Ipswich v Belle Vue POSF Leg 2

Belle Vue will be fired up to hit us early. We need a strong start to eat in to their lead from the get go to take the wind out of their sails. The quicker we overhaul that 6 point deficit and build a bit of a lead ourselves, the more relaxed everyone will be.

If we start sluggishly like we have at times, and that 6 point deficit becomes 8 and then double figures fairly early on, we’ll then all start getting twitchy especially fresh from that poor performance at home last week. You can then start chasing a bit too hard and that’s where mistakes can crop up.

Need Emil to do a number on Kurtz in heat 1 and King to beat his opposite number for a heat advantage to set the tone for the evening.

Let’s hope the rain doesn’t spoil it…

Aces to slightly drop their Foxhall average of 36, due to no TS's allowed..

Kurtz, Bewley, Lidsey getting 26 off their 14 rides..

The other four scoring 8 between them...

56-34 the result...

Ipswich go through due to Belle Vue being top heavy and their bottom 3 are useless.

one is German champion, one is last years under 23 world long track champion, and one is errrrr Australian, its amazing what useless people can do these days. 🤣

Obviously the standard in Germany and longtrack u23 is very poor, maybe you should have kept Vuolas.

Was interesting to hear Bewley on TNT publicly say how much he enjoys riding Foxhall despite not doing particularly well here. He’s said the same over the tannoy at Foxhall in the past, but I just put that down to the fact he was being interviewed in front of a big Ipswich crowd and saying all the right things.

He’ll soon be hitting the big scores here when he rides it most weeks next year.

😁

I hear Manuel Neuer, and Marco Reus just missed getting on the podium in Germany...:D

I can see the lead being overturned within six heats, home 4-2 in heat 1 and a 5-1 in heat two and its going to be a long night for us.

On paper, I agree with you, however I have just a few niggling concerns:

1. It seems that Ellis’ injury is more problematic on smaller tracks.

2. Thompson seems to be struggling with Foxhall since his return from injury and hasn’t been the same as pre injury.

3. Edwards last two meeting at Foxhall have not been good with 1 & 2 points respectively.

Having said that, I still expect us to turn around the deficit and progress. I just can’t see enough points coming from Mulford, Zischke, Blödorn and even Cook. Cook has scored 1, 3 and 3 at Foxhall this season.

Can’t wait.

I would expect a better score from Zach after last night, he looked very quick. Thompson seemed quick enough but made bad decisions on track. Edwards was good too. I don't think the result will be close.
