If he thinks it’s no longer profitable, and he thinks it’s only going to get worse and he’ll end up LOSING money, then why not give it away?

Trying to get something for his business while is might have a little bit of resale value.

If he doesn’t run in 2026 he won’t be exposing himself to the risk of losing huge sums of money running the club.

I’m not sure that’s correct Phil. The BSPL can’t just take over and run it without Chris Louis’ agreement can they? And I’m not convinced the rest of the BSPL are in Louis’ good books at the moment! Think he’d rather close it down than help them run their league..

Correct. He’s clearly going to have to be compensated for walking away. He’s not going to let them run HIS business. The sale is going to need to go through for everyone’s sake here. It’s a complete mess.

There would be a rental fee

Better than nothing if he can't sell it plus it ensures continuity of the speedway lease and if he wants to sell at any point he will need that in place

It is their post that quotes 'within two weeks' even though if you read the statement made by Chris it's says 'within the coming weeks'

A small yet significant difference 

I do agree however we must now be close to either a full statement or at very least an update as to why there is a delay

'Should' was the magic word they used. Words like 'could, should, may and might' are not normally worth the paper they are written on...

It's pretty simple, they will release the news when it's ready. I'm sure not having season tickets for a year isnt really a problem. In fact with so few meetings the last thing they will want to do is also give a discount.

There’ll be season tickets and they’ll be discounted. How many actually gets sold is anyone’s guess. My guess is nowhere near as many as last year!

I’ve had a pop before about this forum being full of miserable b@stards and everyone being glass half empty and seemingly whinging about anything and everything. But I’m now a fully paid up member. I’m bored to tears with it all and I’ve got to the point where I’m not all that bothered whether we run or not. They need to put all their efforts in to Northampton to get a fifth team running, let them sign the riders earmarked for Ipswich and let them crack on with it. 
 

Absolutely desperate stuff all round. They need to make sure they have a cunning plan for 2027 because another winter like this would practically kill it all off stone dead.

The whole Premiership situation is a disaster.Virtually total silence to the fans who they expect just to turn up and pay their money.The Premiership is on its knees and cannot survive much longer in this situation,no one with any sense is going to invest in something that looks like it’s in dire trouble.

Speedway needs total rethink in GB.2 leagues with the same riders in both is not the long Term answer .IMO.

Don't worry, things are happening "behind the scenes" and there's 2 big things happening, one is 99% (that could have been  Linda Lucardigate) and the other 90% and if they both come off... Speedway in the UK will be just like Polish Speedway, and you can take that to the bank 😂

Maybe I'm lucky that in the last few seasons I've been going less and less, as I'm not that bothered if it all goes ahead or not, although it would be a big shame for those who are still mad for it.

Take a chill pill.  There's no way Ipswich won't be holding speedway in 2026, see you at the first fixture🙂.  The last thing the sport needs is vultures circling whilst not paying any money to support it 🙂
