If Puk isn't obliged to ride in Denmark then fair enough. Wouldn't expect him to drop his home league in favour of the UK though.
-
We have just over three points left and Lambert averages just over five so ain't going to happen. Looking at what else is around we may as well go with Josh.
-
But harsh as he has to ride in Denmark and the other two big leagues pay more and only run once a week. A complete no brainer for him really. Sounds like he would have done all four but for those lovely Poles.

Does British Speedway Have Future?
Bagpuss replied to Pieman72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I blame the yanks. -
I think you've named the top four there unless Leicester or Belle Vue declare something remarkable when they name their sides.
-
Perhaps the number seven delay is to allow Josh to prove his fitness. Would have him over Davey every day if the week and probably anyone else seeing as the young Brum lads will be tied up on Wednesdays. Perhaps Williamson if he fits.
-
I stand on the first bend at Lynn and often look in the pits between races and have never seen him 'canoodling'. I'm not a fan of hangers on but perhaps her presence is beneficial to him on race night, if it wasn't I can't imagine she would still be attending. Yep, potential question marks over most of your riders. Will Kurtz pull his finger out away from home, is Andersen past his best, what if Klindt doesn't gate, can KK be arsed, how will Holder cope with the step up etc etc.
-
Lambert on a skiing holiday. I'd be concentrating on your own team's potential shortcomings rather than concerning yourself about how distracted Robert may or may not be. He'll carry on developing nicely in an environment he's happy in. Merry Christmas.

Auto correct strikes again

I can't see how any Australian can fit with under four points to play with. Kozza's last average was over six was it not? New assessed Aussies come in on five and as far as I'm aware no foreigner can come back on less than four however low their average was from the previous year.
-
Wow. Maturity levels reaching a new low tonight. No number seven being named tonight as options being considered.....would rather have seen a little faith shown in Josh Bailey but trust the club to make the right choice. Very pleased with the six named so far.
-
Other riders may cut out their own leagues if they were run across four nights of the week.

The comparisons with football are laughable, it's a multi billion pound industry which millions of people around the world follow. There is an enormous thirst for titbits of transfer gossip and information. Hard to see who would be interested in the Holder story apart from a few thousand people and the majority of those are Lynn fans so it's a real shame that the journalist couldn't let the club announce it themselves. You used to be quite a good poster on here once, what happened? You seem to be getting dragged down to the playground level of starman, gater etc.

Championship Teams Comparison Time
Bagpuss replied to balderdash&piffle's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Don't think Newcastle will make top four, tail looks too long on paper. Would love them to with the Lynn connections mind. -
Me too but they need to be consistent. Should only be awarded to those who do ten consecutive years with one team.
-
A LOT of new riders would need to be found for amalgamation. Look at how many riders will be doubling up next season.
-
Indeed. Don't see the fuss when he is an average foreigner, we are going with a gradually improving club graduate instead. And one who probably exceeded expectations last year. Precisely. While not being the end of the world the fact that so many Poole posters can see nothing wrong with it at all speaks volumes unfortunately. If it was the EDP announcing Puk the night before Lord Ford was due to do so for example their tune world be very different. The whole thing represents a lack of class IMO.
-
Cradley are obsessed with three big hitting heatleaders. Interesting to see if they can back them up this year.
-
While I agree that Lord Ford deserves an almighty comeuppance one day on this occasion I don't think he is to blame, no doubt the journalist has been sitting on the information for days if not weeks. In the papers defence tomorrow wouldn't be ideal with AFC Bournemouth playing (you know what the EDP is like when Norwich are in action) but not sure why it couldn't wait til next week. Everybody who cares had a good idea it was going to happen anyway so it would have been good etiquette for what is a minority sport for the signing club to 'break' the news officially. Anyway it is what it is and I'm really pleased with the team whoever is at number seven.
-
Rose and Lambert were pretty obvious signings, club assets and rode last year. That said I'm sure Porsing will get a clip round the lughole for his faux pas. Holder however is the marquee signing and new number one. Wouldn't be so bad if they had run the story at the start of the week but to do it the day before the official announcement is pretty poor. Probably ties in with AFC Bournemouth coverage but it's a massive two fingers up to a speedway promotion and confirms that many journalists are up there with many taxi drivers as the biggest plonkers we have to put up with in life (IMO of course).

Really, really poor taste for the Echo to blurt it out the day before a supporters meeting. So just the number seven to be revealed then, hope its young Josh as there's nothing quite like seeing homegrown talent graduate to the first team. Also don't understand the calls for Hansen to be in the team, was pretty ordinary for Coventry last time he rode EL and Rose deserves his spot for his efforts last year. EDIT Has the Holder story been pulled? The link to the Echo story earlier in the thread draws a blank when clicked.....
-
Not sure riding Armadale and Monmore every week is going to help to that end really. Comes across as a rider who has never had a big home track and could really do with one, although you can understand him remaining with the two clubs with whom he is happy and settled.
-
Sheffield always had a bit more home advantage when the track was a bit deeper, with better racing and more home wins surely a grippier track is a no brainer.
-
That will exceed the limit.
