The parting of the ways between Ipswich and Rew last year certainly worked out better for Ipswich than it did for Rew.

Bagpuss
If its true that Fricke is going elsewhere then you'd imagine there is more in the kitty to offer Thompson than there would have been otherwise.
TTT
Not surprised at all that Ipswich won't match Leicester's offer for Dan Thompson tbh. Adam Ellis and Dan Thompson's GSA's are seperated by 0.05 and Adam Ellis is much better around Foxhall so if it's 36.00 for a Top 5 then it would've been a straight choice between the two riders anyway. Rider costs/demands are helping British Speedway to go down the plughole. Sounds like leicester just offered more than Ipswich just as simple as that. Quite possibly, but if you look at last season's averages, Thompson's away average was 1.5 higher than at Foxhall where he struggled after his wrist injury. There was a run of 5 meetings at no6 where he scored 2 in 4 of those meetings..... Edited Tuesday at 08:43 PM by iangnz

He was quite open about his struggles at Foxhall and his body language wasn’t particularly great either towards the end. This was on the cards and as I said on another thread, a move away is the best for all parties here. He’s been a great signing and done very well since he was recruited as rising star.

It's been mentioned on the Leicester thread that Dan was offered a really good sponsorship deal if he returned to Leicester but it was only available if he did so, and like been said he did seem to struggle around Foxhall after his injury and he gets around Leicester better as a home track so its a no brainer for him if that's the case.

So he shouldn't get it again.
