2026 Premiership is Go! - At least 5 teams

If the rumours are correct that 2027 could see a cash injection of the back of work being done by speedway futures then that money needs using wisely.

The best way would be to ensure as many tracks as possible are operating & that new riders are coming through.

The sport needs to ensure the likes of Mildenhall & Eastbourne 2 venues with a history of speedway & tracks still in place need to be operational as league tracks.

Then anything that can be done to get Coventry & Peterborough back. Two venues that are dormant same applies to Wolves.

Then some good investment in bringing riders through.

Speedway in this country is at the bottom it needs investment in infrastructure & assets to start rebuilding. Anything less & I give it 3-5 years before the final curtain falls.

And this silly vendetta against all things NORA needs to STOP!

I think that there needs to be a meeting of promoters of both current league in June / July next year to discuss 2027. There's no point leaving it until after the season ends. If there are disagreements (which there obviously will be), there needs to be sufficient time to arrange follow up discussions and come to some compromise.

If there could be a big 'reveal' meeting (and try to get as much media involved as possible), it would be a good start to the new era.  Maybe a change of name for the league as well - the British Speedway Super League perhaps?

''Dormant' and potential new tracks can get involved, riders could make plans, supporters could consider season tickets as Christmas presents, media can get engaged.

I'd say there needs to be discussion much much earlier than mid year

Ideally they need to start as part of the rearranged AGM in January

I agree, but they are finding it hard enough to sort out 2026 at this point, let alone 2027!

It sounds like 2026 is going to be limping along as we were, not much more needs planning. Planning for 2027 should be well under way by now if the people in charge have any sincere interest in saving and reviving the sport here.

The outcome of the AGM in January should be a long term plan, one that the fans are made fully aware of. It's easier to invest in another season of dross if there's a transparent plan for improvement in place and in full view for those who pay their way each week.

Bradford couldn't even get crowds of 1000 when they won the Elite league, how many will they get 28 years later?

Bradford hoped the crowd would move an-mass from Halifax, but it didn't.There were unique circumstances that kept Halifax crowds healthy, certainly by today's standards, but there was no way they could be replicated at Odsal.

Plus Halifax had one of the greats in Kenny Carter before his sad demise and Neil Evitts had no where near the same pulling power.

I think we need to forget all this nonsense about extra teams because it ain't going to happen. Unfortunately the Premiership is like the cockroach that has been stood on but is desperately scuttling around the floor looking for survival. Logical thinking required here, why would any right minded businessman or persons invest in a dying sport? It ain't happening so people need to deal with it. One league is the only way forward and I believe eventually it will be forced upon the powers that be.
