the track is halfway between the villages of Brafield on the Green ( A428 Northampton to Bedford Rd) and Horton ,

so basically in the middle if nowhere

For God's sake, don't mention Horton!   They're still looking to name a figurehead promoter....

How true that is  , when I took a quick glance at the post the name sent a shudder down my spine.😁

Yes . When sandhu stood down from speedway. And offered the promotion for grabs. With the hundreds who were wanting to take it on and mick Horton got the nod. How surprising. It’s almost like he was the only one who was prepared to give it a go and without him spoedway would have been all over at Coventry

In effect it was , he ran a "sh*t show" & in my opinion he was a stain on the history of the club.

Wasn't there two Horton's and the other one took over Peterborough cleared the debts and led a successful era for 2-3 seasons before he got bored of underwriting the losses or was that the Frost fella ?

Yes Colin Horton took over and threw money about. But allegedly made his money through insurance fraud on containers being lost at sea.

Was seriously considering making a visit to Northampton this season...

Maybe I'll put as much effort into going as they're putting into encouraging me to go...!!!!

Following the switch from White City... I used to make a 170 mile round trip every week to follow and support Eastbourne...

But my enthusiasm is rapidly approaching zero thanks to the numpties who now run our once great sport...

Their first home fixture is four weeks away.

Only just read last weeks copy of the Speedway Star and they do a two page spread on Northampton...

Mark Lemon is quoted as saying that they needed a sixth team for the "integrity and credibility" of the sport...

I do hope when he used those words, he managed to do it with a straight face...

Fair play if he did....:D

I'm sure that as long as they let us know what's happening a few days before that first fixture, the masses will drop everything... change all their plans... and head straight to Northampton...

It's far from ideal and hopefully the reasons for that will become clear but personally I wouldn't rule out going somewhere a month before the first fixture.

The main thing British Speedway does wrong is the lack of information even if there isn't much to tell and rhats happening here unfortunately.

I think when it is up and running it will be popular, its location is central and easy access means it will be easy for most people to get to.  If they could persuade the powers that be to put on a decent individual meeting to raise the profile it should be successful.

Literally, seven figures spent on riders, (who Average Joe Public will never have heard of), yet hardly anything on professional PR, Media output, and Event Management....

Absolutely crackers!!!!:D

Unfortunately due to the upcoming fuel crisis 😧 I don't think many people will be prepared to travel to Northampton or anywhere else for that matter
