I had trouble changing over .Iwas getting confused when pressing forgot my password and it came up RESET Password I was putting in my New PASSWORD when it ACTUALLY wants your  EMail address then it sends you an Email to Reset your Account which I did and it was all done.

I have since been advised the problem lies with the new set up not liking hotmail addresses, hopefully being sorted their end.

There was a post on Facebook a couple of days ago explaining that logging in to BSN through the web browser on a smart tv no longer works and you have to use a laptop, tablet, iPhone or stick to log in.
For some, that will be a complication too far, especially as many clubs’ streams can still be accessed through the web browser.

Just about to do the sign up but after reading some of the comments it sounds horrendous! Now I'm no spring chicken but can still strut my stuff!!.....couple of questions.

1, I usually log into my account on a SMART tv, yes it can be painful but it worked for me....... is that no longer the procedure?..

2, is there a problem with certain email providers, hotmail, gmail etc?

Many thanks in advance,

Normally in IT project rollouts you keep the existing system in place before switching over to a new system, not turn the old one off and offer a "Heath Robinson" solution to users until the new system is ready 🤷‍♂️

Odd, seems more complicated to me to have to use a browser. What do/did you have to do, type the URL using the remote control and an on-screen keyboard? Painful.

No, you initially did a Google search for BSN and then added it as a bookmark for easy access in the future... beautifully simple 👍

Currently I have no idea whether\how the first stream is going to work... or even if it will work, faffing about with laptops and HDMI cables is no great is it. Fortunately I'll be at the first streamed meeting live so I'll be able to watch it back at my leisure... but I can see a lot of folk having a lot of problems come Easter Monday!

No laptop or cable needed, just use the phone/tablet app and wirelessly cast it. Doesn’t get much simpler imo.

(This isn’t a “new system” either, I’ve been doing it this way for the last couple of years on BSN.)

And if you don't have a streaming phone or laptop? As I'm sure many older users probably won't.

It may not be new to you... but it will be for many users, myself included, as BSN have said themselves that if you used to watch on a browser that may not now work, hopefully it will. They should really keep the existing system in place until the new one is ready or they could be asking for trouble at 7pm on Monday night.

The “new one” is ready as it’s been working for years! And to suggest “many people” don’t own a smartphone, especially people who are likely to purchase an online streaming service like BSN?!?

The "new one" according to their press releases is going to be app based for specific smart tv brands.

"A major update for BSN subscribers will be the availability of TV Apps for most major TV brands"

"As BSN will be optimised for TV Apps, there will be some compromise to compatibility with Smart TV browsers which are not built to handle our newer technology. Subscribers who have watched this way previously are likely to find that BSN no longer works with their TV’s web browser"

Well... that can very much depend on what brand of TV you're using, some will require apps to be installed on the tv and/or phone from the companies own app store to enable sharing, not all TV's will allow screen sharing/streaming "out of the box". If it's an android based or main stream TV you should be okay... if it's one of the Chinese brands that's where things could start to get tricky.

You should be okay using screen mirroring (Smart View) from your phone then I would have thought assuming your phone is also a mainstream phone
