a draw stupid heat

Recommended Posts

Either get rid of it for single meetings and have it for aggregate points or give the winning team 3 points.

There should be the same amount of points available in every match.

The extra point could determine who qualifies for the semi finals.

Presumably the riders get paid at their normal points rate for riding in this heat sonas a ball park it cost an extra £1k last night. Worth it?

The riders don't get paid for superheats in general

Personally I'd have kept the 3-2-1-0-1-2-3-4 scoring system which awarded the away team two points for a draw anyway.

One of the best ideas British Speedway has come up with in recent years and they scrapped it!

Think they did away with that so new fans wouldn't get confused only to replace it with new fans being confused with an extra race with a different scoring system.

Its really no more complicated than a penalty shootout, and football fans seem to cope with that...

If you are going to have a deciding heat to determine a win, then one nominated rider from each side, one wins, one loses would suffice, the stupid 4-3-2-1 points fiasco where one side can win the meeting by finishing 2nd/3rd is a daft idea, even if you put 4 riders out on track, then the winning side should be the side whose rider wins the decider .

Agree it should be a 2 man run off.But that’s Speedway, nothing is simple.

A match race would be fair enough, yes.
