  1. Yep fair point about the number of rides, Brennan though was one of the few BV riders who turned up and got stuck in at P'boro, he really started to look the part towards the end of the season.
  2. If you mean the final Brennan scored 15+1 across the two legs and Pailin 9+3. They were both better in their away legs. I think its a big year for them both, they should be looking to put a point or two on in each league.
  3. Agree about the blocked entry/exit for the back straight car park, me and lots of other cars drove to that gate with no indication it was no longer in use which meant everyone using the same entrance and then cars and pedestrians both using the same path between the two car parks which is hardly the safest situation. I left before the final race but can imagine it was carnage trying to get out. I thought the guy on the mic was OK later on but he had a very dodgy/nervous start. Another of things about Lynn speedway need polishing and sorting from a customer servce/experience point of view, that's been the case for a few years unfortunately.
  4. Or it might be that it's £20 to get in Or because the team hasn't been very good Or that the racing hasn't been that great (didn't go last year so can only go by what I read) I expect he grades as much as he does because he believes its necessary and not to annoy people. The best idea for anybody who wants an explanation or is annoyed is to ask, that's the beauty of speedway and riders and official being accessible.
  5. Yeah I think you're right, it's nothing to do with racing surfaces etc he just likes burning diesel by going round and round in circles
  6. My take is that the shale used at Lynn is of course heavier and more clay based than elsewhere due to the stocks and if it wasn't graded you'd just have one mega fast line out wide. It's not ideal but it is what it is and if they get on with the in between races like they did last night it's not a massive issue. 3 hours or so for 27 heats isn't too bad although it turning chilly doesn't help people's mood I admit!
  7. Yep I remember a powerhouse top five, Cook Masters and Riss the other members?
  8. Yep I remember a powerhouse top five, Cook Masters and Riss the other members?
  9. I thought Sneddon was past his best by then and retired soon after? I remember Fox being ordinary but perhaps my memory does him a disservice.
  10. It turned a bit chilly as it got dark but I was surprised how mild it was, the AFA can be baltic but there wasn't much wind, my toddler and I took various clothes and layers we didn't need. As DS has said I don't think people should go to a testimonial expecting great racing or a quick meeting and bearing that in mind I quite enjoyed it, I certainly didn't hear any moaning but you will always get unsatisfied customers however good something is.
  11. Didn't they do it the year before too with Sneddon and Fox?
  12. Hope Ritchie Worrall and Jack Thomas are ok. Jake Mulford certainly appears to have something about him, hopefully he can get some regular speedway somewhere to continue his development. I didn't think the racing was too bad, I'm guessing the bored comment refers to the meeting taking over three hours but that was always going to be the case with 25+ races. We had grading and some watering after every 5 heats, not excessive for me.
  13. Especially since covid and some people's attitude to handling cash changing. Not a good reflection on speedway that their are tracks without card / contactless payment options.
  14. Yep, up to 45 minute delays at times. Don't bother with avoiding it by going through Wisbech though as we did that on Monday and it was no better with roadworks in various places.
  15. Yep I appreciate what you are saying too. I have read before from other riders that organising Testimonials and suchlike is extremely stressful especially on the day when they are desperate for things to go smoothly, so you can completely understand why some might not want the extra hassle of riding even if it would be a good chance to sharpen their race fitness. The forecast looks good for Sunday so here's hoping for a great meeting, looking forward to it.
  16. Because he doesn't want to? Would rather run and promote the meeting perhaps. Enjoy the occasion with his family. Would be my guess.
  17. Surely this is nothing unexpected, plus if I've read it right it will be four years before anything happens and assuming this guy is honest they want to find the speedway a new home.
  18. I can completely understand why they've gone with R/R but personally I feel short changed by seeing one (or even worse two!) fewer riders than the full fourteen, and this is likely to be all season. There is no ideal solution unfortunately.
  19. Pretty sure Lemon means thay Etheridge is capable of starting 2022 in the main body having finished 2021 at reserve.
  20. Couple of months later, revised predictions..... Glasgow Leicester Poole Redcar Oxford Edinburgh Birmingham Berwick Plymouth Scunthorpe Newcastle Just a bit of fun folks, nobody get their knickers twisted
  21. If done properly this sounds like a pretty good idea to me.
  22. So what's this 'blue card' scheme all about? They obviously want folk to have one of these or buy online and are trying to steer paying customers towards them. Presumably its possible to sit in the car park at 7pm and buy an online ticket on your phone for the cheapest price?
