 2 and the other reserve then having six rides to cover plus their own three - cant be done. Safety first approach is to go with a guest which is entirely sensible.

  39. I know efforts are still on going to get Coventry & Peterborough back but they are still a few years away at best & Cradley further away than that if it ever happens. Currenty it looks like Wolves & Birmingham are finished with no hope of return. Spedeworth with deane wood have several venues Eastbourne included so maybe the future expansion of the sport will come though a partnership between uk speedway & spedeworth. Ipswich & Northampton certainly seems to work well with Deane so who knows.

  40. dont know where the 8th will come from now sadly, eastbourne is pretty much a cert for me so at least we will have 7, not ideal but better than 6 teams

  41. The amount of Garrity apologists on here is quite alarming. Some quite clearly lack any moral compass. Amazing how this forum outs so many scumbags and even more worryingly, nonces over the last few years. The Speedway “family” isn’t quite as squeaky clean as the image sometimes portrays obviously.

  42. Brady Landon (who has been mentioned on this thread more than once) has had a bad crash back home in the US at Costa Mesa. Has a number of fractured vertebrae, some fractured ribs and a damaged lung. His parents have said that he will make a full recovery and is in good spirits. Get well soon young man.

  43. If Poole want to prepare their track slick, that’s up to them, same with Oxford and Northampton to name three, the racing might not be up to much but it’s not dangerous track because it’s slick. It just means the racing tends to not be very good if your a neutral, but as fans we have a choice to buy these streams or not, I decided after after break to give the British promoters another chance and buy the BSN package for both leagues this season, more fool me, I won’t be doing it again. 15 clubs in all and only four maybe five tracks I feel confident will produce a decent level of entertainment,

  45. Haha back inside again? Recalled to prison 3 times since his release and people want to give him a second chance? He will spend the rest of his days in and out of prison. Scum like him need keeping away from the sport. That nonsense about him taking the blame for someone else is just people being deluded.

  46. I think he was and he's been doing regular laps around Lynn for several years, and has talked about his good relationship with the promotion and his love of the track. All that said he's a free agent on October 31st like everyone else and could sign for whoever he wants for 2027. You would like to think Buster would move heaven and earth to keep him though.
