What about Northampton?

He said only yesterday on local radio that he wants out of the sport, and wants a lifestyle change.

That makes sense as if he was happy with 5 teams he would run Ipswich not sell then put money into something he wasnt happy with in the first place.

Once the sale of Ipswich goes through would Louis use the funds to run Northampton?

It would seem that the way the sport is run by the BSPL and others no longer aligns with his aims and while he wants a lifestyle change change, I would not be surprised if he keeps his options open and perhaps a hand in the sport by linking up with Mildenhall who are again running under NORA. That would overcome the issue he clearly has with the cronies who are running the sport into the ground with a business model which is way past its sell by date. Changes are needed but it is not going to happen with the current managerial incumbents. He has a vision but it clearly did/does not sit well with his former fellow promoters.

For me for speedway to survive and thrive into the future is to have credible 2 main leagues of equal amount of teams.
promotion and relegation between the leagues. One up and one down.
play offs in division 2 for promotion and playoffs in division one for relegation.
whoever tops the table is league champions.
im the top league every meeting should be meaningful wether you are fighting relegation or trying to be champions.
in the second division the battle is for champions and the playoffs would decide promotion

if you could get a tv deal and decent sponsorship for the leagues the money should be divided up into prize money depending where you finish in the league.
a extra payment would be given to the promoted team to assist them in transition to the top league.
a credible league could attract good sponsors and a promotion and relegation battle would make excellent tv.

Now that would be interesting if he was to throw his hat in the ring with NORA and challenge the status quo
