BIRMINGHAM STATEMENT 8TH AUG
IronScorpion replied to Speedway fan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
More kids means more paying adults in derby meetings & well supported away clubs to hopefully generate a bit of profit to offset losses before bailing at end of year. Feel sorry for Edinburgh & Poole fans with cancelled meetings this last week but just enjoy the trip as speedway is only for a few hours. -
Yet this year, two Scottish clubs were given grants & the British clubs had to apply for loans (to be repaid)
-
Polish Speedway have money thrown at them left, right & centre. British speedway is losing money with 2 teams not turning up this year & a possibility others to fold this year.
-
Where were covers used this weekend? Genuine question.

Glasgow v Scunthorpe Friday 6th

That is not good news as the "conspiracy theorist" (Skidder1) will be on here soon saying it is because of the GP in Lublin. -

Only League points count towards averages. Play offs & Cup matches do not count. -

He might have started out about 18 years ago but he had quite a few years off so has only ridden for about 12. Constantly going on about poor machinery or maintenance will not do anything for a rider in his later years of speedway as he is not going to go out & spend a thousand or more on decent kit. From what I remember though, he did score relatively well when loaned 1 of Masters engines back in 2019. -

r and r. is it possible to a link for Danish averages as it says on Poole website( & mentioned on their thread) Basso has a higher average this year then Jakobsen & Kildemand. After checking updates, Basso scores regularly about 5 bar 1 score of 14, I think, yet FJ & PK score double figures. Have I missed something? -

I wish "numpty's" , like yourself, travelled to away matches themselves to see for themselves that it was not an unfounded theory & that promoters do not just think about themselves but riders, mechanics, referees, sponsors, track staff, medics & everyone else in putting on a meeting for us fans. All you had to do was check the news & weather to know there was a band of bad weather coming from the South West to the North East throughout the day & even Redcar have cancelled early as well. But by all means, you could have travelled up North to as far as Edinburgh or Glasgow to watch live speedway if you did not want a wasted journey. Will your conspiracy theory then spread onto the meetings at Eastbourne, Leicester & Berwick tomorrow night, if cancelled, because it will clash with SGP Round 4 on BT Sport. -

Forget about Josh as riders cannot guest if not in a League team declared 1-7 -

After reading a couple of stories in this weeks SS, back pages BWD sorting out visa issues but front pages(probably more recent news) due to visa issues said rider cannot be sorted so looked at UK based rider & waiting for details to be finalised.

Is that how high he is? Wow. Is it only promoters, managers or club personnel privy to Rising Star averages as they are nowhere to be found on Speedwaygb or SGB websites.

Even though it was sad & painful for some, I think it was for the right reasons. If he didn't get his head around the set up issue before, whose to say he would on his return. His injury to his neck might be more serious than we all know so his confidence will have really taken a blow. -
Yes. Leon & Dan T are going to be very busy under the Rising Star scheme having 5+ & 6+ averages respectively guesting as a RS & not under their true average.
