Personally I think this was pushed by Poole knowing only Thompson and Lawson were over 8 and knowing they had cairns and rushen coming in at reserve.

of course it was, theyve been doing stuff like this in the off season for years.

I would say look at two of the teams who had no rider over eight for 2025 season.

I would agree with that.

Berwick would probably have kept 2, Glasgow would have kept 2 and Redcar would have kept 2. That would be 3 teams (unless Klindt had raced) looking for a rider to lead their team.

How does that work? Poole only have one vote, what about the other 8 teams? Also they tend not to vote for what Poole want.

Don’t know, money?

First of all Plymouth gain way more out of it than we do.

Secondly, Poole moved down to save money. Hardly think they are going to use it to make sure Redcar cant have Danny King!

This is silly.   The "one of the eight" plan was a good leveller, and the league is looking pretty even right now -- Edinburgh and Scunthorpe are higher than they might have been if others had kept all the good riders to themselves.

Since this is a Redcar page, I should also say that the Bears have the luxury of choosing which of two very good riders to be their #1 going forward.  Their choice.

Wait till season ends and see if it can be implemented next season though.

Landshut have longer breaks than the 5 or 6 weeks between British Speedway meetings? 😂

Thanks, only have Speedeay Star & the BSF for information👍

The Speedway Star reports have become the Daily Star style….dont  let the truth get in the way of a good story.

By the time Wright is fit enough to do two meetings in a week Bears season will be over but I’m glad he’s able to earn some decent wages at last even if it is in Germany-Poland.

  • 2 weeks later...

Yes I’m hearing from a source seeing as I don’t have FB and Redcar only put any updates on there now that Charles is back in the team for this weeks match against Workington and Klindt has been dropped, given there was a statement only a week or so ago that Charles couldn’t ride a close cluster of fixtures is he going to be able to take his place at Berwick on Saturday in a crucial semi final ? Timing seems strange and I’m disappointed like most bears fans that room couldn’t be made for both riders so we once again had strength in the crucial heats 13 and 15 , feel this is a mistake but time will tell.

Big changes would have had to be made though averages don’t change much during season.’
