On rain radar, it is showing a bit of natural watering within the hour but blowing eastwards to clear quickly. -
Scunthorpe v Redcar - 13.08.21

Anne, in the left hand(online) turnstile, started taking cash as her queue had vanished at about 7.10-7.15. Meetings have been delayed in the past due to queues so maybe the referee & Rob were not told. -

I said to people around me after Jake won heat 12 & fearing the worst with the riders Redcar would have had for heats 13-15, win, lose or draw I have been thoroughly entertained. -

Note, also, that I heard people in the paying(large) queue that they were not prepared to pay £1.50 handling fee online. Even a friend showed me on his phone that he paid £1.70 handling fee for his ticket. seatedly now over charging above agreed rate now we are out of restrictions! -

Brought his A engine as well. He rode some great lines, also, not just to pass but also to defend. Only 3 more league meetings to go so hope you will not be a "Jonah" to us & spoil our home league record although Leicester & Poole will be no easy meetings. Well done, also, to Palin who had some good speed but, also, learning a bit more track craft to help his team mates. -

Tero scoring double figures in his last few home meetings means it could be difficult to cover. Looking at averages, there was only maybe Barker or Kerr that could cover. TJ, Pijper, Lambo, & reserves could score well but this is 1 meeting when we need Ellis to bring his "A" game. Redcar will have Jake, Sarg, Rowe & Jenkins taking Stewart's rides. We know what Jake can do, Tofty has just started hitting a bit of form, depends which Wright turns up as he seems to be doing an Auty & struggling for form, Rowe can be quick but is he still struggling with his knee & with Sarg & Jenkins on unknown form. -
I used to do cycle speedway back in my youth but do not think tracks were that big but shape about right. I'd have been kna....ed doing 1 lap never mind 4.
-
Yet you had a blank piece of paper to design & build a decent track which would support decent, entertaining racing, yet you have had to change the track shape how many times? The stadium infrastructure & facilities are pretty good from day 1 though. At least you got something right.

& neither is thread, sorry, tread.

whoosh! Humour not in your vocabulary?

Aren't we going a bit off topic here because I thought this was about merchandise, or the last 10 pages or more.

Beaumont Park project was started on land on a fairly steep slope to incorporate multi events. Speedway was the first one started & is at the top. Turn 2 is the banking & pit entrance/exit. At Redcar, again, there is a hill but on turn 4. Again, this is banking & the pit entrance/exit. You build on the lie of the land whatever is given to you.

Friday & Saturday meetings were called off so should be ok unless mixed with others pre meeting. -
Poole vs Edinburgh 4/8/21
IronScorpion replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If they knew it was probably unrealistic expectations of his machinery why did they not help him out a bit more. He proved he could score more with one of Sam's engines a few years back. For the benefit of Edinburgh. Just saying. -

A very strange post with NO logic behind it as an away no1 does not ride in heats 6 & 9 & if he scored like you say, he would not get a TS ride or heat 15(Stead is not that poor a manager) -

I know people say win your home games first but we would struggle to win anything else away. At Glasgow - never know, lightening might strike twice but doubtful Plymouth - small track probably not suit riders Poole - doubtful Redcar - possible point but depends on their team changes Kent - another tight(ish) track plus their addition of Batchelor, doubtful Auty only scored 22 points from 16 rides at home with his struggles. -
Very sad news, indeed,, with sincere condolences going to family & friends who knew him but I am not one who got the pleasure of his company but realise the enormous impact he had on the speedway community through fans, riders, mechanics & all involved in speedway through the Speedway Star.
