Big????????????

its MAHOOOOOOOOSIVE

Last time I went to Poole my lad and I who’s now a rider himself went to watch Poole against Belle Vue and magic was in the Poole team and track wasn’t great, seen plenty of times on tv since but it is really a shocking sight, still bumpy as hell in turn one and so slick it is embarrassing, watching it must be hard

24/7 track access and full time track staff helps massively towards that.

Not sure who the full time track staff are Id love to meet them! Not sure why your laughing at Tyretrax reply saying track staff have full time jobs! Oh ye Im 1 of the guys who works full time during the day then volunteers to work couple evenings a week!! There's 4 of us who spend a lot of our own time working there to give good racing! Only truth there is yes we can access 24/7!

Oh come on, track is dire, spoonful of dirt of which gets scraped down to the inside line on every grade. Armadale might be small but you can see your track guys put the effort in to getting a 'racing' surface, Poole is purely prepped for a home win IMHO.

It is definitely way more slicker when Glasgow come down! Either that, or not too much dirt to catch Will out whilst he is settling in.

Cairns has no issue with riding in the dirt, simple sacrifice entertainment for trophies, each to their own i suppose.

As Hume said the track was totally different when Berwick were down. With three days of 28-30c heat, they really needed to start prepping the track before yesterday. Whether they have access to the stadium is another issue though.

Nothing to prep, wont hold water in because theirs no material to hold it in, blue groove says it all really. Pirates rider win bonus at Glasgow would have been better spent on some shale, give the track guys something to do instead of watering concrete.

My take on tonight:

-Poole even stronger with Will Cairns unsurprisingly. His arrival will have more of an effect on results than Nagel at Glasgow, whose reserves are too weak.

-A poor track plus a Glasgow team who weren’t at the races out of the gate for most of the night equals that kind of meeting.

-Christina Turnbull proves that she is still willing to pull her absolute clangers on the domestic scene, not just on the world stage.

-Cairns is an enthusiastic lad. God knows what he’ll do after his first max! 😉

Another majestic performance from Richard Lawson he and Masters really are a cut above well done Poole I'd say silverware is yours to lose.

Glasgow were hopeless and frankly have been outclassed by Poole over 30 races.

Big reaction required from all seven on Friday. Then again on well prepared race track I am sure Glasgow will be fine.

Neutral here.

That track tonight was abysmal!

A few other have been similar this season. Give the riders a stage to perform!

Nah can't do that. Few tracks now I would actually want to go to see. Glasgow, Edinburgh BV and Workington the rest ftg.

Wow. Just got back and read through the tripe on here.😅

A huge crowd tonight of over 3000. Programs sold out, big queues at the bars and food outlets. Grandstand packed with three/four deep in front and crowded on the first and second bends. The Pirate faithful turned up to watch the clash at the top of the league and be introduced to our new youngster Will Cairns. And what a debut for this new lad. Seriously stylish in a bike, a decent gater, big for his age and full of confidence. Still raw of course but to score like that on his debut was something else. Don’t see him at reserve for very long. Even did a donut. Then before heat 15 did a running lap around the to high five the many young (and old) pirate fans around the dog track.

Glasgow were absolutely pathetic in what were admittedly harsh conditions due to the 30+C heatwave over the last few days. It was scorcheo in the grandstand before tapes up. The track staff were working very hard all night to keep the dust away and succeeded. Riders after the meeting when interviewed said it was difficult due to heat and of course no chance of any grip. They asked for the track not to be watered on the inside.

Of course us Poole fans loved it, giving a thrashing to our main rivals this season. As Richard Lawson said when interviewed, “we sent them all the way back up north with their tails between their legs.”

As for the moans and groans on here, if a superior team gates, they are not going to get caught and passed, it’s as simple as that. And there was only one team up for the fight tonight.  Happens all the time.

I would imagine over 3000 Pirates fans left Wimborne Road tonight extremely happy, judging by the roars of approval throughout the match. Whilst tonight there was very little drama due to the meeting being one sided, winning brings in the crowds. We will see much better meetings this season with better opposition and kinder weather.
