Speedway World Cup 2017
Bagpuss replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Australia have an embarrassment of riches, they could probably enter two teams at Lynn and finish first & second. You'd imagine they will go Doyle, Holder, Batch and Masters but at least three of the others can stake a strong claim. -
Barker is one of the names I'd thought of, along with Wolbert.
-
Very little around who would have fitted and not a name I had thought of but he has started the season quite well and knows the tracks lets see how he goes.
-
You would imagine clubs are a bit reluctant because his Polish team could click their fingers at any time and he would have to go running, and that could mean no more UK.

Newcastle V Glasgow Championship 18 June 2017
Bagpuss replied to jackofdiamonds's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Away wins are never easy no matter the opposition, the way I see it three points is a great result and the fourth point is an absolute bonus. Little wonder Glasgow couldn't get that extra point with Robert piling up a six ride max. -
There are so many team spots, inevitable that some riders will be left by the wayside. Feel for Jacobs though as a Brit. Agree about Shanes, needs giving an average as anybody who uses him as a guest at seven starts with a big advantage. The Vatcher thing is very childish though.

What Makes A Good Speedway Track?
Bagpuss replied to steve roberts's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
What makes a good track? Not the dirt that King's Lynn use that's for sure. In terms of size I personally don't think you can beat a full throttle track like Belle Vue, P'boro or Scunny. A good race on a fast track will always trump one in a tight circuit because you get more speed. Most important though is the width of the entry into the bends and the preparation. -
We are arguably stronger with R/R, Huckenbeck will probably have seven rides on Wednesday and if he's on song we will win.
-
Agree it's a big meeting on Wednesday, we need Lambert and Rose back to their best.
-
All very well to label riders 'throttle jockeys' but tricky tracks are best ridden in an attacking fashion are they not? Also if the three most experienced and accomplished riders all ended up on the deck then those with far less laps round the block will inevitably struggle to stay upright.
-
No away win should be sniffed at, and we have now taken seven points from the OTA while Poole only took one and Rye & Belle Vue none.
-
People knew the team for Wednesday before they travelled, I nearly stayed at home but decided to go as I was texting updates and wanted to see the top team in action. As for nearly being the top team, once you have finished fourth all that matters then is being strong in September for the Play Offs.
-
But the averages haven't changed for anybody yet, and I don't think we will be making any alterations until they do. And we are second. I think also there is a fine balance between changing a rider early on because they aren't performing and giving them time to get going. I'm sure having put the team together the promotion wanted to show a bit of faith. In addition some of the potential replacements have been laughable while others have ranted without even suggesting anybody. Changes for changes sake does nobody any good. The one thing I do agree on us the lack of information about meetings, only putting previews on the website the day before is pretty poor, should be first thing Monday morning.

Genius fixture planning once again.
-
Which is fine but when people whinge about wanting him out every time we lose its a bit daft, especially considering our league position. I'm all for passionate support but not headless chicken posting.
-
Some very over the top stuff on here as expected really. Sometimes it helps to take a step back and look at things as a whole, yes Wednesday was dire but if we'd had our reserves and Lambert & Rose had scored around what they normally do it would have been a different meeting. Wolves are the best team around and we got punished. Last night was the fifth league win on the trot, we are second and changes are imminent. Calling for Dale's head or threatening to stop attending taking all that into account is a little extreme and pretty daft. Helps to take a deep breath and chill a bit before posting, things come out a lot more balanced.

Leicester Lions V Belle Vue Aces 17 Jun 2017
Bagpuss replied to Robbobee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Apparently Morris and Grajzconek are guesting. Each season we think unavailability of riders can't get any worse and each season British speedway proves us wrong. -
Or not. Both have flourished in environments far more suited to them, I feel we had 'been there done that' with them both.

14/6/17 Rye House V Belle Vue
Bagpuss replied to cityrebel's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Absolute bonkers. Not just speedway in this country which is run by muppets. -
Kings Lynn V Wolves Koc 14th June
Bagpuss replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This first leg will be tight, wouldn't bet against a draw but Wolves will run away with proceedings in the second leg. -
I can't imagine Tungate + Newman would fit.
